I've got a pretty clear number one - we'll see what everyone else thinks as the round goes on. Also have my two and three ready for roddy. :D

Charles Barkley's #1 pick?

I believe there is a better pick than that.

Maybe 2.

EDIT- never mind

My first thought was the ultra FGA player, but it might be worth going for a less talented guy for 4-6 FGAs less

I think that’s a misfire. I mean I get it kinda. Al Jefferson isn’t very good- less useful I suppose. But that’s a misfire.

Don’t get me wrong Jefferson at 18.8 FGA is rough but I’d place him as a mid rounder at worst. But hey, clearly there are different ideas on what makes a pick “worst”.

JR is in a strong position with a not that bad unpopular guy and a top pick IMO.

I had no idea what to do honestly. There are probably better picks, but we'll see what happens

Big Al could be quite frustrating to build around spacing/defense wise

I had Jefferson right up there. There are higher fga guys but he'll clog up the offense and be a real problem defensively in this pool.

I’m scared for my life right now

I know he’s going to pick the consensus # 1

I think its a great pick. Arguably the worst player on any All-NBA team since 1990, plays no defense and a black hole. He is a terrible fit with James, Jordan, Magic, ect.

I agree he's the worst player. I just didn't think he was expensive enough for the number one pick. I had him going at maybe 4-5.

Yeah I am wondering how that will work. You do raise a good point about the expensiveness--at 18.8 FGA, J.R. Smith could still draft a "GOAT" and another high-level all-nba talent. Was he given a 23-27 FGA player, perhaps he couldn't afford 2 all-timers.

That's funny, after thinking about it, I think I'm starting to come around.

18.8 FGA at center is a lot more harmful than 18.8 FGA at a perimeter position given that a higher number of cheap, high impact players are available at the center spot. I didn't think that difference bridged the gap in cost for some of the more costly players that will be picked in round 1, but maybe it actually does given Al Jefferson made the All-NBA team about 2-3 years before players like him faded into total irrelevance.

I dunno, its hard to say.

Unfortunately I think what we're probably going to see in this game is teams building some REALLY bad benches to make ends meet after the collective FGA hit we're all taking.

Another thing to think about is Al Jefferson HAS to play Center. Bernard King could play the 2 or 3 technically.

Al Jefferson gives no flexibility.
