Cross-Division Duos Draft? 4 rounds (one wildcard). Not sure which division and which years. Most likely will need to limit one all nba/mvp per pair. Been a while since we did division draft too.

Thoughts?

Does this mean the pair has to be from the same division?

No, I was thinking about mixing it up (one player from east division, one player from west division (i.e-atlantic and northwest, central and pacific, southeast and southwest, one wildcard)

We seem to be getting 15-16 guys per draft for the last few now, seems like this board is back.

We haven't done a duo's draft in a while. I like the challenges they present. I would play this game.

Still interested in doing Decades Tournament (first round 00s-18, top 8 advance, second round 80s-90s, top 4 advance, final round pre 1980)

Love this idea except I wonder about doing full pre-80s squads. The stars wouldn't be an issue but I for one would struggle to fill out an eight-man roster even in a four-man draft.

How about first round 70s-90s, second round 80s-00s, third round 2010s?

70s-90s could get a little thin if up to 16 players as well. 00-18 1st round, 90s 2nd round, 80s third round? I think 90s can handle 8 players

That works. The challenge now is to find 16 players, although we've managed it a couple of times recently.

If we get less than 16 we can get to eight in other ways, like the current game.

I pictured the top 8 or top 4 advancing to the next round by vote which is what we did with the last tournament game, it's a little different with playoffs since you could have one of the best teams and not make the next round if you draw the wrong matchup

Honestly get started with another one. We shouldn't have two drafts running simultaneously but one Playoffs and one draft is fine.

Idea.... how about a seasons draft (weather seasons)? Two guys whose birthdays fall in each of spring (March-May), summer (June-August), autumn (September-Nov) and winter (December-Feb).

I'm just wondering if there's a twist that could make the individual rounds a bit different from a standard draft. Maybe make it so players can only be taken in one of the rounds, i.e. you can take Shaq in the 00-18 round but not in the 90s. With the numbers decreasing each round it shouldn't be too onerous of a restriction.

Edit: On second thought that would really stack the deck in favour of the top picks in the 90s.

Anyone have any new creative innovative ideas out there (Dr P, Laimbeer, Fade)? Nothing stands out to me imo when glancing at the first post and other posts in this thread. I have been thinking for a while something that might give a new spark but I got nothing at the moment. I have ideas such as restricting the list of winners in these games to see some new faces or drafting young players only with exception but I don’t know. I even looked at other forum games but I couldn’t find anything when looking unless some of you know which other forums play these kind of games that I can take a look at. I don’t mind running it either depending on how much I like the idea.

We never did the Accolades only draft. I.e. one from MVP, FMVP, ASMVP, DPOY, 6MOY, MIP, ROY and HOFer.

How about a minutes upside down draft? The round you pick a player dictates how many minutes he plays in your rotation. I'm not crazy about ten round drafts but it's tough to make a good incline with eight and this is one of those drafts where the interest would build rather than wane.

Round / Minutes
1 /8
2 /12
3 / 16
4/ 20
5 / 24
6/ 24
7/ 28
8/ 32
9 / 36
10 / 40
