Steal Draft (90s and forward / 85.0 FGA) - Draft Thread (Clock is off)

Post#1 » by Laimbeer » Mon Jul 9, 2018 1:30 pm

Draft rules:

1. Subject to the rules to be set out below, players from the 1989-90 season to the 2017-18 season will be available to be drafted. You can draft players that came into the league before 1989 but the season you choose can't be before 1989-90.

2. Stealing : Each team is allowed to "steal" a previously drafted player when it's their turn to choose. The stolen player represents their pick for that round. You may exercise your steal in any round, and can steal any player previously drafted. You are required to exercise your one steal.

Each team may only steal once, and a team can only be stolen from once. There is no restriction forbidding a player from being stolen multiple times. Steals will not change the order of the draft. If you are stolen from, you will not necessarily pick next. The draft continues in the prescribed order. The draft will consist of nine rounds since, with steals, it will take nine rounds to accumulate eight players.

3. Your team will be allowed a combined total of 85.0 FGA corresponding with the specific seasons indicated for each player. Each of your final eight players must play a minimum of 8 minutes in your rotations.

4. Each player you select must have played at least 50% of regular season games in the season selected.

5. We will be doing a SPECIAL modified snake draft. It will go like this: ABBAABABA

6. Players will get a maximum of a 2-hour window to make their selection when they are on the clock. If you still have not chosen a player by then, you will be skipped. Also, if you know ahead of time that you won't be available to make your pick on the clock then please PM your selection to myself or another participant. NOTE: If you miss one pick and have failed to make it by the time your next pick comes around, you will be skipped.

7. The clock will be turned off between 12 midnight and 9 AM EDT. Edit: The clock will be turned off for rounds 8 and 9 since picking out of order or missing picks could significantly impact the strategy in this game.

8. Draft order will be completely randomized.

9. After you have made your draft selection, please quote and/or PM the person that goes after you so they will know that it is their turn and they are on the clock. You may not change your pick after it has been made, even if the next person in the order has not picked yet.

10. We will determine our champion on a straight ranking system.
