This is a fun matchup! You have two very interesting teams with different eras and styles. Let’s break down the rosters and analyze the matchup, position by position, and consider team strengths and weaknesses.

Starting Lineups
Team Fadeaway_J
PG: 2018 James Harden (38 mins) – A top-tier offensive player, capable of scoring, playmaking, and shooting from anywhere. His isolation game and step-back 3 make him one of the most dangerous offensive players in history.
SG: 2023 Mikal Bridges (36 mins) – A two-way wing with elite defense and an improving offensive game. He could provide solid scoring and defend both backcourt positions.
SF: 2014 Nicolas Batum (36 mins) – An excellent defender, playmaker, and versatile 3-and-D forward. Batum can guard multiple positions and space the floor.
PF: 2017 Kevin Durant (38 mins) – One of the most skilled scorers in NBA history, Durant can dominate on offense both inside and out. His length also allows him to be an elite defender when locked in.
C: 2021 Rudy Gobert (36 mins) – One of the best rim protectors and rebounders in the league. His ability to protect the paint and rebound will be crucial, especially against a team with strong post players like Barkley.
Team Wackbone
PG: 1990 Magic Johnson (38 mins) – A legendary playmaker, Magic’s court vision and size (6'9") give him a massive advantage over Harden in terms of distributing the ball and setting up teammates.
SG: 1993 Dan Majerle (36 mins) – A solid shooter and defender, Majerle is not afraid to take on tough assignments on the defensive end while being a reliable three-point shooter.
SF: 1997 Grant Hill (38 mins) – One of the most talented players of his era, Hill could fill up the stat sheet in every category. His scoring, passing, and defense would make him a key player in this matchup.
PF: 1990 Charles Barkley (38 mins) – Barkley was a dominant force in the paint, both as a scorer and a rebounder. His toughness and physicality would be a challenge for Durant and Gobert.
C: 2024 Chet Holmgren (28 mins) – A highly skilled shot-blocker, with a unique combination of size, skill, and mobility. While not as proven as the other players, his ability to stretch the floor and defend multiple positions is a major asset.
Bench Players
Team Fadeaway_J:
Maxi Kleber (22 mins): A solid stretch big, Kleber brings shooting and decent defense, particularly on the perimeter.
JJ Redick (20 mins): A pure shooter who can stretch the floor and provide offensive firepower off the bench.
Delon Wright (14 mins): A capable defender and playmaker, but his minutes would likely be limited due to the strong starting lineup.
Team Wackbone:
Nate McMillan (22 mins): A gritty defender and playmaker. His defense would help against Harden and Bridges, though he lacks the offensive firepower of others.
Steven Adams (20 mins): A traditional center, Adams provides elite rebounding, screens, and physicality. He could be useful in guarding Gobert or Barkley.
Lu Dort (20 mins): A strong perimeter defender who could take on a difficult defensive assignment, such as guarding Harden or Durant.
Team Strengths and Weaknesses
Team Fadeaway_J:
Strengths:

Offensive Firepower: Harden and Durant are offensive juggernauts, capable of creating their own shots and scoring in a variety of ways. Bridges and Batum provide solid secondary scoring and defense.
Defense and Rebounding: Gobert anchors the defense, and with players like Batum and Bridges on the perimeter, this team has a strong defensive presence.
Versatility: This team can switch defensively between most positions and has plenty of shooting to space the floor.
Weaknesses:

Playmaking outside of Harden: While Harden is an elite playmaker, the other players on this team aren’t as dynamic in that department (Batum is solid, but not at the same level). This could make offensive flow more difficult against an elite playmaker like Magic.
Lack of interior dominance: Gobert is great defensively, but Barkley and Holmgren will likely pose problems in the paint, particularly with Barkley’s physicality.
Team Wackbone:
Strengths:

Playmaking and Court Vision: Magic Johnson is arguably the best playmaker of all time. His ability to find teammates will help elevate everyone else’s game, especially Barkley and Hill, who can finish around the rim.
Physicality and Rebounding: Barkley and Holmgren are solid rebounders, and the team has a strong presence in the paint. Adams and Barkley will be tough to handle on the boards.
Versatile Scorers: Hill, Barkley, and Majerle can score in a variety of ways, and Chet Holmgren’s ability to stretch the floor with his shooting adds another layer to their offense.
Weaknesses:

Defensive Matchups: While Majerle and Hill are solid defenders, they could struggle against the size and skill of Durant and Harden. Magic's defense also wasn’t a strength, and Gobert could dominate in the paint against them.
Lack of a traditional perimeter scorer: Aside from Majerle, Wackbone’s team relies on more interior scoring and playmaking. If Durant or Bridges are locked in defensively, this could limit scoring options.
Key Matchups:
James Harden vs. Magic Johnson: Magic has a size advantage, but Harden’s offensive arsenal and three-point shooting could give him the edge in scoring. Magic’s playmaking, however, will be crucial for getting his teammates involved.
Kevin Durant vs. Charles Barkley: This is a battle of skill vs. power. Durant’s scoring versatility could challenge Barkley, but Barkley’s strength and physicality will be tough for Durant to deal with, especially in the post.
Rudy Gobert vs. Chet Holmgren: Gobert will likely dominate the paint defensively, but Holmgren’s shooting and shot-blocking ability could be a factor at both ends.
Conclusion
This series would likely be close, but Team Fadeaway_J has a slight edge overall. The combination of Harden's offensive brilliance, Durant's scoring versatility, and Gobert's defensive presence gives them a slightly better all-around team. While Magic’s playmaking and Barkley’s physicality are massive strengths for Team Wackbone, their defense (especially guarding Durant and Harden) could be an issue.

The key for Team Fadeaway_J will be their ability to contain Barkley in the paint and maintain ball movement to avoid the physicality of Wackbone. If they can spread the floor effectively and take advantage of their defensive advantages, they should win the series, likely in 6 or 7 games.

Prediction: Team Fadeaway_J wins in 6 or 7 games.

The AI seems to like the Harden/Durant pairing more than human voters do.

I'm not convinced that is wrong. I think people are biased against that pairing based on what happened when they were both post-prime in Brooklyn.

Congrats Fadeaway J. I do agree peak KD and Peak Harden is just about he best combo. I'm not particular high on the bench, (disagree a lot saying Kleber is decent at defence on the perimeter lol)

Well done to everyone
