The MVPs draft - Draft thread

Post#1 » by Dr Positivity » Tue Mar 1, 2022 6:26 am

Draft rules:

1. Subject to the rules to be set out below, players from the 1955-1956 to 2020-2021 seasons will be available to be drafted. You can draft players that came into the league before 1955, but the season used must be 1955-1956 or later.

2. You will be required to draft a total of 8 players. Each of your players must play a minimum of 8 minutes in your rotations.

3. Your team will be allowed a combined total of 88.0 FGA with a minimum of 3.0 FGA per player corresponding with the specific seasons indicated for each player. NOTE: You may pick a player whose actual FGA number was lower than 3.0, but you will still be charged 3.0 for that player. Seasons before the 1976-1977 merger will have a 0.85 FGA multiplier to account for pace.

4. All NBA MVPs are eligible, but every other player who has made an all-star game or made All-NBA at any point in their career, is ineligible. For players who've won MVP, any season of their career is available. ABA MVPs are not available unless they also won one in NBA, ABA all-star appearances are also irrelevant. All-star appearances in 2021-2022 count toward a players eligibility.

5. You are allowed a maximum of 3 MVPs each, therefore of the 35 NBA MVPs, a maximum of 33 will be taken.

6. Each player you select must have played at least 50% of regular season games in the season selected. For players who played for multiple teams in one season, they must of played at least 50% of their games for one or more of the listed franchises in order for that season to be eligible.

7. We will be using a draft order of ABBAABAB

8. Players will get a maximum of a 2-hour window to make their selection when they are on the clock for rounds 1-4, and 1 hour from rounds 5-8. If you still have not chosen a player by then, or if the player you have chosen is ineligible, you will be skipped. Also, if you know ahead of time that you won't be available to make your pick on the clock then please PM your selection to myself or another participant. NOTE: If you miss one pick and have failed to make it by the time your next pick comes around, you will be skipped.

9. The clock will be turned off between 12 midnight and 9 AM EDT. The clock will begin at Tuesday, 8 PM ET unless a full round has been completed.

10. Draft order will be completely randomized.

11. After you have made your draft selection, please quote and/or PM the person that goes after you so they will know that it is their turn and they are on the clock. You may not change your pick after it has been made, even if the next person in the order has not picked yet. Please note that the clock starts whenever the previous drafter has either made their pick or their two-hour window has expired, even if the next person is not quoted.

12. The winner of the draft will be determined by playoffs.

Team Roster Page Rules:

You will be responsible for creating a roster page for your fantasy team. Here are the things that you will be required to include on your roster page:

. Players
. Rotations
. Draft selections
. The most important of all, you must show the total FGA per player on your roster AND a total sum of each players FGA to display that it is under the required 88.0 FGA

-All of the above must be completed before playoffs begin.

Draft order:

There were 11 items in your list. Here they are in random order:

1. durantbird

4. Dr Positivity
5. GeorgeMarcus
6. euroleague

Recently led me to a win, and he has less flaws than the other MVPs at his position, so why not.

I get the glamor of Kobe/Shaq, but I’ll take the guy Ness really should have paired with Kobe:

Thought about waiting on a C one more round but I don't want to miss out on the top tier. Plus I never take this guy:

This feels like a trap, like there's a reason this guy's still here... right? Back in my heyday he would've gone 1st round for sure. The fact that he's available at the end of the 2nd means people are a lot lower on him these days and I should probably go another direction.

BUT we're talking about the most winning player in the history of the game here guys! I can't pass on him.
