please unstick the Late Summer GMAT sign up. If anyone wants to do a GMAT game they will need a new sign up - this one has been out there for over 60 days. (New sign up?)

I'm ready for the one we tried to start a couple weeks ago. Not sure if we will be able to get anything going at this point though.

Better be something quick like a pairs draft. This one is draining me of my will to love.

Anybody feel the urge to play a game where the usual suspects (in terms of stars) aren't available? It seems like it's been a while since we did anything to really narrow the player pool other than changing the time period.

Even when the theme of the draft attracts a less "familiar" name like Dame or B-Roy, they often end up as the fourth wheel on a stacked team. Hell, even guys like Clyde and Reggie who were #1 options on multiple contenders are often no higher than third in the pecking order. Sometimes it feels like a waste for guys that good to be so underutilised.

I don't really have an idea right now, but am I alone on this island or does anyone else feel similar?

I would be interested in a no 1st team all NBA draft, but in the past it seems like people weren't crazy about drafting teams that wouldn't win the title in real life. Maybe no 1st team All NBA + 1 exception, so a team has a superstar but their 2nd option might be a guy like Roy

Yeah I know, that's why I asked the question before proposing anything. Although I will say that the Warriors might be colouring expectations of what it takes to win a title in a typical season. Even if you take out the absolute elite-level guys, in this format you can build a team with enough overall star power to beat a lot of real-life champions.

As far as the restriction, I would prefer to take out any player with multiple First Team All-NBA appearances. That leaves guys like Ewing, Clyde, Hill, and Zo still in the pool, but also keeps the less popular names like Roy, C-Webb, and Rose viable as primary options.

I can't draft Giannis and PG once this regular season is over. I think both guys are easy first round picks in a '90 on draft now

Giannis, probably. He is tough to build around, but he is efficient and creates mismatches which both will help his draft stock.

PG, I disagree his value changes at all. He is currently taking 21 shots per game. He isnt good enough to warrant that kind of FGA allocation, so I think this season is kind of useless in the scope of these games. Folks will continue to use his younger cheaper seasons and take him in the late 2nd/3rd is my prediction.
