WRITE UP

I started out in Oklahoma City with a pretty nice team but decided to move them back to Seattle and into a luxurious new state of the art arena on the waterfront.

This move cost me $660,000,000 total in our 1st year but it was well worth the money. We have already earned back all money spent and turned a profit to boot all in 3 years time. From here on in we look to be making a huge profit each season from our Arena and our share of TV money.

We will be adding our 3rd straight #1 pick thanks to an early trade with Miami that has backfired greatly on them. They will lose there 2015 pick to CLE and then owe us another 1st rounder in 2016 if they are one of the 10 worst teams. With the track record we have seen chances are great that we will end up with another excellent player from that draft.

We also own Chicago's 2015 and 2016 1st, Dallas 2016 1st, and LA Lakers 2017 1st so we expect to have a constant flow of young talent heading our way. Between this and our reasonable team salary to talent ratio we expect to compete for many more titles down the road which in turn will land us a considerable profit year in and year out for the foreseeable future.

We estimate that our profit margin will be roughly $100 to 220 million per season for the next few years at least. This could well go on for a much longer period if we continue to make smart trades and stockpile more top tier talent.

We took a team that had lost in the conference finals in 2011 to Dallas and built them into a juggernaut that has won 3 titles in a row and doesn't look to be slowing down any time soon. We fixed the rebounding issues in the front-court and added incredible depth with unselfish team players that know the game well from a mental aspect. We also added Tom Thibodeau as our coach which has been a huge boon to our team defense and overall style of play. The results have been all that we could hope for and more.

We have been blessed with good health during this run due to a combination of bringing in the right players, lowering minutes played, and our state of the art training facilities. We want a healthy happy team and have taken every precaution to ensure that. So far we have been extremely pleased with the results.

Seattle has become basketball's Mecca and we plan to keep it that way. Good Luck to all in their attempts to dethrone us. We don't plan on letting go of the prize any time soon.

WRITE UP

I took this team over after the previous owner let them stagnate. He had amnestied Ben Gordon and drafted DeMarcus Cousins in contraction but then did nothing.

I decided the best course for this team was to have an eye towards the future and not worry about winning just yet. The plan was simple... add talent via the draft until we could build a team that can compete with the big guns.

We added Michael Kidd-Gilchrest, Isaiah Austin, and Tony Mitchell via the draft and Andre Drummond via trade. That trade was our only trade during the 2 seasons we ran the team. There was just not much left in terms of trades by the time we took over as we did not want to hurt our draft positioning and most other rosters around the league were already situated.

We are happy with the direction we chose and expect to start making some noise as early as next season if all goes well. Once our bigs mature and we add some back-court depth we will have a team to be reckoned with. Patience is our mantra and we feel it has served us well.

First Words

This was one of the most up and down trading games I have ever been a part of. At times, I thought I was screwed, at other times I felt like I was 2nd only to Seattle. How I actually finish will be up to you guys, but I do think that my end product, in relative to my starting product, is one of the best.

Talent improvement from original roster to final roster

I think this is an 8 or 9 on a scale from 1-10. From pure talent (which is what the criteria is), I think it's not close that I improved on a huge scale. My previous best players, Millsap and Jefferson, would be somewhere in the 3-6 range of best players on my new team. Both Rose and Bynum are miles ahead of the best player on the previous team, and I think that would give me an upper hand against other Owners.

Coaching

Larry Brown has been coach of the year, and just to remind everyone how good he is...

In his 31 years of coaching, he has a career wining % of .568 and a .511 in the playoffs. He is a great defensive coach, and since 97/98 (when he went to Philly), these are the defensive rating league ranks of his teams:

So three of his past 4 coaching jobs, he has taken the defense to top 5 in the league, and the other one had a front court of Frye/Curry (lol).

Adding that coach to a team with outstanding defensive players like Tony Allen, Corey Brewer, Metta World Peace, Anderson Varejao, Jason Thompson and Andrew Bynum should have my team at the top of the league in terms of defense. The other coach I hired was Bill Walton. Not only was Walton the greatest passing big man of all time, he was also a terrific defender and rebounder. He will work with Bynum to help him on these things, and frankly, I can't think of a better mentor for Bynum than Walton.

Money management

I did end up with $925,542,806, which is down about $75M. However, when you look at 10M for renaming, 15M for HC change, 5M for firing Corbin, about 37M in total amnesty costs, which totals 67M, it shows that I only lost a few million. I can tell you for sure that the coaching change was worth it, and I probably would not have gotten guys like Bynum and Allen had I not had the cap space to do it.

