Buffalo Braves vs Seattle SuperSonics

Chris Paul | Reggie Jackson
Joe Johnson | George Hill | Bobby Simmons
Carmelo Anthony | Jeremy Evans
Kenyon Martin | Jordan Hill | Ivan Johnson | Brian Cook
Tyson Chandler | Kurt Thomas | Johan Petro

vs

Kyrie Irving | Mario Chalmers | Tracy McGrady
Thabo Sefolosha | James Harden | Willie Green
LeBron James | Steve Novak | Jarred Jeffries
LaMarcus Aldridge | Kenneth Faried | Trey Thompkins
Dwight Howard | Marcus Camby | Kevin Seraphin

Gameplan:

PG:
Kyrie is good, but he's inexperienced. Paul is going to tear this young guy apart. He's too smart for him. Chalmers may have a better time guarding him but he's going to get his regardless. IF he does decide to play T-Mac at PG, no problem because Joe Johnson can play it as well but better.

SG:
He will most likely have Thabo on JJ and LeBron on Melo. That's fine. JJ doesn't shy away from good defenders. Harden is going to be a problem, I'll admit that. But it's nothing my bigs can't handle from stopping him+Bron from getting inside.

SF:
Melo has shown to still be able to score against LeBron and he's very underrated on his defense against Bron as well. Novak sucks except for transition 3's. If Melo can defend LeBron to some extend he can keep a hand in Novak's face and let him chuck up bad shots.

PF:
We're going to put Tyson Chandler on LaMarcus Aldridge. Coming from a Portland fan, he's going to have a difficult time with Chandler in his face all game. Faried is good, but too young and gets most of his buckets off of assists. I can just switch and put Martin/Hill/Johnson on him and he won't get much easy buckets if we push him out the paint.

Ce:
Call me crazy, but I'm not going to put Tyson Chandler on Dwight. He has a better chance of shutting down LMA then Dwight and won't pick up as many fouls. There's no "stopping" Dwight Howard, so why bother? Let him have his way inside as long as the other big men are shut down.
Dammit...:

I've got Nurkic fever now.

This brings us to our 1st huge advantage... coaching

Tom Thibodeau is going to eat Vinny Del Negro for Breakfast and ask for 2nds.

Our defensive game plan will be to pack the paint and harass Chris Paul by throwing different looks at him during the course of games and the sure to be short series.

We will let JJ and Melo chuck away with contested shots from outside and ruin the flow of the Buffalo offense. Both are shooting under 40% in the playoffs this year and under 30 from 3(24% for JJ & 15% for Melo :o)

We will space the floor with our exceptional shooting and pound the ball inside to Dwight to create foul problems while on the offensive end. With Chandler guarding LMA the lane will be wide open as LMA draws TC out of the paint with his excellent midrange game. We will have a field day. On the other end of the floor Buffalo is beyond subpar with it's big man scoring so we expect a chuckfest of epic proportions.

Rebounding will be a huge advantage for our team and with our efficiency combined with more 2nd opportunity's to boot... yea, this will get messy.

CP3 will give Irving some problems for sure but Irving is also a rather smart player as is Harden and the rest of my squad. CP3 will get his but we will get more in the end and at a much more efficient rate on a team level.

Our team is a lot more rested and has considerably more depth to throw at the opposition so we expect a couple of routs along the way to our next series. This will not be pretty.

In the end it comes down to superior coaching, defense, rebounding, inside scoring, depth, and versatility. These parts of the game are where this series will be decided.

The Decision we have made is to win it all and we have the tools to do so.

Good luck to Buffalo and maybe we can meet again in next year's finals.

I don't think that Buffalo's back court is getting as much love as it should.

Seattle's strength is the 3-5, Buffalo's is the 1-3. The question is, which of the other two players in each starting unit can stop the hemorrhage of points?

I like Chandler's ability to hold the paint more than I trust Irving to stay in front of Paul.

I actually thing Buffalo's starting unit gives as good as it gets - the problem is that Seattle wins the battle of the bench.

Seattle in 7, but it was a great series.

Seattle in 7. Kmart, along with BUF not having a lock-down defender on the wing are the main reasons.

Nets in 6. Rose with amazing D around him and Lou/Scola to help with scoring.

Seattle in 7. Best two team in the league, and a heck of an interesting series.
Brooklyn in in 4. Maybe it goes 5, but Orlando is out of their league.
