Post#1 » by DerrickNoah » Thu Jul 11, 2019 6:16 pm

This will be the discussion thread... ask questions

Schedule:

Saturday July 20th at 10pm (central time):
Start of the 2019-2020 season. All rosters must stay between 12-16 players. No more, no less.

Saturday August 10th at 10pm (central time):
End of the 2019-2020 regular season. The 1st trade deadline. Playoff rosters are locked in. Team rankings sent to my email ASAP. (Carl.killian@hotmail.com).

Monday August 12th at 10pm (central time):
Beginning of the 2020 playoffs. Rankings will be posted. Lotto results will be posted. 2020 draft order will be posted. Playoff brackets will be posted. Voting for the 1st rd of playoffs will begin.

Tuesday August 13th at 10pm (central time):
Off-season begins. Continue voting on the playoffs. Update rosters for the 2020-2021 season. Decide on teams options, non-guaranteed contracts, Qualifying Offers, Bird Rights, etc. Player options will be announced. Trading will reopen using 2020-2021 Salaries.

TBA:
When the playoffs finish, we’ll conduct the 2021 draft.

TBA:
When the draft is complete, we’ll start tier one of Free agency... there will be 5 tiers(5 days) this year.

GMAT Rules:

1) Emails / PM’s must be responded to, even if its only a simple “NO THX”

2) We will have a Hard cap. No repeater tax etc

a) The Salary Information for 19/20 season is:
- The Salary cap is set at 110 million
- The Luxury cap is set at 135 million
- Hard cap is $165,000,000

b) The Salary Information for 20/21 season is:
- The Salary cap is set at 120 million
- The Luxury cap is set at 145 million
- Hard cap is $175,000,000

3) post your roster of your team in the roster thread and include the following information:
- Team Name (pic is optional)
- GM name
- email address or PM
- Head Coach
- depth chart / rotation
- player salaries
- overall team salary
- future draft picks (2020-2026)
- player draft rights (unsigned)
- traded player exceptions (TPE’s with trade # acquired)
- Free agent signings
- trades
- current direction (Free to change anytime)

5) there is no stepien rule, you can deal all picks. we are playing with picks until 2026 (be careful with dealing future picks though, don't be Billy King)

6) There will be a 2020 rankings that determine 2020 playoffs & 2020 draft. There will be an odds flatlining lotto for the 10 worst teams. Intentional tanking will not save you. They will also be a 2021 playoff

7) no ppp or Trade kickers are used in this game. Players can always be traded. No waiting period between trades

8) Coaches can be traded, but they. Coaches and Your draft rights, Picks are used as incentives in deals. Coaches can be fired and hired but be realistic. No hiring big time college coaches. No pouching other teams Assist Coaches without their approval.

9) you can use TPES if you show them on roster page after your trades

10) No buyouts, No stretch provision (trade these guys) - Guys can be waived to make roster space - but the salary counts against your hold. Existing stretch players salaries are included in your salaries.

11a) CBA Trading Rules:

“Non-Taxpaying Teams
Outgoing salary Maximum incoming salary

$0 to $6,533,333 - 175% of the outgoing salary, plus $100,000
$6,533,334 to $19.6 million The outgoing salary plus $5 million
$19.6 million and up 125% of the outgoing salary, plus $100,000

Taxpaying teams can take back up to 125% of their outgoing salaries, plus $100,000, no matter how much salary the team is sending away. For example, a taxpaying team trading away $10 million in salaries can acquire one or more replacement players making up to $12.6 million.

Taxpaying Teams
Outgoing salary Maximum incoming salary
Any 125% of the outgoing salary, plus $100,000”

11b) “It's a trading game - thus, TRADE!” Even if you have the Best team, just TRADE (trades have to be fair value though and do the best for your team... be the best GM!) Trades are negotiated with individual GMs - Once a deal is accepted— one person posts and one accepts. Please state at least a once sentence reason WHY you do the deal.

Again we promote trading, we like trades, as long as they work with the CBA. If the trade works financially then assume it’s approved & update your roster. Try to keep it somewhat real thou “Lebron for Mike Muscala” will be vetoes. I will listen to Ben(Ness), Scott(Blazer50), & other veteran players for potentially vetoed deals.

Trades must be Numbered and include salary info. It needs to work under the CBA (show the math). Number the Trades. One GM will Post the Trade - the other will “quote” the trade and confirm it to make it official. You negotiate the trades via E-Mail, however, some GMS prefer PM, so PM them via realgm.

A trade is only official when it’s posted and accepted by both GMS and Posted.

13) no two-way contracts, but you must have between 12-16 players once season officially starts, in the offseason up to 18 players, if you have less than 11 players prior Free Agency, use mini cap holds ($750,000 each) to get to 11 “players”.

14a) there will be 2020 free agency following the 2020 draft. Free Agency will be in Tiers 1-5

Hopefully Wackbone will run 2020 free agency again. He has been our Player Agent the last few years. You will email him contract offers

14b) Any 2019 player currently not on an NBA roster will be available to be signed (in the waiver / signing thread). I will be the player agent for the remainder of this current off-season. Make them a fair offer (if your team has cap or an exception available) & I will advise if they sign.

Players with reported (unsigned) contracts will belong to that team on the reported salary. I will decide any players in question. Just ask.

ATTN:
We will be ending this session of GMAT with an awards ceremony.

1st & 2nd place voting for each category:
Best Win-Now team / Playoff Champs
Most Improved Roster / Best overall turnover
Best Rebuild / Most future assets, young talent
Best Superteam / Big names sell tickets
Most Financially Responsible / Workin for the man
Most Active GM / Always active & responding

Just wanna State early, if I don’t reply to emails they haven’t made it through.

My email registers some as security threats and automatically deletes them before I can check.
So if I don’t reply within 2 days send a PM as I am either super busy or technology is making it hard.

Nuggets are looking to compete now. Everyone is on the block. Jokic would take one helluva offer to move. Murray will likely be moved for a more win-now piece, but he won’t be cheap.

Bulls are the opposite. Looking to rebuild. Every single player is available at the right price. Lauri, Wendell, and Coby will be the three hardest to deal for.

Memphis is looking to continue the rebuild. Iggy, Crowder, and the other vets are available.

I like the lotto addition.

Warriors signing...
Bogut to minimum
Jonathon Simmons to Minimum

Just grabbing them up before others do...

Most people have complete rosters basically atm...
But I need warm bodies otherwise Curry gets cold.

Pistons not sure to go all in or rebuild, depends on offers coming in for Blake. If you want Griffin put in good package with assets, I don't mind bad salary if I actually move him

Rockets

On the Block
I'm not a huge fan of Harden, Westbrook but they IMO are top 10 players.

Clinton Capella is on a good deal but not my type of C as well.

One probably both can be had.