Future profitability

Continuing from the last point, I think I am set up to make some money. All of my core is locked up for at least one more year, at a cheap payroll at around 55-57M both this year and next. As I make more money from the Playoffs, along with a cheap payroll, I see some money making in future years.

How bright is the team's future in terms of talent and possible title chances

I think I am set up for one of the brightest futures. Rose is 25 and Bynum is 26, both young studs ready to make some title runs. Add in roll players like Varejao and Allen, and I could see title runs in the coming years.

Drafting/future picks

Drafting - Thomas Robinson at #4 is what's expected, and Festus Ezeli with a pick in the late 20's is actually very solid value. No real surprises or busts here.

Future Picks - I lost a few 2nds along the way, and also picked a few up, but I still have all my firsts. Nothing fancy in this area, but it's not a 1 or 2.

Team Offense/Defense

Offense - Bynum and Rose all day. Both can easily beat about 90% of their counterparts, so they will be where most offense is produced. I expect Odom to be happy and back to his old 15/7/4 form, as a valuable guy to spark offense every now and then. Varejao can help on the P&R with Rose, and he put up 1.09 PPP as a P&R roll man (to put in perspective, Kevin Love put up 1.10 PPP on same plays).

Defense - This is where I dominate. Tony Allen, Corey Brewer, Anderson Varejao, Metta World Peace, Jason Thompson, Zaza Pachulia are all fantastic defensive players. Bynum is no slouch either, and is statistically a better post defender than Dwight, regarded as a top defensive player. Add in one of the greatest defensive coaches of all time (took a team led by SJax, Wallace, Diaw, Felton and had a #1 overall defense), and I see this team being top 5 year in, year out.

Durability/Chemistry

Durability - ... ok so give me a 2 and go to the next category...I'm not as bad as some teams...

Chemistry - Varejao and Rose along with Allen, Brewer, Thompson and Bynum are all great team guys, there should be no problems here. Plus, Bynum is used to being a 2nd option, so he shouldn't be mad at all.

Writeup:

Not going to take as long, don't have as much time. I started with a playoff team with a core of Granger/Rondo/Bargnani/KMart. It's not that bad, had some decent assets, but the team was going nowhere, and had no true big men. I decided to blow it up and go young.

What we ended up with was a bunch of young players with high potential. Adonis Thomas looks to be an All-Star, a wing that can not only defend well, but also get to the rim and finish, and has shown improvement on his jump shot. Enes Kanter would be in his 3rd year, and ready to start. Cody Zeller also looks like an All-Star type, has a large frame and good post skills. James McAdoo has just a ton of raw talent to carry a team. I also have good vets like Kyle Lowry, Lou Williams and Andrea Bargnani, so that my team doesn't fally apart from being too young.

We plan on signing Lowry to a short term deal this summer, and drafting a PG with our #5 overall. This allows the draft pick to develop, and to still have Lowry running a familiar team.

We came into Milwaukee with quite the mess on our hands. The inherited roster was easily one of the top five least desirable rosters in the league. We were luckily able to sign Stephen Curry through the contraction draft, which helped. Our main assets were Curry, Ellis, Jennings, Ilyasova and we ended with a starting five of Ty Lawson / Joe Johnson / Kevin Durant / Zach Randolph / Samuel Dalembert. We took a team destined for the draft lottery and transformed it into the top contender in the East.

After we acquired our franchise player in Kevin Durant, we decided to start anew in Milwaukee-- we changed our team logo, our uniforms and we built a new state of the art basketball facility. The Bucks were in serious danger of being moved to another city, so I not only had to keep them in town by building an arena-- I had to put a winner on the floor to pay for it. Starting with a team with no real "stars", I ended with 3 in JJ/KD/Zbo. I made the playoffs every year, making it to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2013, the NBA Finals in 2014 and expect to return to the Finals in 2015. We expect to make $150,000,000 to $200,000,000 the next few years, which will pay off the remaining cost of the arena and the newly named Milwaukee Tribe will remain in Wisconsin for the long haul.

Our team chemistry is extremely good. We have our clear-cut alpha-male in Durant, our 2nd option in Joe Johnson and our 3rd fiddle in Zach Randolph. This is a "big three" that compliments each other well and shares the rock. Ty Lawson as the 4th option is fantastic as well, as he can penetrate and score/dish or play off the ball with Johnson facilitating and knock down shots. Dalembert is our garbageman who protects the rim, secures rebounds and makes a living on put backs and lobs from Lawson-- he is the landlord of the paint and ZBo works the midrange. This lineup is a recipe for success, as proven by reaching the NBA Finals.

