Draft Rules:

1. Any player who is on an active roster to start the 2024-25 season will be available for selection.

2. You will be required to draft a total of 10 players.

3. The winner of the draft will be determined by rankings at the end of the 2024-25 season, based on a combination of the individual player performances over the course of the season and the cohesiveness/fit of the team as a whole. You will select eight of your 10 chosen players to form your rotation.

4. On a date to be specified later, you will have the opportunity to replace one of your draft picks with an undrafted player. This date will be around the end of the calendar year (probably January 2). We will make these picks in a draft format with a new, randomised draft order. If you don't wish to make a change you can ask to be skipped. These will be your only chance to make a roster change, so use it wisely.

5. We will be doing a modified snake draft. It will go like this: ABBABABA

6. Players will get a maximum of a 2-hour window to make their selection when they are on the clock. If you still have not chosen a player by then, you will be skipped. Also, if you know ahead of time that you won't be available to make your pick on the clock then please PM your selection to myself or another participant. NOTE: If you miss one pick and have failed to make it by the time your next pick comes around, you will be skipped.

7. The clock will be turned off between 12 midnight and 9 AM EDT.

8. Draft order will be completely randomised.

9. After you have made your draft selection, please quote and/or PM the person that goes after you so they will know that it is their turn and they are on the clock. You may not change your pick after it has been made, even if the next person in the order has not picked yet. Please note that the clock starts whenever the previous drafter has either made their pick or their two-hour window has expired, even if the next person is not quoted.

Team Roster Page Rules:

You will be responsible for creating a roster page for your fantasy team. Here are the things that you will be required to include on your roster page:

In a regular draft we don't really factor in injuries, it's merely a question of whether the player is eligible or not.

How do we evaluate them here? Suppose I pick Kawhi and I didn't drop him but he ended up playing only 20 games. How is he judged?

Again, I don't want to impose a games minimum as there's no way to predict beforehand that enough of your players will meet it. This is why we're doing rankings based on season performance as opposed to playoffs.

You will have to use your judgement to determine how much you penalise for missed games. Think of it somewhat like awards voting (prior to the games minimums being implemented). 20 games is obviously too extreme, but you may decide 55 games of one player is more valuable than 70 games of another.

Since we don't have much time before the season opener, we will start this tonight with whoever we have.

Agreed it's challenging to value injury-prone players. I mean, the Clips announced Kawhi is out indefinitely. Another example is Porzingis. I believe he's expected to come back around January(?). He may miss half the regular season and still be a key contributor come playoff time. Do we judge players solely based on regular season projections or do we take the playoffs into account?

I would treat it as judging the total value a player provided over the course of the regular season + playoffs. The rankings won't happen until the playoffs are done.
