Own a Team - Amnesties - Buyouts - Waivers

Post#1 » by roc » Thu Apr 26, 2012 5:22 am

This thread is for amnesties and buyouts only. Any other discussion will be deleted.

IF the team you have has used the regular amnesty already then you no longer have it available to use.

Amnesties will count against your $1billion start up money.

Please post in here any player that has already been amnestied as well as the amount/years of the contract.

Mini amnesties will also need to be posted in here as will any agreed to buyouts.

To buy out a player you will need to contact league offices.

Commissioner - rocdogg - rocdogg05@yahoo.com - AIM: rocdogg05@yahoo.com
Assisstant Commish - BlackIce - allstar_1264@hotmail.com - AIM: kingblackice1991

AMNESTY RULES

7.. We will have a 2nd type of Amnesty (mini amnesty) to help balance taking on contracted players.
7a. Regular amnesty can be used for 1 player on initial roster if it hasn't been used yet in RL(player can be bid on by teams under cap (7f), original team is responsible for remaining $) Teams have until roster limits take affect to use the regular amnesty.
7b. All teams will have 3 separate $5 mil deductions from cap they can use against a player's salary which will not count against cap(you can use up to 2 of these total in the 1st 2 years and a 3rd in the 3rd or 4th)
7c. If you use 7b amnesty on a player that will be due for a new contract you can keep amnesty for a total of 5 years
7d. Players amnestied using 7b will carry over to new team in a trade with original team being responsible for the amnestied amount for the duration of the 5 year period unless player contract expires early.
7e. You can only use mini amnesty on a player one time as they are non stacking
7f. 7f. Amnestied players (7a) will go into blind auction (24 hours) with only 1 bid allowed by a team(must be under the cap to make a bid) for that player(These players WILL be allowed to be traded). There will then be an additional 24 hours for teams not under cap to blind bid using MLE.
7g. Players won in blind bids will only be under contract for 1 year and then become unrestricted FAs

BUYOUT RULES

22. Buy Outs will be discussed with commissioner to set a price which will be counted against money spent but the full salary will count against cap unless picked up off waivers.
22a Bought player will have 1 day to clear waivers. IF player is picked up before that the difference in price will be deducted from cap hit of original team.
22b Bought out player can only sign for 1 season and will then become an unrestricted Free Agent
22c Bought out player can be signed by anyone after waivers are cleared by posting in the signing thread

Waived players will follow same rules for signings as bought out players.

3years, 15 mil.

You do not have him yet (see trade approvals and email I just sent you) and the mini amnesty will be able to last for 5 seasons even through resigning iggy if you resigned him. The only way it will not last 5 seasons is if the player gets traded and the contract runs out before that 5 years. You will be the one that owes that $5mil every year even if the player is traded. The new team can not renew the amnesty so if it runs out on them then that is that.

feel free to repost this if you still want to AFTER your trade has been approved.

Few quick questions:

1. I might want to mini-amnesty a guy who makes less than 5M per, so:
a) can I do that
b) do I put 0 or a - number for my cap
c) do I just subtract the amount, or do I not have that cap hit and he "pays" me (say I have a 4M guy, does the cap hit go to -1M or 0?)

2. How much of the buyout do we have to pay as expenses, and how much goes to salary cap? (re-read the rules and still can't quite figure this one out)

3. Can we use both regular amnesty and mini-amnesty?

4. You say we can use mini amnesty 4 times, twice in one year. Since this is only a 2 year game, what is the significance of putting that option in?

Thanks

1a. yes 1b. yes. 1c. you subtract $5mil until it reaches 0 at minimum. They will not owe you money.

2. buyouts will be negotiated with the league offices and you will get your numbers at that time.

3. yes - every team gets 1 regular amnesty to use unless the team has already used it in RL

4. 2013/14 playoffs is when the game ends so that is into the 3rd year

Detroit uses regular amnesty on Ben Gordon.

2011/2012 2012/2013 2013/2014
$11,600,000.00 $12,400,000.00 $13,200,000.00

So I update my Roster and subtract $37.2 million from my $1 billion now or do I need to wait for approval on the amnesty?

Make note of the amnesty it's full amount and you do not need to wait for approval for these or mini amnesties.
