Re: *Pick 3 GMAT* 2.0: Discussion
Pleased that we are back to trade games - I am still concerned about the 3 round draft, though with 15 GMs its will not dilute the teams too much. However, I would suggest AB - BA order for the 1st 2 rounds and I would find a random way to do the 3rd round.
(or do 2 or 4 rounds (ab ba; ba ab) Glad to be back.

Is there a rule section for this format somewhere? I was looking and didn't see it yet.

Originally I planned on playing this round I've gotten pretty busy so I'm gonna have to sit it out. Best of luck, sounds like a fun idea

I'm strongly considering signing up, but a little hesitant due to the time commitment. Can somebody give me a cliff note version of what would be required of me?

You have two teams - one in the East and one in the West.
You draft 3 players from the current NBA, and then when the draft is over you randomly get assigned a team in each conference with the remaining players that weren't draft on it.
You make trades and free agent signings and so on.
You negotiate through emails with other GM's.
It takes about 20-30 days, but really most days your just responding to emails. There are days when we do the draft, and the 2017 draft and free agency and so on.
It's fun, and this game is just a different way to level the playing the field.

What the hell, I've never participated in a GMAT so I'll give it a whirl. Closest I've come was an NBA sim league like 10 years ago.

Man, that's rough DN. Here's to a speedy recovery but glad to have you as a co-commish.
Great - that means Carls teams will meet in the finals with all the free time he will have

Speedy recovery amigo!

Re: *Pick 3 GMAT* 2.0: Discussion
So with teams being assigned after the draft, what is the incentive to try to draft good players or is that the point? I mean I could have the first draft and pick Greg Monroe, Timofey Mozgov, and Joakim Noah just to be mean to someone getting stuck with that foundation.

My understanding is that you get to keep the three players you draft, as well as any of the other players on your designated team.
For example:
LeBron
Brook Lopez
Iman Shumpert
The Cavs get neither LeBron nor Iman, and the Nets do not get Brook, but you get those three, and whoever gets the Cavs and Nets starts without those three players.
Correct me if I'm wrong, Ness.

Haha would if I could but I just took a manager job and between having a loaded schedule and getting my butt chewed out daily can't make it work this round. Will join again in the future!
