Draft Order
Draft Rules:
1. Subject to the rules to be set out below, players from the 1989-90 season to the 2016-17 season will be available to be drafted. You can draft players that came into the league before 1989 but the season you choose can't be before 1989-90.
2. You will be required to draft a total of 8 players.
3. When making each pick, you must state which division the season you are using will be taken from. For example, if you choose Shaquille O'Neal - Pacific, you could use any of his seasons with the Lakers or the Suns.
4. Each of your picks must be linked to a different division from the previous one. By the end of the draft you must have all 6 of the current NBA divisions (Atlantic, Central, Southeast, Southwest, Northwest, Pacific) represented on your roster, which includes any predecessor franchises (per Basketball Reference) from the ones currently in those divisions (e.g. Seattle SuperSonics).
5. Each player you select must have played at least 50% of regular season games in the season selected. For players who changed teams in-season, they must have played at least 50% of their games for that season in the chosen division.
6. The winner of the draft will be determined by a combination of rankings and playoffs. First, everyone will rank the top 4 teams and submit those to me via PM. The 4 with the most points will go into a 4-team playoff tournament to determine the winner. Both semifinals as well as the championship game will be won by the first team to get 5 votes in their favour.
7. You must state the specific season of the player you choose to draft. You don't have to do it right away when you make your selection but you must state it on your team roster page before the playoff tournament begins.
8. Your team will be allowed a combined total of 90.0 FGA corresponding with the specific seasons indicated for each player.
9. We will be doing a modified snake draft. It will go like this: ABBABABA
10. Players will get a maximum of a 2-hour window to make their selection when they are on the clock. If you still have not chosen a player by then, you will be skipped. Also, if you know ahead of time that you won't be available to make your pick on the clock then please PM your selection to myself or another participant. NOTE: If you miss one pick and have failed to make it by the time your next pick comes around, you will be skipped.
11. The clock will be turned off between 12 midnight and 9 AM EDT.
12. Draft order will be completely randomised.
13. After you have made your draft selection, please quote and/or PM the person that goes after you so they will know that it is their turn and they are on the clock. You may not change your pick after it has been made, even if the next person in the order has not picked yet.
