Hey NYG. When do you think we are starting? Do you think it will be June 1? Also, how long do you want it to last? Will we do phases like last time (I.e. draft, FA days)?

June 1 seems good.. let’s try to make it 2 weeks because the draft always takes long no matter how well its planned. I’ll work on a schedule.

Which would you take? Atlantic, Central are both taken

I’d say my preferences after Pacific would go:
Northwest
Southeast
Southwest

Southwest seems like it’s going to be a huge amount of work.
Go ahead an recruit and I will take the Suns plus the whichever conference is left over. I do enjoy learning about other teams roster situations.

I think Portland or Utah would be great. Any team in the division looks fun really, so I don’t mind.
Jredsaz, what do you think?

Let me know if you guys need minor help with anything. I don't have enough time to fully run a team but can jump in here and there as needed.

Works for me!

Works for me. Just a suggestion, but maybe it might be a decent idea to start the pre-draft trade negotiations a little earlier just so we don’t have to be on our phones all the time. More time to discuss may make this a more realistic and less reactive mock. Also, we are trying to make this realistic, right? Assume the roles of the actual current GMs and not what we think is best for the teams?

One more thing. What posts will be up? What format do we need our team pages to be in?

That’s fine, it’s up to you guys. I just think starting early makes people feel the need to participate and make trades when really at most there’s usually 1 or 2 pre-draft deals completed if any. I figure 2 days would limit the pre-draft trade activity a bit to keep it more in line with reality.

Also, we are trying to make this realistic, right? Assume the roles of the actual current GMs and not what we think is best for the teams?

Yes, just to remind everyone participating, we are going for reality, not what we would do. So a team like Cleveland is more likely to make rebuilding moves, teams like the Spurs are historically more patient and minor in their off-seasons, etc.

One more thing. What posts will be up? What format do we need our team pages to be in?

We’ll probably need a roster thread and I like using the Capulator at Shamsports because you can see where you are from a cap perspective.
