FGA Per PlayerStandard Giannis build with awesome shooting at every other position, with the added wrinkle of Kawhi alongside him creating a dual matchup nightmare. Kyrie is the perfect third option: great floor spacer and off-ball player in general, good enough to take over offensively for long stretches, and has become great at pushing it in transition in his Dallas tenure, which dovetails nicely with Giannis. Horford and Gasol give us additional playmaking at the 5. Defensively, Horford affords us the option to play with more versatility than the real-life Bucks, and our 2 through 4 rotation is eyewatering. Kyrie also played some of the best defense of his career in the chosen season.
Matchup- Defensive assignments are straight up. We have solid individual matchups at every position, and all our frontcourt players (except Gasol) can switch if LeBron is running pick-and-roll.
- While LeBron is the best player in the series, Giannis and Kawhi are well clear of anyone else in the pecking order. Giannis alone occupies the attention of two or three defenders, and Kawhi is going to cook anyone who can't match his strength and physicality. It's just a tough combo to deal with for a team with only two legit forwards in the rotation.
- Kyrie really benefits from being third in the opponents' scouting report here, as Nash surely can't guard him and Drexler isn't a particularly good option either.
- The shooting of Horford and Gasol makes it even tougher for Dr P to "build a wall" against Giannis.
Good luck Dr P.
