The Coast-to-Coast Draft R1 - Goober* vs. MadNESS

Post#1 » by Fadeaway_J » Fri Oct 18, 2019 12:40 am

Here is a quick list of what you need in your writeup.

1. Specific years for each player on your team
2. Rotations and minutes for each player
3. Reasoning as to why your team will win and/or why people should vote for you.

Do not vote in this thread until both managers have submitted their writeups.

If writeups aren't posted within 24 hours, we will vote solely based on the players they have drafted (and any rotations they have posted on their roster page).

**First to 4 votes advances.**

2011-2012 Chris Duhon 3.2 FGA
2008-2009 Lasagna Diop 2.8 FGA

84.6 /85

Write up: LeBron is clearly the best player in this series however a lack of interior defense will really kill him in this series. Dwight should be able to really take advantage of this series. My team is quick enough to keep up with his team as well. Ness may have the best player but I feel my team team wins out on overall talent

LeNESS

PG: Doug Christie (30) | Bradley Beal (18) | Lebron James
SG: Bradley Beal (18) | Ray Allen (24) | Doug Christie (6)
SF: Ray Allen (12) | Trevor Ariza (36) | Lebron James
PF: Lebron James (48) | Brian Grant (10) | Lamar Odom
Cc: Lamar Odom (30) | Theo Ratliff (18) | Brian Grant

1st - Lebron James - ‘13 (17.8 FGA) Finals MVP, MVP
2nd - Ray Allen - 11’ (12.2 FGA) All Star
3rd - Bradley Beal - 19’ (19.6 FGA) All Star
4th - Doug Christie - 03’ (7.0 FGA) All D
5th - Lamar Odom - 10’ (9.0 FGA) Champ
6th - Trevor Ariza - 09’ (7.3 FGA) Champ
7th - Theo Ratliff - 04’ (6.5 FGA) All D | BPG leader
8th - Brian Grant - 00‘ (5.6 FGA)

Total: 85.00 | 85.00

We plan to use our deep bench and run. We will feature Lebron and ample shooting, play making, and defense. Dwight cannot guard prime Odom. We will use quickness and versatility to get through this match up. We have Christie and Ariza to put on TMAC, and Lebron when needed in crunch time. Vote Ness.

Both teams have lots of individual firepower as well as great shooting and playmaking. Dwight looms large here on both ends - Ness has no answer for him in the post or on the glass, and I don't see Odom doing quite enough damage on the perimeter to make that up on the other end. Most importantly, in this kind of series I think the importance of an elite defensive anchor is magnified, because there's so much talent and space on the floor that it will be damn near impossible to contain guys one-on-one.

Dwight is the only real Center here and has noone to defend him near the basket. Lebron should be defending TMac but isn't so TMac should score well. Better defense for Goober and more well rounded.

Goober wins.

The big 3 of TMAC/Dwight/Hardaway overcome Lebron with role-players and Beal.

Vote:
Spoiler:
Goober

Reasoning: MadNESS went all out with his unconventional lineup..I can live with Christie as a PG but I can’t overcome the fact with Lamar guarding peak Dwight at center which will be a nightmare more so than the other away around being a difference in this one.
