Upside Down - Draft Thread

The clock for this draft will start 9 AM EDT on Friday.

Draft Rules:

1. Subject to the rules to be set out below, players from the 1989-90 season to the 2016-17 season will be available to be drafted. You can draft players that came into the league before 1990 but the season you choose can't be before 1989-1990.

2. You will be required to draft a total of 8 players. All will be required to play at least 8 minutes in your rotations.

3. This is an upside down draft. You basically start off with your bench and work your way up.

Based on highest career accolades:
Rounds 1,2,3 - No all-stars A,B,A
Rounds 4,5 - Highest accolade 3rd team, all-star or worse B,A
Rounds 6, 7 - All players except MVPs available B,B
Round 8 - No restrictions A

Edit to clarify - you cannot select any players who made all-star OR all-NBA in rounds 1,2,3

4. Each player you select must have played at least 50% of regular season games in the season selected.

5. The winner of the draft will be determined by a ranking, followed by a four team playoff.

6. You must state the specific season of the player you choose to draft. You don't have to do it right away when you make your selection but you must state it on your team roster page before the playoffs/rankings begin.

7. Your team will be allowed a combined total of 90.0 FGA corresponding with the specific seasons indicated for each player.

8. We will be doing a modified upside down snake draft as shown in #3 above.

9. Players will get a maximum of a 2-hour window to make their selection when they are on the clock. If you still have not chosen a player by then, you will be skipped. Also, if you know ahead of time that you won't be available to make your pick on the clock then please PM your selection to myself or another participant. NOTE: If you miss one pick and have failed to make it by the time your next pick comes around, you will be skipped.

10. The clock will be turned off between 12 midnight and 9 AM EDT.

11. Draft order will be completely randomized.

12. After you have made your draft selection, please quote and/or PM the person that goes after you so they will know that it is their turn and they are on the clock. The quoting is a courtesy. The clock starts after the last pick, regardless. You may not change your pick after it has been made, even if the next person in the order has not picked yet.

Team Roster Page Rules:

1. You will be responsible for creating a roster page for your fantasy team. Here are the things that you will be required to include on your roster page:

. Players
. Rotations
. Draft selections
. The most important of all, you must show the total FGA per player on your roster AND a total sum of each players FGA to display that it is under the required 90.0 FGA

-All of the above must be completed before playoffs/rankings begin.

***Do NOT sign up if you aren't able to check the draft thread at least twice a day***

The draft will be maintained at this spreadsheet. Please help keep it updated.

thought about going pure cheapness but i'll go for talent while still being pretty cheap.

Lamar odom. i think he's at least close to BPA. keeps me flexible.

Could be my fifth starter at a position of some scarcity or a great bench piece. First team all-D, 39.5% from three and 8.9 win shares for 7.0 FGAs. Cheap and keeps my options open.

Ive always wanted this guy and never grabbed him early enough. Can defend either guard spot at a high level, create for the second unit and make an open 3, all for under 5.5 FGA, give me nate mcmillan.

I have no clue who the BPA is, but I'll go with Serge Ibaka. Could potentially be my backup PF and C. He had half as many blocks (3.7) as FGA (7.4) in 2012, which is pretty great.

This guy is always useful. James Posey.

Great versatility, can shoot threes, low FGA, and plays great defense. Will be useful in any team build.

Without doing much research, I landed on Mike Conley & Bo Outlaw.

I can quote in a little while but feel free to beat me to it.

Gobert was deemed ineligible due to his All-NBA status.

(My bad, thought this was the discussion thread.)
