The Expansion Team Draft R1 - lilroddyb* vs. JRSmith_23

Post#1 » by Fadeaway_J » Sat May 1, 2021 3:46 pm

Here is a quick list of what you need in your writeup.

1. Specific years for each player on your team
2. Rotations and minutes for each player
3. Reasoning as to why your team will win and/or why people should vote for you.

Do not vote in this thread until both managers have submitted their writeups.

If writeups aren't posted within 24 hours, we will vote solely based on the players they have drafted (and any rotations they have posted on their roster page).

**First to 4 votes advances. If neither team has 4 votes after 24 hours, first to 3 votes advances, provided we aren't already tied 3-3.**

Best of luck JR Smith, I really like the fit of your team

Defense

Dirk on Lamarcus
Bam on Shawn Marion
Danny Green on Reggie miller
Anfernee Hardaway on Eddie Jones
Jamal Murray on Jason Kidd

Offense

I think I got some good offense build around Peak Dirk with elite ballhandlers/Playmakers in Anfernee, Jamal Murray, sixth man Jamal murray and to an extend Bam Adebayo. The spacing should be fine with great three point shooters in Dirk, Danny Green, Jamal, Robert Horry and Decent shooters in Baron Davis and Anfernee Hardaway. The bench is elite with Baron Davis and Horry

94 Reggie Miller - 13.2
02 Jason Kidd - 13.9
00 Eddie Jones - 15.5
11 Shawn Marion - 10.4
04 Marcus Camby - 7.6
16 LaMarcus Aldridge - 14.1
00 Anthony Mason - 8.1
17 Spencer Dinwiddie - 5.1

87.9/88

PG - Jason Kidd (38) / Spencer Dinwiddie (10)
SG - Reggie Miller (38) / Eddie Jones (10)
SF - Eddie Jones (26) / Shawn Marion (22)
PF - Shawn Marion (14) / Anthony Mason (34)
C - LaMarcus Aldridge (36) / Marcus Camby (12)

Write-Up:

I like your team roddy.

We have a defense that can handle their stars. Kidd, EJ, Dinwiddie and even Matrix will give Penny looks as far as defending him. Matrix, Mase, Camby and LMA will give Dirk looks on defense. Kidd on B-Diddy, Reggie on the wing with the worst offense and EJ on the other wing player. Offensively, we'll give different looks. Up-tempo, slow paced or something in the middle, we've got the players for any style of play. We match up well with our opponents. Kidd, EJ and other playmakers will be things easy for Marion, Mason, Aldridge and Camby inside.

Good balance for JR but the lack of top-end offensive talent hurts him in this one. Reggie and LMA are a solid foundation especially given Reggie's playoff resilience, but I don't see the same kind of ceiling that I do for roddy. Penny and Murray will be unleashed playing off Dirk, and Bam mixes in nicely as a high post playmaker who can also finish at the rim.

These are both definitely unusual teams. Simply put, I much prefer the overall talent level on roddy's team, so I will go with him.

I think Dirk and Penny is a great paring and I love Bam with that group. I think ideally you want a better use of your remaining FGA than Murray and Baron Davis, but I think it’s enough to get him through this matchup.

Kidd and Miller were a great start along with EJ but I think a different front court was needed to survive this matchup.