We are also proud of our assembled coaching staff, and they deserve much of the credit for our recent success. Mike D'Antoni is a offensive mastermind and has really done magical things with our trio of Johnson, Durant and Randolph. He was the voice in my ear to acquire Lawson, which proved to be a wonderful decision. We have a balanced team that plays on both ends of the floor and shares the basketball. Bruce Pearl has been great with Durant and Lawson as far as their development and Sidney Moncrief has gotten the most out of these guys on defense. We score on you at an alarming rate and we won't give you any easy baskets. We have good durability and depth on our squad paired with a top-of-the-line medical staff/facility.

Overall, we changed the Milwaukee Bucks from the laughing stock of the NBA into the Milwaukee Tribe-- Champions of the Eastern Conference-- in three years. We took a team on the verge of being forced out of town and gave them the 2nd most luxurious arena in the NBA, securing their presence in Milwaukee for the next couple of decades. We gave Milwaukee their hero when we brought in the 2nd best player in the NBA in Kevin Durant, a very young superstar that has no issues playing in a small market. We grinded and grinded in the trade game, making moves with little assets in order to acquire two stars in Joe Johnson and Zach Randolph, as well as a perfect floor general in Ty Lawson. We took the most hated coach in the league (voted by the players) and replaced him with one of the premiere coaches in the game in Mike D'Antoni, whose style of basketball is exciting and entertains our fans greatly. This transformation is why we did the best job.

Just a quick foreword - I didn't chose SAS, I basically said I'd have whoever nobody else wanted. The team was great, but old, with little trade value, the lowest contraction draft and 2012 draft picks. Basically, fewer assets than everyone.

Well I started well into the lux tax ($75m), kept my team competitive (top 3 in the league and could've been Finals or Champions a couple of times if it wasn't for Seattle). The weird structure meant I lost a bit of money from my starting point but I think it was ok. I didn't overpay for my free agents - some great contracts on board.

Well let's see here...we began as a team in the "title hunt" -- in cap hell -- but we were contenders, nonetheless. With 2/3 of our main core not getting in younger, we decided to needed to act fast as quickly to surround our "all-world" talented trio with as much help as possible -- despite the financial burdens it may cause. After we got bounced out of the playoffs in the 2nd rd by that NBA 2K team (OKC..SEA Sonics), we decided we still had enough to try again next year and decided we just need a little more talent.

Soo, we added more talent and more money, so what we said, Kobe wanted and deserved to go after 6 rings and we were going to do whatever it took to achieve that for him and this Laker franchise....then we ran into that video game squad from Seattle again and last a few extra minutes against them this time..not bad eh? ..... P.S., our seedings from seasons one and two were downright atrocious, but I digress. At this point, we knew we'd done all we could and there just was no beating 'God' himself...

And unfortunately our management's ignorance caused us to lose Bynum for zip and things got ugly from there. "TPTB" of the Lakers organization decided to have a meeting about 7-8 miles north at the Bohemian Grove and there "The Decision part 2" was decided...'Kobe must be waived' [dun-dun-duuuuun']. Deng was sent out next. We then brough in the "Asian Sensation, Caucasian Infatuation, Jackie Chan--lookin' ("but no real relation) -- Jeremy Lin", to be the face of our franchise, along with some other young, and up-and-coming, prospects.

And lastly, we were finally able to plug the money bleeding from our rectum and now it's just slowly seeping through our pores -- fair exchange I guess. We started with $1billion and ended with around $550 million...and 0 new titles to show for it..ouch! But! In the words of the late Rick James..."__________".

Atlanta -> SF Hawks:

Quick summary. Blew up the expensive roster that couldn't get over the hump in a 30 team league. Full on rebuilt, with top tier prospects of Valaciunas, Nerlen Noels, Leonard, Turner, and Beal.

Also, added some serious good value pick ups, Waiters and Liliard, who both could also be top 10 picks (if you believe Ford on Waiters), Fab melo who will be taken around 20. Then added Jrue Holiday and kept Teague to have a promising squad at every position, primed to hopefully compete once Seattle's dynasty starts to rust.

In addition, brought in Milsap, and Garnet to open out the new arena in SF, and get the youths a taste of the playoffs. Oh, and still have some cap flexibility to add a key restricted fa or otehr young piece next offseason.

