Degree of Sepration Draft RD1 lilroddyb -V- Larry_Russell *

Post#1 » by Larry_Russell » Wed Sep 25, 2024 1:16 pm

Here is a quick list of what you need in your writeup.

1. Specific years for each player on your team
2. Rotations and minutes for each player
3. Reasoning as to why your team will win and/or why people should vote for you.

Do not vote in this thread until both managers have submitted their writeups. Please ensure you give a rationale for your vote; votes with no explanation will not be counted.

If writeups aren't posted within 24 hours, we will vote solely based on the players they have drafted (and any rotations they have posted on their roster page).

**First to 3 votes advances.**

PG: Curry (38) / Beverley (10)
SG: SGA (38) / Beverley (10)
SF: Crowder (38) / Chandler (10)
PF: Jackson Jr (38) / Chandler (10)
C: Jokic (30) / McGee (8)

87.9/88

Going to matchup here as follows

Steph > Danny Green
SGA > Haliburton
Crowder > Kawhi
JJjr > Siakam
Jokic > Duncan

I think my defense matches here brilliantly.
I have a big strong SF to bounce around with Kawhi, A super fast athletic large guard with elite hands taking on Haliburton, and a DPOY Mobile bigman in JJjr to take on Siakam.
Jokic is always going to be viewed as a weak defender, but man to man in the post he is actually very solid and will make resistance for Timmy here.
PatBev is a great pairing for Ginibli in the minutes they share as a guard with great size and hands
McGee is a bigger dumber version of Williams
and Chandler is vastly superior to Thompson

Offensively I think I have a god tiered offense.

Steph and Jokic are the best 2 players in this matchup and would form an absolutely lethal combination. the give and goes and pick and roles are absoltuely unstoppable.
And having a guy like SGA get to play off of that bringing rim attacking is just unfair.
JJjr and Crowder bring great spacing in my starting lineup.

Bench is also very solid in their roles with Bev, Chandler and McGee

C: Tim Duncan 38 min / Robert Williams 10 min
Pf: Pascal Siakam 38 min / Tristan Thompson 10 min
Sf: Kawhi Leonard 38 min / Danny Green 10 min
Sg: Danny Green 24 min / Manu Ginobili 24 min
Pg: Tyrese Haliburton 36 min / Manu Ginobili 12 min

2017 Kawhi Leonard 17.7
2007 Tim Duncan 14.1
2005 Manu Ginobili 10.5
2014 Danny Green 7.4
2019 Pascal Siakam 11.8
2024 Tyrese Haliburton 15.2
2018 Tristan Thompson 4.4
2022 Robert williams 6

Tfga: 87.1

2014 spurs were really dominant championship team with non of their stars at their peaks, with ancient Duncan and Manu and young Kawhi Leonard but now Kawhi and Manu are at their peaks and Duncan still in his prime. Pascal Siakam fit really well with Kawhi ( he and KAwhi scored second most in playoffs history as a duo ) and I think he will do well as 4th option or 5th option on offense.

Tyrese Haliburton anchored one of the strongest offense in the nba and I think he will fit well with his fellow teammate Pascal and spurs guys. Had 10.9 assists, barely turns the ball over, only 2.3 turnovers so the opponents wont get many fastbreak opportunities.

4 of my starters are really good threepoint shooters to decent and there will always be atleast three great threepoint shooters at all times on the court and then you have to deal with Tim Duncan.

my team is efficient

Haliburton 60 ts%, Kawhi 61 ts%, Manu 61ts%, Danny Green 58ts%, Robert williams 74ts%, Tristan 57ts%, Pascal 63ts% and Tim Duncan 58ts%

Defense should be really good with all of my starters being elite at defense outside of Haliburton and Tristan Thompson of the bench

defensive matchup

Danny Green/ Manu on Curry
Kawhi/ Manu on SGA
Haliburton on Jae Crowder
Pascal on Jackson
Tim Duncan/ Robert Williams on Jokic

Overall

Both teams fit well but I think my team is deaper overall, I got 5 guys that have been allstars vs Larry Birds 4 guys.

best of luck Larry

That top three for Larry is a bit too much here. JJJ is also a perfect complement for Jokic. Don't even have any real strikes against roddy's team, I just believe in Larry's top-end talent more. The bench is where it gets closer as Larry's isn't great, but roddy has one big too many, which reduces the playing time and impact of both Thompson and Timelord.

Agree with Fade. Steph, Shai, and Jokic combo is simply too much to overcome. Nice team by Roddy though

Both teams are pretty strong, however I feel crowded frontcourt is not best fit for Haliburton, so I'll say that makes the difference. Vote Larry
