PG: Kevin Johnson
SG: Dan Majerle
SF: Paul George
PF: Charles Oakley
C: Patrick Ewing

G: Danny Ainge
F: Jared Dudley
C: Cole Aldrich
PG: Johnson (40) / Ainge (8)
SG: Majerle (37) / Ainge (11)
SF: George (40) / Dudley (7) / Majerle (1)
PF Oakley (36) / Dudley (12)
C: Ewing (40) / Aldrich (8)
1990 Patrick Ewing 20.4 ALLNBA
2014 Paul George 17.0 ALLNBA
1989 Kevin Johnson 13.9 ALLNBA
1992 Charles Oakley 4.9
1995 Dan Majerle 12.6 Allstar
2009 Jared Dudley 4.2
1995 Danny Ainge 5.7
20014 Cole Aldrich 1.3
80/80
KJ and George should take the pressure off of Ewing more than King and Lowry will KG. I'm not sure King can move his feet well enough vs George, and switching that weakens big ticket's impact on the interior, or leaves King on Majerle another tough matchup. Gameplan is to cut off the piant and make Kyle "playoff decompress" Lowry win it from the outside.
Also didnt think i'd have a bench advantage in any matchup, but here we are.

C: Andrew Bogut (2010: 13.2 FGA) 3rd team All-NBA, .161 WS/48, 3.4 BPM, 15.9 pts, 10.2 pts, 2.5 blk, .540 TS%
PG: Pablo Prigioni (2014: 2.9 FGA) .127 WS/48, 0.6 BPM, 3.8 pts, 3.5 ast, 2.0 reb, 1.0 stl (7.1 pts, 6.4 ast, 3.6 reb, 1.9 stl per 36), .642 TS%, 46.4% 3pt
SF: Joe Ingles (2017: 5.5 FGA) .123 WS/48, 2.7 BPM, 7.1 pts, 3.2 reb, 2.7 ast (10.6 pts, 4.8 reb, 4.1 ast, 1.8 stl per 36), .604 TS%, 44.1% 3pt
PF: Reggie Evans (2012: 1.3 FGA) .079 WS/48, -2.2 BPM, 1.9 pts, 4.8 reb (4.9 pts, 12.7 reb per 36)
Total FGA: 79.8 / 80
Rotation:
Kyle Lowry (40) / Pablo Prigioni (8)
Doug Christie (40) / Joe Ingles (8)
Bernard King (40) / Joe Ingles (8)
Kevin Garnett (36) / Joe Ingles (12)
Andrew Bogut (36) / Reggie Evans (8) / Kevin Garnett (4)
- We have the better frontcourt. Peak Bogut is the superior player to Oakley as a 16ppg player and a more complete defensive anchor. KG still has higher impact than peak Ewing does. We plan to take as much advantage as possible of Oakley starting, as that is peli's weakness. We are in a good position to, as with Bogut being the primary defender on Ewing, we can use KG's all time great help defense skills to help off Oakley to help put a 2nd guy on Ewing often. Compounding this is Ewing is a mediocre passer hence once of the reasons he's not as trustworthy as a batman, he could struggle creating plays out of the extra defensive attention.
- On the perimeter Bernard King is the best scorer at 26ppg .62 TS% (and best scorer in the series overall). Lowry having Johnson on him is one of the easier defensive matchups of the perimeter all-stars. We're going to use Christie on George here and King on Majerle, along with Lowry on Johnson.
- Ingles is the best bench player in my opinion. I have Ingles as a better player than any version of Dudley, and 2009 Dudley (his 2nd year) is not his best version. I'm not sold on 35 year old Danny Ainge any more than I am Prigioni.

Very similarly built teams here too. In an otherwise completely even matchup, I have to give the ever so slight edge to Dr. Positivity for having the much better second frontcourt option in Bogut vs Oakley. Whereas KG and Bogut can often double-team Ewing, Oakley and Ewing cannot do the same with KG, as Bogut is a good enough offensive playmaker to cause some damage. I think he would cause more damage than Oakley if/when both teams decide to double up on KG or Ewing.

Frontcourt advantage goes to Dr. P again but Peli had the backcourt edge. KJ is better than Lowry, Majerle better than Christie and I PG is the better two way wing, benches are about even. Peli just has the better all around group and I prefer their fit and balance slightly.
Vote Pelifan in a close one.

I don't think Dr P has a better offensive player than '90 Ewing, nor better overall scoring nor a better bench. Johnson/George/Ewing should do it.

I'm going to disagree with wack as I don't see KG as the calibre of scorer who needs to be doubled. King is a beast but PG will make him earn every point. Dr P has a valid point in that KG can disrupt Ewing somewhat by helping off Oakley, but pel has enough on the perimeter (particularly in the form of KJ who is a playoff monster) to get by.

I think the mpg are way too heavy on Andrew Bogut, who only played 32mpg that season and is very injury prone. I also think Lowry will tire out, as he is prone to. I think everyone is playing way too many mpg, except KG.
This will be a war of attrition because both teams will get so tired.

Playoff minutes are different from regular season minutes. Certain players do play about 40 minutes in the playoffs. George, KJ, Ewing all played 40 minutes or more in the playoffs per game in the chosen season. I'm sure the same is true of KG King and Lowry

These teams were 1 & 2 in my rankings, so I feel validated Fit is good for both, but pel has a very slight talent advantage in the SL with a better bench to boot.

Lowry always gets exhausted and fails late in the playoffs.
KG didn't make the playoffs in 05, and King played only 6 games.
