First of all, I am really happy with my backcourt of Tim Hardaway and Kobe. Majerle is an excellent 3 and D guy, David Lee and Bynum are pretty good combination in the front court while Bynum is a beast down low on defense.

Writeup:

I believe the sizable advantage we have in the front court with Kareem (Kareem in the playoffs: 34.6 PPG 17.7 RPG 4.1 APG 1.7 SPG 3.5 BPG 32.4 PER 64.6 ts% 33.2 WS/48) and Nance will give the opposing team a lot of trouble.

We also have wings that should give both Hardaway and Kobe some trouble in: Payton, Hornacek and Ariza. All though World B Free is often overlooked; he was a terrific scorer/slasher who was very unselfish with the ball which will allow him to thrive alongside scoring threats like: Kareem, Nance, Hornacek.

Payton/Kareem connection is better than Kobe and a bunch of non-defenders.

KNguYear has clear advantage on the perimeter with Hardaway and Kobe, the 2nd and 3rd best players in series. Biedrins playing 2 minutes next to Bol or Kareem will be a disaster only matched by 8 minutes of Chandler next to Bynum. Nance/KAJ is a really nice fit. This is really close for me. I think the Chandler fit swings this for me.

Smash takes this one. Having 4 great defenders in his starting lineup against Knguy's 0, and still having the best scorer in the matchup, it's pretty clearly him

Why did people go so hard on KN's defense? 3 of his starters are above average in that department, and he's bringing Chandler off the bench. I do love Smash's team though.

I don't get it either. Kobe and Majerle are both good defenders on the wing as is Pietrus off the bench. I don't see a major lack of defense on his team besides Lee.

Same here. Lee and Chandler splitting minutes at the 4 would have been problematic, but otherwise I didn't see his defense as a major issue. I was actually kind of torn with this matchup but obviously others weren't. :lol:

Yeah I know you were but the others seemed to have a clearer idea of who they thought was better.

If anything, I thought Bynum's strength was his defense. I also did this writeup with almost no knowledge of Smash's roster, his roster wasn't posted on the thread. But yeah I was surprised at the lashing my defense took, but kudos to Smash, he built a good team, I've had some tough draws lately
