Yeah I am wondering how that will work. You do raise a good point about the expensiveness--at 18.8 FGA, J.R. Smith could still draft a "GOAT" and another high-level all-nba talent. Was he given a 23-27 FGA player, perhaps he couldn't afford 2 all-timers.

That's funny, after thinking about it, I think I'm starting to come around.

18.8 FGA at center is a lot more harmful than 18.8 FGA at a perimeter position given that a higher number of cheap, high impact players are available at the center spot. I didn't think that difference bridged the gap in cost for some of the more costly players that will be picked in round 1, but maybe it actually does given Al Jefferson made the All-NBA team about 2-3 years before players like him faded into total irrelevance.

I dunno, its hard to say.

Unfortunately I think what we're probably going to see in this game is teams building some REALLY bad benches to make ends meet after the collective FGA hit we're all taking.

Another thing to think about is Al Jefferson HAS to play Center. Bernard King could play the 2 or 3 technically.

Al Jefferson gives no flexibility.

He's also deceptively inefficient offensively despite better than 50% FG, with zero range, and a lack of ability to get to the line with poor shooting when he got there. 53% TS is really bad for a guy who only gives you offense and doesn't pass much.

Note in-passing- sure, in theory Bernard King can play SG or SF, but the thought of post-injury King guarding pretty much any shooting guard of offensive merit is pretty scary.

Iverson was my #1 overall. No one likes building around him and 27.8 fga's is mind numbing.

I just hope Ness goes easy on me when it's his turn to pick, although hopefully most of the worst options will be gone by then

No mercy, Ness. No mercy.

I think the later picks will be in a better spot, since some of the higher picks will be forced to forgo more conventional top options in the name of fit.

Torn between 2 guys. Both have their positives as players but are way overpriced for the contributions you can get out of them.

Is there a clock right now? Seems like it would be an unfair advantage to me if I were allowed to skip over my own pick, since I'm picking for Wack right after.

In this draft someone else should make that pick if the 2 hours are up (JR Smiths pick for you).

Evidently there is no clock until later this afternoon, so for the time being it's not an issue.

Correct but in the future this should be the protocol for this draft.

That price is pretty brutal. You can make the case that his offensive efficiency was hurt by their failure to give him enough help offensively. He didn't even have good spacing around him most of the time.

He's certainly the best player chosen so far.

Yeah at least you are getting a really good player, even if the cost is way higher than preferred

Sorry, I had him a clear number one at that price. Almost a cheat code, but others may feel differently.

My first instinct was Iverson #1, but I think older King for 24 FGAs has a good argument