WRITE UP

Lacking a Mulit Billioinaire Owner or CHI/LA or NY TV Major Market advantage that allows them to Spend like Drunken Sailors - made Houston a fiscally conscious franchise. We have a 10 year old Arena that will need to be updated, but for the course of this game - 2 1/2 seasons - we stood pat.

TEAM: The Rockets came into the game in mid asset acumulation mode. We had a core of nice complementary players, but no one who would be a centerpiece of a championshipo team. I like Lowry / Dragic and Kevin Martin, but they are not Championship type talents.

The Plan was to assemble solid young talent that might develop into top 5 players in their positions (Bismack Biyombo, Trusten Thompson & Nicolas Batum) and get lottery picks for the 2012 and 2013 drafts. To that end - The Rocket acquired Perry Jones and Myers Leonard in '12 (and in a separate transaction we traded for Kendall Marshall & Arnett Moultrie) The Rockets accumulated 5 1st round picks in 2013 which we parlayed into PJ Hairston / Moe Harkless / Alex Poythress and Patric Young. These moves were made to continually balance our roster.

It is probable that 60% of those young rpospects will not pan out and half the remaining will not realize their potential. However, there should be 2 or 3 core players who will be all star in this mix and could move the Rockets into the legitiamte contender category in the next couple of year. There should also be some nice complimentary players who will be solid chemistry guys on desirable contracts. We should be positions to make a splash in FA once we get to the point of only needing one or 2 piece to contend.

Part of the problem we experienced was in behaving in a responsible manner and not overpsending, we were in a position to make creative deals, but the amnesy clause simply make it possible for GMs to circumvent the CBA and make deals without having to fit trade parameters. (I am sure many owners would do exactly that given the opportunity.

Finally, I feel like the roster I have assembled will be much more competitive in 2012 and 2013 season than they have been rated as most GMs disregard the maturing and aging process that affects the players in the NBA every year. Beyond the simple deterioration of the older guys, many of the rosters are not balance with the group of Vets with Youuth. A couple of vets can benefit a young team, but relying on them to mix in key postiions is not realistic. Even teh Rondo/KG chemistry has recently been called out as it was very difficult to have the old school and modern baller mix.

I started off with the big 3 and Rondo. I didn't plan on moving Rondo but a great deal came along and I couldn't refuse. I wanted to make one last playoff run with the big 3 before everyone went their separate ways. I felt I added the perfect young talent at the right time. This franchise was ready to pull the plug and was able to cash in most of my older vets. We were able to get a young all-star PG John Wall after Rondo leaving, great young SG in Paul George, and two great bigs in Al Horford and Roy Hibbert that will be together for many years to come.

My (still young) talent has had the playoff experience and have great chemistry. Everybody knows their role and we have a great head coach in Doc Rivers who knows how to win a championship.

For our future, we will match any offers on John Wall and Paul George. If they do in fact receive any kind of large contract, we still have 3 of our mini-amnesties left to use to keep our cap lower for flexibility. We also want to add an upgraded SF via FA. I feel we can attract one more major piece and compete for a championship. I feel we're not far away from that possibility.

Along with capspace, we have two firsts this season for the 2014 draft (one pick being 11th). Having capspace and picks is also great to have and hope to add more talent through the draft/FA/trade.

I believe we have a great future ahead in Boston and will carry on the winning tradition we're used to seeing.

I have Asik to help with that as a backup C and stiemsma as the 3rd string. Picking up AFA in FA is great for the young core of my team: CP, Blake, Rudy, AFA, Bradley, Asik. This core and future picks/some cap will leave my roster in good hands (could use a miniamnesty on rudy i suppose). we made it to the conference finals my first go at it and should continue to improve, gain fans, and bring in that TV money!!! Outlook
This team is set up for success now and in the future. The youth will continue to grow together and develop into a perennial playoff team. Minnesota has a great back court with Rubio/Maynor at PG. SG is also set up pretty well with Afflalo/Thompson. Small Forward is a position where Minnesota has a lot of flexibility with Iguodala/Barnes. Both players can play and guard multiple positions 2-4. Kevin Love may be the best Power Forward in the league. Greg Monroe can grow to be one of the better centers in the league. Having Brand come off the bench will provide the team with a quality big and good veteran leadership.

Financially this team has no contract that will kill the cap in the future and has flexibility to add valuable players to the team yearly. To build the team the future was not mortgaged by trading away future 1sts. Also the Muskies hold the rights to 11 players that could eventually develop into significant contributors in the future.
