1. Kevin Durant - 2017 - 16.5
2. Bob McAdoo - 1975 - 22.2 -
3. Andre Iguodala - 2017 - 5.5
4. Latrell Sprewell - 1994 - 17.3
5. Harrison Barnes - 2015 - 8.0
6. Nick Van Exel - 1998 - 11.6
7. Pat McCaw - 2017 - 3.5
8. Clifford Ray - 1975 - 7.0*.85 = 5.95 = 6.0

Total: 89.6/90

Nick Van Exel (36) / McCaw(12)
Sprewell (36) / Iguodala (8) / McCaw (4)
Durant (26) / Iguodala (22)
Barnes (30) / Durant (10) / McAdoo (8)
McAdoo (28) / Ray (20)

Defensively, Kareem is impossible to stop. My team will send some doubles and do what can to limit him but ultimately, our defense of Kareem will be hoping McAdoo can match his scoring on the other end. Durant will guard Nance with Barnes on Ariza. I think Durant having height and quickness advantage on Nance will cause him issues.

Offensively, my team spacing will pull Kareem away from the hoop as everyone has to be guarded on the perimeter. This shooting combined with everyone's ability to put it on the floor should allow for penetration. I think I have put together Morey's dream lineup as I think my team should be able to go all-in on Layups/3Ps to have a very efficient offense.

Overall, I think Kareem is great but I think McAdoo/Durant combo will be able to take him down.

World B Free Again

Rotation:

G Gary Payton (38) / Hornacek (10)
G World B Free (24) / Hornacek (26)
F Trevor Ariza (32) / World B Free (16)
F Larry Nance (40) / Ariza (8) /
C Kareem Abdul Jabbar (38) / Bol (10)

FGA

1975-76 KAJ (18.7) … MVP
1984-85 Larry Nance (14.4) … All-Star
1980-81 World B. Free (17.8) … 24/3/5 one year removed from all-star game
2003-04 Gary Payton (12.5) … 15/5/5 one year removed from all-star game
1991-92 Jeff Hornacek (15.3) … All-Star
2008-09 Trevor Ariza (7.3) … NBA Champ
1989-90 Manute Bol (2.3)…
2011-12 Andris Biedrins (1.4)

Total: 89.7/90

Writeup:

Offensively my two best players peak KAJ and Nance IMO are primed to drop a lot of points on Durant and Mcadoo as both should struggle guarding their bigger (Kareem vs Bob) and stronger counterparts. We will use these matchups to our advantage by running our offense through KAJ, and allow GP, Hornacek and KAJ to consistently hit Nance who excelled at cutting, catching it in good position and finishing around the basket.

We’ll consistently attack the front courts lack of size by isolating Peak KAJ on McAdoo, with KAJ being an elite playmaker that’ll allow our entire teams efficiency to rise when the inevitable double comes.

Defensively we have Gary Payton to slow down Exel and make it harder for him to initiate the offense, Hornacek and Ariza should also make the game harder for both Durant and Sprewell. KAJ often gets underrated defensively; but he should do a good job on McAdoo, and he also has the elite help defense/shot blocking from Nance to lean on too.

Finally scoring wise we have a lot of options outside of peak KAJ, peak Larry Nance, we have the scoring machine World B Free, all-star version (20ppg) of Hornacek and finally Payton who could still consistently create scoring opportunities.

I'm voting for BdeRegt, although this is close. I like his defense and rebounding better. He may not have the flash of scorers like Free and Hornacek, but I think his bench makes up for that.

I think he matches up well with Smash3. His SF combo wins the day for me.

Kareem is the better player and will probably have the bigger overall impact, but like any traditional big man he'll have his own difficulties dealing with McAdoo's perimeter-based game. I also think Smash's lack of reliable 3-point shooters will make it just that bit easier for Bde's defenders to help on Kareem. Depth outside of Hornacek is also a concern with Ariza playing far more minutes than his skills at this point would justify.

I love me some Gary Payton. I don't love me some Lakers Gary Payton. That being said, KAJ will likely have a huge series, and even with McAdoo being by far the best 2nd banana in this matchup, I like Smash's squad as a whole a lot more.

i don't buy the Spree/Van Exel fit- and I think KAJ with some excellent secondary players and a dynamic scorer in world b free can overcome the excellent Durant/McAdoo duo

I'll reserve my vote a bit longer as I'm undecided at the moment

OK I'll go with Smash by a hair. Ultimately I think Kareem will have a bigger impact than KD, and the supporting casts are close.

Still need a vote here. These games don't work if you don't vote. Especially people who have had time to sign up for new game, you clearly have time to check board and vote.

Talent is very close here. Due to playing styles, there will be some exploitable defensive assignments both ways. I think bde is better suited to exploit these gaps.
