Offensively we may not be elite, but are Manu and Dirk really the best covers for Kobe and Giannis?
Basically they will have their way, and be borderline unstoppable, with multiple playmakers, great shooters and depth allround our offense should run smoothly and efficiently.
Combine that with the fact our covers for the guys are perfect almost,
Billups on Porter
Bowen on Manu (smart team defender with length, will stop Manu from being effective for long stretches)
Kobe on Pierce (Pierce isn’t athletic as hell, Kobe’s isolation defense is elite so Pierce is going to struggle and won’t take much out of Kobe)
Giannis on Dirk (Giannis is basically a small guy with length, he would probably be the best possible matchup to stop Dirk, much quicker, more agile, but no loss of strength or size)
Dikembe on Shaq (this is a tough one, we know Dikembe won’t stop Shaq, but he was known to be one of the few that at times could slow and stand up to Shaq, so Shaq won’t have his way all the time)
Noting that we also have Bell on the bench who will give Manu fits when he gets Minutes, and Ingles who will give Pierce fits alongside a big body to Hack a Shaq if needed.
I feel our lockdown defense, elite depth, and the two MVPs give me a edge here against Ness’ team.
After your first, you change, you mature, you dont just jump into things.
After getting dunked on for the first time, life becomes complex.
