No overlap draft - Draft thread

Post#1 » by Dr Positivity » Thu Jun 13, 2019 11:44 pm

Draft rules:

1. Subject to the rules to be set out below, players from the 1989-1990 to 2018-2019 seasons will be available to be drafted. You may draft players who came into the league before 1989-1990, but the season you choose must be between 1989-1990 and 2018-2019.

2. You will be required to draft a total of 8 players. Each of your players must play a minimum of 8 minutes in your rotations.

3. Your team will be allowed a combined total of 85.0 FGA.

4. Each player you select must have played at least 50% of regular season games in the season selected.

5. The draft will be eight rounds. In each round you will select one player.

6. You must draft players who's careers don't overlap with each other. For example if you take Stephen Curry (2010-2019), you cannot take any player who has played from 2010 on, even if the season you choose is before Curry entered the league. This rule only applies to players who've made an all-star team at any point in their career.

7. If a player doesn't play a game in the season whether it be from injury or retirement, the season doesn't count as part of their career. For example if you draft Michael Jordan seasons from 1994 and 1999-2001 are available, but ONLY in the unlikely chance they never played any other seasons with Jordan in the league.

8. We will be doing a modified snake draft. It will go like this: ABBABABA

9. Players will get a maximum of a 2-hour window to make their selection when they are on the clock. If you still have not chosen a player by then, or if the player you have chosen is ineligible, you will be skipped. Also, if you know ahead of time that you won't be available to make your pick on the clock then please PM your selection to another participant. NOTE: If you miss one pick and have failed to make it by the time your next pick comes around, you will be skipped.

10. The clock will be turned off between 12 midnight and 9 AM EDT. The clock will start at 3 PM ET, Friday June 14th

11. Draft order will be completely randomized.

12. After you have made your draft selection, please quote and/or PM the person that goes after you so they will know that it is their turn and they are on the clock. You may not change your pick after it has been made, even if the next person in the order has not picked yet. Please note that the clock starts whenever the previous drafter has either made their pick or their two-hour window has expired, even if the next person is not quoted.

13. The winner of the draft will be determined by playoffs.

Team Roster Page Rules:

You will be responsible for creating a roster page for your fantasy team. Here are the things that you will be required to include on your roster page:

. Players
. Rotations
. Draft selections
. By the end of the draft you must indicate which seasons you are using for each player to make sure you meet the rules.

-All of the above should be completed before rankings/playoffs begin.

***Do NOT sign up if you aren't able to check the draft thread regularly***

Seems like he gives me more fun options than most, so let’s go with Giannis Antetokounmpo.

I'm torn on what to do here, so I'll just take Mike Conley

Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy
