Andrea Bargiani on Gearld Wallace
Danny Granger on Kris Humphries
Lou Amundson on Andrew Bogut

Gameplan
Offense: Use our size and length on the perimeter. Spread them out and let Rondo distribute on the perimeter. Wallace, Matthews, and Hump isn't the best defensive trio while Martin, Granger, and Bargs are supremely skilled + can get there shot off on almost everyone

Defense: Pack in the paint. Let Rose, Matthews, and Wallace shoot jumpers all day and make the priority protecting the rim on D-Rose drives to the rim

Milwaukee Tribe Starting 5:
Image Image Image Image Image
Key Bench Players:
Image Image Image Image
Key Coaches:
Image Image
Head Coach - Mike D'Antoni - Offensive mastermind
Assistant Coach - Sidney Moncrief - Defensive mastermind

Rotation / Minute Allocation:
PG - Kyle Lowry (38) / Beno Udrih (10)
SG - Anthony Morrow (18) / Luc Richard Mbah a Moute (20) / Mike Dunleavy Jr. (5) / Jodie Meeks (5)
SF - Kevin Durant (43) / Mike Dunleavy Jr. (5)
PF - Anderson Varejao (23) / Luc Richard Mbah a Moute (20) / Channing Frye (5)
Cc - Channing Frye (31) / Anderson Varejao (17)

Gameplan:
Offense:
Our offensive gameplan isn't too sophisticated. We will start Anthony Morrow and Channing Frye in order to create some offensive firepower to start the game. Morrow will make the 37 year old Ray Allen sweat on defense and Frye will attract the focus of DeAndre Jordan, taking away his ability to thrive as a help defender. We'll get the drive and dish game going, with Lowry getting passed Nash with ease finding his open teammates. The bulk of our offense, however, will come through the greatest scorer in the NBA in Kevin Durant. D'Antoni will have these guys running and gunning and scoring a TON of points. Nash cannot defend Lowry, which amplifies everything, and Durant should have his way with Batum.

Defense:
Here we get a little more creative. Assistant coach Sidney Moncrief (2x Defensive player of the year, 4x All NBA Defensive 1st Team) has some weapons to work with and D'Antoni has given him full reign as far as being in charge of the defense.

Kyle Lowry vs. Steve Nash:
We feel as though Lowry matches up GREAT with Nash; Kyle is an absolute force on that side of the ball and we fully expect him to give Nash serious headaches.

Luc Richard Mbah a Moute vs. Ray Allen:
Obviously Ray Allen is a huge threat, but we will ask Morrow to hang tight in there to start the game-- just shadowing Ray's every move and not sagging off one inch. When Morrow isn't in the game, Ray will be getting a large dose of Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, arguably the league's BEST perimeter defender. We think Ray will struggle to get of a shot as long as Luc is in the game covering him.

Kevin Durant vs. Nicolas Batum:
We will play Durant straight up on Batum for most of the game, witha few spot minutes from Dunleavy. Don't be surprised if Mbah a Moute ends up seeing some of his minutes here if Kevin struggles containing his man.

Anderson Varejao vs. Blake Griffin:
Although Varejao is our clear-cut center, we will be asking him to man-up the great Blake Griffin. Varejao is an intense, energetic defender and his tough as nails-- we expect him to do a great job containing Blake. He doesn't like to get physical in the paint, so that's exactly what we're going to throw at him. As you can see, my ultimate defender Mbah a Moute will also be manning up on Blake for a good chunk of the game as well. Griffin will have one of AV/Moute on him at all times.

Channing Frye vs. DeAndre Jordan:
Channing Frye gets the start here for offensive purposes, but we think he will do a fine job defensively on Jordan. DeAndre struggles creating his own offense, so as long as or defense at the other positions are good, Channing should be golden.

The Last Word:
Our youth in the backcourt paired with our ability to defend their three strongest positions exceptionally well will prove to be too much for the Knicks to handle. Lowry on Nash + Moute on Allen + AV/Moute on Griffin + Durant on offense is a good formula for our success here.

Starting 5:

Key role players:
ImageImageImage

Minutes:
Wall (36)/Dooling (10)/Thomas (2)
George (36)/Pietrus (12)
Pierce (44)/Pavlovic (4)
Garnett (40)/Steimsma (4) Johnson (4)
Hibbert (34)/Steimsma (12)/Hollins (2)

Offense:
Wall will be the primary ball handler. We want Wall to not only be a facilitator, but also attack the basket. Paul George will be a spot up shooter outside and will also use his athleticism to score inside. Pierce, we'll use in many iso situations and will look to be 'the guy' when the game is on the line. If Wall cannot get his offense going, we'll want him getting the ball to Pierce. KG, he'll play his back to the basket game and try to abuse Amare. We'll want KG to bully Amare inside as well. Hibbert will be our screener in the PnR. He has a mid range jumper so he'll be able to pop or roll to the basket easily with his size.

