Write Up:

Plan to give durantbirds team the 2004 Pistons treatment.
Contain Kobe and KAJ and then eliminate everyone else.

Jaylen Brown has defended MJ, Kawhi and now Kobe in this finals run. He’s up for the task.

DPOY KG will defend KAJ.

Stockton locks up Price. Mitch on Ariza is a nice hideaway. Kemp on Peja. Kemp will rough him up.

Bench’s are pretty equal.

Much like the last series we will pick and roll with Stockton and whoever he has Peja defending. KAJ cannot guard both Kemp and KG.

So if KAJ is guarding KG, we spam the pick and roll with Stockton and Kemp or vice versa, putting Peja in rough spots.

And if he tries Ariza in either situation it’s all day as well.

5 all star line up to his 4.

This is All NBA 3 Price not all NBA 1 Price who only played 29 minutes per game not 38 MPG as DB has him playing.

Our 2nd DPOY Tyson Chandler off the bench is another great option for KAJ.

Contain Kobe, KAJ and eliminate everyone else and we move on.

Our offense is too good with too many mismatches for DB to handle. Our defense is the perfect one to combat DB’s team.

We can defend KAJ!

Matchup
- Defensive assignments: Price vs Stockton, Kobe vs Brown, Ariza vs Richmond, Peja vs Kemp, KAJ vs Garnett.
- We match up well. Kobe and Ariza are great against Richmond and Brown. LMAM can have some minutes defending Kemp, and Beverley can take Richmond in his minutes enabling Ariza to take Kemp.
- Garnett functioning as center means he loses a lot of his value as an help defender, guarding Kareem. When Chandler enters, Kareem is even more free to protect the rim.
- We have the two (!!) by-far best offensive options in the series. Brown can't function at his best offensively if he takes Kobe defensively, which leaves a lot of the offensive heavy lifting on Richmond's shoulder. That alone can decide the series. But KG taking Kareem is another point for us.
- Price and Peja are monsterous supporting stars and spacers, while Ariza is the perfect glue guy for our lineup, adding even more spacing as a 47% from 3 shooter in the playoffs.

Kobe+Kareem is just on another level of offensive talent compared to Ness's team, with Price+Peja as an excellent 3rd and 4th option. Ness has a very well-rounded squad but IMO it lacks a true #1 offensive weapon whereas db has 2.

I’ll be honest, I’m really surprised DB lost here. I didn’t think this should have been close tbh.

I think durantbird gets the worst of the Peja/Kemp matchup especially on a team with Stockton, I don't like 09 Ariza as starter and I was always impressed by MadNESS having Kidd and Chandler combo for the bench.
