Cross-Division Duos Draft

Post#1 » by ardee » Mon Feb 18, 2019 8:11 am

1. Subject to the rules to be set out below, players from the 1979-80 to 2017-18 seasons will be available to be drafted. You can draft players that came into the league before 1989 but the season you choose can't be before 1989-90.

2. You will be required to draft a total of 8 players. Each of your players must play a minimum of 8 minutes in your rotations.

3. Your team will be allowed a combined total of 85.0 FGA corresponding with the specific seasons indicated for each player.

4. The draft will be four rounds. In each round you will select two players fitting each of the following combinations:

-Pacific and Atlantic
-Northwest and Central
-Southwest and Southeast
-One wildcard with players from any division

You may only select one player who has ever made a First-Team All-NBA per pair.

5. Each player you select must have played at least 50% of regular season games in the season selected.

6. We will be doing a modified snake draft. It will go like this: ABBA

7. Players will get a maximum of a 2-hour window to make their selection when they are on the clock. If you still have not chosen a player by then, or if the player you have chosen is ineligible, you will be skipped. Also, if you know ahead of time that you won't be available to make your pick on the clock then please PM your selection to myself or another participant. NOTE: If you miss one pick and have failed to make it by the time your next pick comes around, you will be skipped.

8. The clock will be turned off between 12 midnight and 9 AM EDT.

9. Draft order will be completely randomized.

10. After you have made your draft selection, please quote and/or PM the person that goes after you so they will know that it is their turn and they are on the clock. You may not change your pick after it has been made, even if the next person in the order has not picked yet. Please note that the clock starts whenever the previous drafter has either made their pick or their two-hour window has expired, even if the next person is not quoted.

11. The winner of the draft will be determined by rankings followed by a four-team playoff tournament.

Nice.

When you say fitting the combinations does that mean you need to select 1 player from each of the 6 divisions?

One pick will need to be one from Atlantic one from Pacific, one will need to be one from Central one from NW, one will need to be one from SW one from SE, and one pick can have both from any division.

I want to play this, but I don't think it should start until the current one is close to wrapping up.

I appreciate you quoting SuperDario, but that's the old me. The new me is trying to move on and let old wounds heal...

The perils of creating player-related usernames. When the Lakers trade Kuz (along with Lonzo, Ingram, Hart, 13 first round picks, Magic's statue, and a small child) to get AD, all I'll have to do is change my avatar.

The semis are when we typically start struggling for votes though.

I agree with Fadeaway that we shouldn't start until the game is over.

Feel free to take over, no snark. I just wanted to get a game started, nothing else. Don't care who's running it. My apologies if it seems like I jumped the gun.

Ok will do, given we need more players. Let's see if CSF wants to run it since it was his idea.