Attacking inside with weak defenders inside until they collapse the paint. Then, kick it out to wide open shooters.

Defense:
-Try to get the ball out of Williams' hands. Keep forcing him to pass it out.
-Force Amare to be the only scoring option. Let Amare take contested shots with KG defending.
-Defend the PnR. With Williams & Amare, they'll more than likely look to do that the entire game.
-Fight through screeners. The only way Hamilton will get his buckets is off the screens.
-Defend the 3. Have to stop guys like Ilyasova & Korver from getting open looks from 3.

Defensive match ups:
Wall - D-Will
George - Rip
Pierce - Ilyasova
Garnett - Amare
Hibbert - Ayon

Depth Chart

ImageImageImageImageImage

Jameer Nelson / Dwyane Wade / Jason Richardson / Chris Bosh / Nikola Pekovic

ImageImageImageImageImage

Jerryd Bayless / Courtney Lee / Quentin Richardson / Glen Davis / Spencer Hawes

pg: Nelson 28 / Bayless 20
sg: Wade 38 / Lee 10
sf: J. Richardson 30 / Q. Richardson 10 / Lee 8
pf: Bosh 38 / Davis 10
c: Pekovic 30 / Hawes 18

Game plan: Let Wade create for a team full of offensively capable players, Bosh is by 2nd option. I feel like my bench is very strong at all positions and plan to expose my opponent playing several players out of position. At pg Nelson/Bayless will always be fresh splitting minutes, at sf my players can all stretch the floor, at c i have a beast in pek backed up by a breakout center in hawes and when i sit my two best players, i have two very very good backups in lee and davis. overall i think my talent takes over.

Starting 5

Bench

Image Image Image Image

Rotation:

Steve Nash [34]/Baron Davis [10]/Jamal Crawford [4]
Ray Allen [34]/Jamal Crawford [14]
Nicolas Batum [40]/Matt Barnes [8]
Blake Griffin [37]/David Lee [11]
DeAndre Jordan [35]/David Lee [13]

Gameplan:

Offensively, we're going to spread the floor with three dead-eye shooters in Nash, Allen, and Batum. Nash and Batum both shoot 40% from distance and Ray a ridiculous 45%. Batum and Allen will be run off of screens to get open looks from the best pure passer in the NBA - Steve Nash. Blake Griffin is already an extraordinary passer from the post and will look to throw it back out to Steve, Ray, or Nic when the double comes. If he is played straight up, he will score at a high rate. David Lee is a 20 ppg scorer, Jamal Crawford won the 6th man award for offense off the bench, and DeAndre Jordan shoots 63% from the field with tip ins and a steady diet of lobs. We have 4 incredibly skilled players (though no one is worse than average) offensively all being fed by Steve Nash, who is the most creative, consistent, and excellent offensive point guard in basketball.

Defensively, we are not as strong. Fortunately, their only huge threat to burn us is Kevin Durant. He will get his, even though we have a quick, lengthy, and smart defender in Batum sticking him nearly the entire game. Morrow and Frye had very poor shooting years and have never been more than "nice" players. They won't decide the outcome of a 7 game series. Mbah a Moute, Varejao, and Lowry are all average offensive players. We know KD is going to score 30. The key is to not let any of the other players go off. The same can't be said for my team. Nash, Allen, Batum, Blake, Crawford and Lee can all score 20 every single game. Pack the paint on Griffin and we'll rain 3s like it's cool.

Nash v Lowry

Lowry is a good defensive point guard, but I don't think that Steve Nash cares. In 4 games against Houston this year, Nash averaged 10/10 on 58% shooting. Nash is more seasoned, more intelligent, and more talented than Kyle Lowry. If Lowry doesn't know what it's like to get burned by a 2-time MVP and hall of famer, he's going to learn today. Defensively, Nash is not a stopper. However, Lowry only averaged 10/5 on 36% shooting against Phoenix this year. Take that how you will.

Allen v Morrow

Simple game plan. Stay in front of your man and keep a hand in his face. Morrow shot 37% from 3. He's decent, but he isn't a killer. He's not Ray Allen.

Batum v Durant

Durant is half-man, half-amazing. He's going to score his 25 or 30 points no matter who defends him. Nic has the length and speed to keep up with Kevin, if not slow him down. He's going to try to deny him the ball as much as possible. Kevin will have to work on and off the ball. He's young, but going 100% for 43 minutes a night will take it's toll, we believe, by the time games 5, 6, 7 roll around.

Blake v Frye

We're not going to pull our best rim-protector out of the paint, so Blake will guard Channing. Frye can be shut down like this - don't leave him open. It's really, really simple. His offensive game is entirely the jump shot. Blake will have to play close to the perimeter which hurts his rebounding, but we'll make up for that by having Nic the guards crash the boards. Blake, on the other hand, will use his speed and athleticism to create a fast break on every missed shot. He's going to get some easy highlight jams like this.

