WINTER '19 GMAT - TRADE THREAD

Post#1 » by Blazer50 » Thu Nov 29, 2018 2:04 am

Non-Taxpaying Teams
Outgoing salary Maximum incoming salary

$0 to $6,533,333 - 175% of the outgoing salary, plus $100,000
$6,533,334 to $19.6 million The outgoing salary plus $5 million
$19.6 million and up 125% of the outgoing salary, plus $100,000
Taxpaying teams can take back up to 125% of their outgoing salaries, plus $100,000, no matter how much salary the team is sending away. For example, a taxpaying team trading away $10 million in salaries can acquire one or more replacement players making up to $12.6 million.

Taxpaying Teams
Outgoing salary Maximum incoming salary
Any 125% of the outgoing salary, plus $100,000

Number the trades! One GM posts the trade, the other one quotes the post and accepts - the trade is then official and you can update rosters (no more waiting for approvals, if the trade does not work itll be quoted by a 3rd party and we will find a way to make the trade legal or cancel it).

Trade 3

Pacers and Knicks announce Deal
Indiana has agreed to send the expiring contracts of Tyreke Evans ($12,400,000) and Kyle O'Qunii ($4,449,000) (16.849M); to
New York Knicks for Tim Hardaway Jr, ($17,325,000) and D Dotson ($1,378,242) (18.708M)

Salaries are within $5M so trade works under CBA
Pacers feel this TH Jr is entering his prime and has fully adapted to the league as noted by his increased production and efficiency and Damyean Dotson is proving to be a proto typical 3&D wing with his lenght and scoring ability. These guy are a better mix with our core and window of opportunity to be a major factor in the East. Great Dealing Felix.

I'm happy with the deal as well. I didn't want to pay to get rid of future salary to free up capspace. Dotson is a nice player but doesn't change the future to much. Actually Evans and O Quinn are nice players that could turn around assets, so long they both starters for the Knicks.

Deal. Couldn't turn down three 1st round picks with one being likely in the lotto. Hornets kick start the rebuild.

Memphis accepts.

Love Conley and think he is an absolute stud but a Shai/JJJ core with Dillon Brooks and Kyle Anderson slotting in brings in the new wave of GritnGrind. Good dealing!

Not a huge Thon believer, but think Donte will be a stud. Tough to give them both, but saves me having to make more small trades. And I get back some good role players to keep the team going in the right direction. Good dealing.

I love Goberts game emensley, a real throwback.
But in this modern NBA and what it is transitioning to, Gobert will not fit in Mitchells prime and as such our window to compete.
Its better to stock up on picks to use as assets to get players whom can fit in mitchells prime.
I feel a true win-win, both teams getting what they wanted after a prolonged negotiation.
Utah Accept, thanking Gobert and wishing him the best.
After your first, you change, you mature, you dont just jump into things.

After getting dunked on for the first time, life becomes complex.

Portland Confirms. Tough negotiation - but Blazers needed an influx of talent. Bogdan and Nikola are both elite long range gunners to stretch the floor but they can also dive, dish & finish inside. This deal also gives Portland the size they have needed to counter some big lineups. CJ will be missed but with the emergence of Nik Stauskis - Simons and Gary Trent Jr. the Blazers have definitely improved their talent level. And Julius Randle will give the Blazers a reliable inside presence who can play the 4 or the 5 spots. Win win deal.

Salaries:
Spoiler:
C.J. McCollum $25,759,766 ... $27,556,959 ... $29,354,152
Al-Farouq Aminu $6,957,105
Seth Curry $2,795,000. total. $35.6M

Nikola Mirotic ......... $12,500,000
Bogdan Bogdanovic ... $9,000,000 ... $8,529,386
Julius Randle .......... $8,641,000 ... $9,073,050. total. 30.14M

I'm on a streak.

Trade #009

The Atlanta Hawks send Markelle Fultz
to
the Phoenix Suns for Troy Daniels, Jamal Crawford & rights to swap 2019 first round picks

Spoiler:
$4,771,140 + $5,000,000 > $8,339,880

Phoenix gets their PGotF, Atlanta gets more chances at the ping pong balls. Fun fact: Jamal Crawford gets waived and is now on the Atlanta payroll twice. Daniel Hamilton also got waived.

Phoenix accepts. Crawford and Daniels don't really have a place in our future, so this deal was really just agreeing to a 2019 1st round pick swap in exchange for taking a flyer on Fultz. He'll come off the bench behind our acquisition in the next trade I'm about to post. We're happy to do this, since we're just trying to collect youth right now, and if we're lucky he'll figure it out and become an important piece for us.

Good dealing Luessi!

#10

Suns get:
D'Angelo Russell - $7,019,698
Kenneth Faried - $13,764,045
Jared Dudley - $9,530,000
Total: $30,313,743

Nets get:
Josh Jackson - $6,041,520 / $7,059,480 / $8,930,242
Dragan Bender - $4,661,280
Richaun Holmes - $1,600,520
Ryan Anderson - $20,421,546 / $21,264,635($15,643,750 guaranteed)
Phoenix 2019 2nd
Total: $32,724,866

$30,313,743 * 1.25 = $37,892,179 > $32,724,866 = works.

D'Angelo is perhaps not the ideal fit next to Booker since their skillsets tend to replicate each other, but he has so much potential, and still only 22, and we think we we got a talent upgrade here. Jackson is struggling to put it together, and since we're projecting Bridges to be a long-term 3&D piece in our starting lineup, it made sense to move Jackson for a PG. We think Bender is a talented player who never really got a chance to show what he could do in Phoenix, but his rookie deal is up and we're not sure enough about him to pay him, so it made sense to cash in. Holmes is a solid player but nothing to hold a deal up for. The opportunity to get D'Angelo for just Jackson+Bender+Holmes+2nd while dumping Anderson's contract was too good to pass up. Now we'll have a loaded starting 5 of Ayton/Warren/Bridges/Booker/Russell, all 25 and under, and if D'Angelo is still here in the offseason, we'll be able to pay him and still have a decent amount of cap space.

Good dealing Baller!
