Sabotage Draft R1 - MadNESS vs Jon_3232 (Jon_3232 advances)

Post#1 » by Dr Positivity » Sun Jan 5, 2020 2:18 am

Here is a quick list of what you need in your writeup.

1. Specific years for each player on your team
2. Rotations and minutes for each player
3. Reasoning as to why your team will win and/or why people should vote for you.

Do not vote in this thread until both managers have submitted their writeups.

If writeups aren't posted within 24 hours, we will vote solely based on the players they have drafted (and any rotations they have posted on their roster page).

**First to 4 votes wins, if there is no winner after 24 hours first to 3 votes wins **

VS. Jon

The one team I didn’t want to face in this game. Great job Jon.

I’ll try to utilize the most valuable asset in this game - Shaquille O’Neal

We put defense and spacing around him to the max. He can do his thing, and dominate.

Price, Jones, Green and Peja all are elite shooters.

Jones, Artest, Green are all elite defenders.

Shaq will be Shaq and we move to the next round.

2009-10 Tony Allen - 4.4
1991-92 Maurice Cheeks - 4.4 fga

84.8/85 fga

GL NESS !

7SOL Suns with peak Duncan. We’re going to run the floor and work Shaq with the Nash + Amare/Duncan pnr. Outside of Shaq NESS doesn’t have the rim protection to stop my bigs.

Prime Kukoc can come off the bench to provide a spark and also let me play some small ball elite shooting lineup with a Nash/Christie/Kukoc/Marion/Amare.

On D we’ll go straight up. NESS has great outside shooting but Christie and Tony Allen off the bench are two elite perimeter defenders. And with Marion on Peja I should be able to make it tough on them.

While Shaq is the best player in this series, peak Duncan along with Nash and Amar'e give Jon the overall edge in top-end talent. I'm not so high on Jon's outside shooting though, especially when Cheeks and Allen are in the game. Shaq will be stretched having to guard Nash in the pick-and-roll, but will that mitigate the damage Shaq can do with so many snipers around him? The PF matchup is key here - I don't think MWP can deter the bigger, more athletic Amar'e around the rim, and his erratic outside shooting gives Amar'e more freedom to help on Shaq if he needs to.

Shaq will get his and be the best player in this series. The Nash/Timmy pick and roll should also be very successful as Shaq will struggle defending it. I don't love Jon's spacing, but I do think he has better top end talent overall even with Shaq being the best player here. Tough matchup for Ness and I really like his team, but I'm going to go Jon here.

Missing my second round pick for that Bucks / Bulls travel time really screwed me. I should have had Shaq and Harden as my duo. Dammit.

Both teams fit nicely but I think Jon has the talent advantage. Like Madness said missing the second round pick was costly

Going Jon here,

Very few people have the ability to stop Shaq, but job does to at least slow him down.
Then has the personnel to take advantage and out score Ness,
Jon has that.
Really bad matchup for Ness here.
After your first, you change, you mature, you dont just jump into things.

After getting dunked on for the first time, life becomes complex.

GG NESS, never easy going against Shaq, especially when he’s got good spacing and D around him.
