Re: Classic GMAT 2013 Edition: Trade Thread
First trade of the new game and it's a good one!
(We waive Austin Daye and Aaron Gray before this deal takes place)
#1:
Toronto in:
Demarcus Cousins:4,916,974
Chuck Hayes: 5,722,500 / 5,958,750
Marcus Thornton: 8,050,000 / 8,575,000
Jason Thompson: 5,643,750 / 6,037,500 / 6,431,250 / 6,825,000 (2.65M guaranteed)
=24,333,224
Sacramento in:
Rudy Gay: 17,888,931 / 19,317,325 PO
Jonas Valanciunas: 3,526,440 / 3,678,360 T / 4,660,482 T / 6,179,799 Q
2017 1st [worse of NY/DEN]
=21,415,371
Raptors accept. We think Cousins is a better prospect than Valanciunas, and we break Rudy Gay's toxic contract into three much easier contracts to swallow. I'm thrilled. Thanks GhostX!

The Orlando Magic will release Hedo Turkoglu thus taking back 6 million of the 12 he is stealing from us. Goodbye.

We accept. DMC is a bad apple and JVal projects to be a top 5 center within the next 3 yrs + im not planning on being a player in FA so taking on Gay is no problem for me since he's still an allstar caliber player. Good dealing biz

Trade # 2
Miami Heat - Cleveland Cavaliers
Miami sends LeBron James $19,067,500, Mario Chalmers $4,000,000 and their 2014 2nd - total $ 23,067,500; to
Cavs for Kyrie Irving, Tristan Thompson, Andrew Bynum, Cavs 2014 1st - top 3 protected and $1,000,000. Cleveland Salaries: Kyrie Irving 5,607,240, Tristan Thompson 4,062,000, Andrew Bynum 12,250,000 - total $21,920,000
The Salaries work.
Cleveland's prodigal son returns. The Cavs have assembled a strong core to play with LeBron - who won titles with Mario who will now back up a facilitating - PG in Jarrett Jack. Dion is the young DWayne Wade and the combination of bigs and wings will make this the new Eastern Power.
We hate to move Kyrie, but he and Lebron both need the ball and Jarrett and Mario are much better off ball compliments to the Kings game. Kyrie has also missed a number of games over the past 3 years (Played 12 games at Duke - 51 and 59 games with Cleveland). Tristan has been a nice prospect for some time - but he has just decided to be a righty - so work ethic or not - there are issues. And this move allows Miami to corner the market on gimpy centers with Bynum rehabing next to Oden by January!
Great way to get this game rolling. NIce dealing SGAHogan! Good luck

Miami accepts, LeBron goes home after winning one more ring in MIA. Instead of him bolting like he has done in the previous 2 games we felt we should get some value for him, and we have possibly gotten the best young player in the NBA in Kyrie Irving. You have to start with your PG and I am so excited to of gotten this guy. TT is also a very nice young player whilst getting Bynum is a great asset on an ok deal.

Detroit out / New Orleans in:
Brandon Jennings - $7,655,503
Josh Smith - $13,500,000
Total - $21,155,503
New Orleans out / Detroit in:

Jrue Holliday - $9,213,484
Total - $17,521,984
Salaries are within 50% and $5M, and New Orleans is under the tax, so the deal works.
Detroit accepts. Give up some defense, but solve our shooting problems and get a better fit with Drummond and Monroe up front.

Confirmed, good dealing. We give up the best 3pt shooting big and a young pg for a player that cops too much and a great player that can fill our void at SF.

Detroit out / Washington in:
Greg Monroe - $4,086,454
$2M cash
Washiington out / Detroit in:
Brad Beal - $4,319,280
Salaries obviously work.
Detroit accepts. AK takes advantage of my well-known belief that Beal is the next superstar SG - and the fact that one of my big men had to go for a wing.

Wizards accept. Don't know if this would be a deal I'd make in real life due to Monroe's contract situation, but in this game the value is too good to pass up.