Jordan v Varejao

Anderson isn't the biggest offensive threat in the world, so Jordan only needs to not let him be wide open for jams or short jumpers. Aside from that, he'll just be protecting the basket. Nothing comes easy when you have an elite shot blocker between you and a lay in.

Summary

I have an elite offensive team. Outside of Seattle, no one can score at the same rate. Milwaukee plays good defense, but it won't be enough. They are mediocre offensively, relying almost entirely on one player to score. I can score the basketball from any position on the floor throughout the entire game. They say defense wins championships, but ultimately, it's about who puts the ball in the hole.

New Jersey over Indiana 4-2

I think the Rondo/Rose rivalry is underplayed and that Rondo will shine in this series, but New Jersey just has more talent.

Boston over Chicago 4-1

Chicago has too many holes to compete with the experience and size of Boston.

Toronto over Orlando 4-3

Toronto has a very nice defensive team and just enough punch to beat Orlando. They are simply a complete team with weapons at every position.

1 v 8 - Brooklyn v Pacers

Brooklyn did not post any write ups yet but is out of town on business so I will not hold that against him. His team is just too much for the Pacers to handle IMO as their frontcourt defense, depth, and closing power via D Rose should get the job done.

Brooklyn in 5

2 v 7 Boston v Bulls

Boston has too much experience and firepower to be stopped by the Bulls lack of D. This series may be closer than people expect though as Deron/Amare PnR should be pretty nice at this point of season. Ilyasove will add toughness but in the end they just do not have enough to stop the Celtics.

Boston in 6

3 v 6 Orlando v Raptors

This is a really tight match up with Orlando having the offensive edge v Raptor's excellent defense. I think this may be the closest match up of all the 1st round series but in the end Wade (and the refs?) will pull it out in the deciding 7th game.

Orlando in 7

4 v 5

Another great match up that I expect to go 6 or 7 games. MIL has the defensive edge up front and Durant on the wing but NYK has Nash running the show with Blake and Ray to get the roc to as well as getting his own when needed. I feel that Nash will put this team on his shoulders and get the job done in the end.

1.BROOKLYN NETS 4
vs
8. INDIANA PACERS 1

-I think that the Nets big man rotation is far superior with Hump/Bogut/Scola than Bargs and Hansbrough, and the Nets will control the paint. Plus, the Pacers best player, Rondo, is at a disadvantage in this series playing against Rose.

4. NEW YORK KNICKS 4
vs
5. MILWAUKEE TRIBE 2

-Durant will go off, although I think Batum is one of the better options you can throw at him. However, outside of that, the Tribe don't really have any offense. Lowry can score a bit, but no one else can really create their own shot, so even though NYK has average defense, I don't see MIL making them pay. Also, sticking guys on the shooters (NYKs plan) and letting Durant try and score against Batum will help NYK to win. Finally, when Blake and Lee are on the floor together it will be unstoppable because one will be against Frye (and be able to get almost whatever he wants) and there would be no post-up pressure that faces them on defense.

2. BOSTON CELTICS 4
vs
7. CHICAGO BULLS 3

-Neither team has depth, at all, which is a good break for both squads. I don't like Ayon at SF, especially against Playoff Pierce, and Boston has the front court advantage too. The reason I see this going to 7 games is the Amare/D-Will P&R, which should be very strong, especially if Hibbert is having to run out on P&Rs a lot, but that length will save the Celtics in the long run.

3. ORLANDO MAGIC 3
vs
6. TORONTO RAPTORS 4

-I don't know how Jameer/Wade/Richardson/Bayless will be able to handle the perimeter scoring/slashing/athleticism of Iggy, Ellis and Lawson. They can all get to the rim, shoot the ball or pass it out from a drive, and I think the only guy who could stop them is Wade, but there is only one of him, and the other two should be able to take advantage of guys like 'Meer and J-Rich. I also think that Nene/Gortat just about equals Bosh/Pek, so even though ORL would have an advantage against most teams, TOR is one of the few who may be able to neutralize their bigs. I think ORL just hit a very unfavorable matchup in this one.

Bulls over Celtics in 6
-D-Will + Amare is way to good of a due. John Wall in his first playoff series isn't ready to be a star yet, still developing his game.

Magic over Raptors in 7
-No real close on the Raps, Wade too good

Tribe over Knicks in 6
-Blake not quite there yet, will struggle in his matchup with Varejo. KD will kill this Knicks team

Brooklyn-Pacers - Brooklyn wins. Better team.
Milwaukee-NY - MIL wins. Close series, but I think Durant is too good to stop.
Boston-Bulls - Boston wins. Chi only has Dwill, who will leave the Bulls in the offseason I think.
