Sabotage Draft R3 - Jon_3232 vs Snakebites (Snakebites advances)

Post#1 » by Dr Positivity » Thu Jan 9, 2020 10:38 pm

Here is a quick list of what you need in your writeup.

1. Specific years for each player on your team
2. Rotations and minutes for each player
3. Reasoning as to why your team will win and/or why people should vote for you.

Do not vote in this thread until both managers have submitted their writeups.

If writeups aren't posted within 24 hours, we will vote solely based on the players they have drafted (and any rotations they have posted on their roster page).

**First to 4 votes wins, if there is no winner after 24 hours first to 3 votes wins **

Nothing changes here with my offensive plan. Gonna stretch Wallace with the Nash/Amare, Nash/Duncan pnr. Outside Wallace there’s zero rim protection so I think I should be able to score fairly well there. Kukoc is going to play 26 mins at SF and see a fair bit of time with Nash/Christie in order to open the floor more when Amare is on the bench or moves to C.

Defensively the PF position on both teams are going to score fairly easily. Marion playing some mins at PF against Dirk hopefully can have an effect to slow him down.
Duncan doesn’t need to leave the paint with a guard like Rose or a big like Wallace so he can do his thing in the paint and protect it against Rose/Hill/Wallace.

I think my bench seals the deal. Cheeks and Allen won’t see the floor a lot together so I’m not going to worrie about shooting as they’ll be on with one of Nash and Christie while also having Kukoc on with one of them. Defensively they were both elite and should help the team big time.

Then with peak Kukoc off the bench to provide elite shooting and a scoring punch I think should be quite a factor here.

PG: Derrick Rose: 2010-2011 19.4 FGA
Most Valuable Player
SG: Michael Cooper 1986-87- 9.0 FGA
Defensive Player of the Year
SF: Grant Hill 1996-97 15.7 FGA
All NBA First, 3rd in MVP
PF: Dirk Nowitzki 2010-11 16.2 FGA
Finals MVP
C: Ben Wallace 02-03 6.0 FGA
Defensive Player of the Year

B: Steve Kerr 96-97 5.7 FGA
B: Aaron McKie 99-00 7.4 FGA
B: Charles Oakley 92-93 5.3 FGA

Total: 84.7/85

Rotation:

Rose (37)/Kerr (11)
Cooper (32)/Kerr (3)/McKie (13)
Hill (38)/McKie (10)
Dirk (27)/Oakley (21)
Wallace (36)/Dirk (12)

Alrighty, we'll be brief here. I like that we have versatile defender Michael Cooper, who was kind of the guy you could plug in against any perimeter player alongside Magic- on our team here. Off the bench we have Aaron McKie who plays a very similar role. They'll both see some time on Nash while Rose appears relatively free to go off on Steve Nash whenever he wants. As much as I love Nash as a player, MVP Rose is not a great matchup for him.

I also really like the offensive synergy between my 3 offensive star players, and think I boast a much more effective bench unit with shooting, passing and strong defense all around.

His front court is imposing without a doubt, but there's also a lot of overlap between their offensive abilities and I have a pair of elite defensive front court players to throw at it in Wallace and Oakley when I need to.

Overall I like Jon's team but I'm really not seeing a matchup there we can't handle, and I think our bench is better.

While I like adding Duncan to an already established team, it does force the SSOL Suns to play a little bigger and slower than they normally did. Snake has a pretty talented team with Rose, Hill and Snake and DPOY level player at the other two positions, and any time with Amare on Dirk is a problem. I’ll say Snake pulls it out. Vote Snakebites

Tough matchup for Jon. Snakes two biggest offensive weapons matchup with Jon's two worst defenders, while Snake can pivot Cooper on to Nash. I'm going to go snake here.
