Re: Pacific Division Draft - R1 - Fadeaway vs Timmaytime
Starters
C - Sam Lacey (1974-75)
PF - Charles Barkley (1992-93)
SF - Jamaal Wilkes (1975-76)
SG - Mitch Richmond (1995-96)
PG - Baron Davis (2006-07)
Bench
C - Andrew Bogut (2015-16)
F - Luc Mbah a Moute (2016-17)
G - Steve Blake
Rotations
C - Lacey (32), Bogut (16)
PF - Barkley (40), Mbah a Moute (8)
SF - Wilkes (34), Mbah a Moute (14)
SG - Richmond (38), Blake (10)
PG - Davis (40), Blake (8)
Strategy
Our top priority will be to push the ball and create good looks in transition. We've got elite rebounding across the frontcourt, and all our starters averaging between 1.2 and 2.1 spg, we should be able to generate plenty of opportunities either by completing our defense with a board or by forcing turnovers. With Davis at the controls and Sir Charles doing his runaway freight train impression, this team will be tough to stop on the break, especially with Wilkes and Richmond also being very comfortable in an uptempo system. When the game slows down we will rely Chuck's versatile and efficient offensive game, which we don't think Lucas or Diaw are really equipped to handle, and our explosive perimeter trio provides ample support for the MVP. Lacey will help to grease the wheels with his tremendous passing, as will Bogut to a lesser extent off the bench.
Defensively, we're going to play it pretty much straight up with Wilkes guarding Magic, and hopefully using his length and quickness to bother him a bit. We'll also stagger the minutes to ensure that our ace wing defender Mbah a Moute gets as much time on Magic as possible. We believe we have a solid overall defensive framework with Chuck being backed up by excellent rim protection from our center tag team of Lacey and Bogut.
Good luck Timmay.

'79 Robert Parish - 14.6 - 17/12/1.5, 2.9 BPG, 53% TS
'14 Goran Dragic - 14.4 - 20/3/6, 60% TS, 41% from 3
'98 Eddie Jones - 12.6 - 17/4/3, 59% TS, 39% from 3, 2nd team All-Defense
'85 Magic Johnson - 11.7 - 18/6/12.5, 64% TS, 1st team All-NBA
'64 Jerry Lucas - 11.2 - 18/17.5/2.5, 58% TS (led league), ROY, 2nd team All-NBA
'06 Boris Diaw - 10.5 - 13/7/6, 56% TS
'79 Kermit Washington - 7.6 - 11/10/1.5, 1.5 BPG, 60% TS
'81 Brian Taylor - 7.4 - 10/2/5.5, 60% TS, 38% from 3
Total: 90/90
Goran Dragic (20) / Magic Johnson (18) / Brian Taylor (10)
Eddie Jones (20) / Goran Dragic (15) / Brian Taylor (13)
Magic Johnson (20) / Eddie Jones (15) / Boris Diaw (13)
Jerry Lucas (18) / Boris Diaw (15) / Kermit Washington (15)
Robert Parish (28) / Jerry Lucas (20)
First off, we have good defenders to throw on Richmond and Barkley in EJ, Lucas and Kermit. If we can stifle Fade's top two scorers in any way we should have a huge advantage. We'll also be able to help off of whoever is playing at center with Parish or Lucas, who are both excellent help defenders. This will help with Barkley and also on Baron Davis drives
Goran, EJ and Magic fit like a glove offensively, and are hard to stop. Magic can run the show, while EJ and Dragic move off the ball, or Dragic can run the show, or Diaw, or Taylor. We have endless playmaking on this team (combined in their seasons they averaged 39 assists per game)
Lucas, EJ and Dragic are all good enough offensive players to take advantage of bad defenders, and with 18 minutes of Magic at point guard, either somebody is getting destroyed or somebody is guarding up. We'll happily take either one.
Fade has a nice starting lineup, but we think we have the matchup advantages, the playmaking and the depth to win this one

Re: Pacific Division Draft - R1 - Fadeaway vs Timmaytime
First, Timmay's rotatin confused me as feel like it is over complicated with people sharing the floor but as different spots. Doesn't affect my vote but not sure who to vote for and just going through my thoughts. I think Timmay has a very good offense with good spacing/balance. Davis/Richmond/Barkley should provide Fade with a lot of firepower as well. I think Fade is a little better set to defend Timmay than the other way around for this one.

Fade has even better playmaking than Timmay. I also think Barkley is going to go town against Lucas, and Wilkes should have some impact on Magic. Overall, I like Fade's offense and defense more than Timmay's.

Re: Pacific Division Draft - R1 - Fadeaway vs Timmaytime
This is surprising. Fade has a solid team, but Timmay has a pretty incredible range of options. I think taking early Magic was a bit of a mistake though, and could have benefitted from a later version of him while sacrificing some FGA on the bench, but you would likely have gotten my vote regardless

A sweep with Fade advancing. To me, it came down to Fadeaway having the 3 best scorers and better defensive match ups. Magic is great but wasn't enough for me in this one and seems like for a lot of other people as well.
