Starters
C - Marc Gasol (2012-13)
PF - Kevin Durant (2016-17)
SF - OG Anunoby (2019-20)
SG - Eddie Jones (1999-00)
PG - James Harden (2016-17)
Bench
C/F - Serge Ibaka (2011-12)
F - Mike Miller (2012-13)
G - Jason Terry (2014-15)
Rotations
C - Gasol (38), Ibaka (10)
PF - Durant (30), Ibaka (18)
SF - Anunoby (32), Durant (10), Miller (6)
SG - Jones (38), Harden (8), Miller (2)
PG - Harden (32), Terry (16)
FGA Per Player
Harden can do real damage when he has a spread floor to work with, and he'll have that here with all our perimeter players being good to great long-range shooters. Both bigs are also excellent from midrange, giving us the option of going "traditional" while still maintaining good spacing. KD is the perfect superstar complement to Harden, as he can play the lead scorer role without needing a whole lot of the ball. Defensively, Gasol and Ibaka are both excellent security blankets on the back line, KD combines solid one-on-one coverage against wings with the rim protection of a PF, and the Jones/OG combination can handle a range of perimeter threats.
Matchup
- Defensively, we'll mostly go with a combination of KD and to a lesser extent OG on Dirk. KD has the length to contest Dirk's fadeaways better than most, and OG strength will at least make it tough for Dirk to set up shop in the mid-post. Both will also be more comfortable than a traditional big at dealing with a perimeter-oriented PF like Dirk. Obviously it's still a tough matchup but this approach gives us the best chance to maintain our overall defensive integrity.
- Jones on Reggie and Gasol on Zo are pretty good counters to Jon's supporting stars.
- Harden working two-man gam with Gasol will be our bread-and-butter offensively. Harden is already enough of a threat on his own, and when you throw in Gasol's skills as a screener, shooter, and passer, it's going to be a deadly combination that will open things up for everyone else. It also forces Zo to guard out on the perimeter, which leaves Jon light on rim protection on the back line.
- Bowen is obviously a great defender, but assuming he's the primary guy on KD, he's facing a significant height disadvantage against a great jump-shooter with a high release. With the amount of space he'll have around him and the attention being drawn by Harden as the primary creator, we think KD can still have a big series here.
Good luck Jon.

Jon has a great team. It's a shame he isn't defending it with a writeup.

Damn, sorry for being late, been busy as hell. Fade has a sick team.....unreal tough matchup in the first round, so GL Fade!
So I’ve got playoff god Dirk surrounded by peak Kidd,Mourning,Bowen, with playoff goat Miller. This team is built for playoff success and has unbelievable defense, shooting, and playmaking. Offensively Kidd should be able to run this offence flawlessly with Harden on him. Kidd/Dirk...Kidd/Mourning P’n’R is gonna cause problems with Miller running through screens and getting open while Bowen finds the corners.
If Durant covers Dirk that is gonna be tiresome. Durant will have the duo of Bowen and Jackson on him while covering an elite offensive weapon in Dirk? That’s a lot to handle
Defensively I can cause tonnes of problems. Mourning and Robinson will shut down anything in the paint while Bowen will give Durant fits. Bowen is known for fighting above his weight class and Durant is no different. Knowing Bowen he’d probably take out Durant in the first game by getting under his ankles anyways lol.
Kidd in his peak season will give Harden fits while Miller can hide on Jones.
Kidd on Harden
Miller on Jones
Bowen on KD with Jackson too
Dirk on OG
Mourning on Gasol
I think my bench seals the deal. Mark Jackson was a starter on that Indiana playoff team and was lethal from outside while creating offense at an elite level. Stephen Jackson adds scoring and D at the SF spot while Robinson was a starter on a championship team.

This one is almost too close to call.
From a talent standpoint, I would almost say dead even, and I give a slight edge to Jon based on the intangibles from the players on his team - which is a factor I personally value very much. Dirk and Reggie together would be really something to see with Kidd as the one spreading touches around, Bowen locking down the wing, and the absolute fortress of Mourning/Robinson downlow. Very close, but I give edge to

Man this is a great matchup. Fade has a crazy offensive combo in Harden and Durant, but Jon has very nice defensive covers in Kidd and Bowen. He also has extremely reliable scorers in Dirk and Miller. Both teams are very well balanced, but I feel more confident that Jon's defense can impact Fade's offense than vice versa. Plus he has a depth advantage

Yeah great matchup would be fun to watch overall but as stated, Jon has better defensive covers for Fade

Agree with others that Jon has some great defensive covers here. Also personally believe that Dirk would eat KD alive in the mid post.
