Matchup: - Defensive assignments: Paul vs Deron, Mullin vs DFS, Posey vs Bridges, Kirilenko vs Erving, Duncan vs Moses. - We got great matchup here defensively. Having Duncan on Moses, Kirilenko on Erving and Paul on Williams means elite defense against all their offensive hubs. Brogdon's size will have an imposing effect on Deron as well, while Wallace/Posey are other elite options to throw at Erving, with Duncan/Andersen denying easy looks on the inside. Bridges mostly showed glimpses of offensive excellence as the last option on the Suns, while apart from a short stint in Brooklyn, he struggled to show steady production on that side, including for the Knicks. With guys like Posey or Wallace to throw at him, I believe he won't be too effective. - With regards to the center matchup, I'm much more comfortable with Duncan guarding Moses than vice versa. - We've got insane defensive foundation with Duncan Kirilenko Wallace Posey Paul Andersen. Mullin is our only relative weak spot but solid enough and there are more than enough tools to cover for him. - Paul Duncan two man game flanked by an elite offensive wing in Mullin, plus multiple spacers (even Wallace and Kirilenko are reliable shooters given seasons), is going to produce elite offense, with better offensive identity I believe. - Fade has nice depth but our depth is even BETTER with both Brogdon (in his 50 40 90 season) AND Wallace off the bench.

I've done some version of this build at least twice, but it usually works out well. ABA Doc + peak Moses is just insane rim pressure and athleticism, prime Deron is an elite floor general whose shooting dovetails well with both, and Bridges/DFS/Barry/Jefferson/Diaw space the floor nicely. Bridges slots into his ideal role as a complementary scorer who can create enough that you can't just stash a weaker defender on him. With three like-sized wings and a bigger PG in Deron, we can defend conventionally or switch one-through-four depending on the opposition.
Matchup - We'll start off with Bridges on CP3, DFS on Mullin, Deron on Posey, Doc on AK-47, and Moses on Duncan. Once again, Doc guards a non-shooter and can do some damage as a roaming helper. - Bridges is the perfect POA defender to throw at CP3, as he can fight through screens and has the length the bother CP3's jumper. The CP3 pick-and-roll will also be hampered by Doc helping off AK-47 to reduce the space in the paint.
Relatively close but I like Duncan and Paul as a top 2 more and think the latter has a good series defended by a wing, also Brogdon and Wallace is great bench talent. Vote durantbird.
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change
I’m not super in love with either of these teams (a rarity for a final in these), but I think I buy DB’s overall engine on both ends of the floor just a bit more.
