Madness Draft - R1 - GeorgeMarcus vs JimmyPlopper*

Here is a quick list of what you need in your writeup.

1. Specific years for each player on your team
2. Rotations and minutes for each player
3. Reasoning as to why your team will win and/or why people should vote for you.

Do not vote in this thread until both managers have submitted their writeups. Once the writeups are posted, I will add a poll, and the team with the most votes after 24 hours will advance. EACH MANAGER SHOULD ALSO VOTE FOR THEIR OWN TEAM IN THE POLL - IF YOU FAIL TO DO THIS, YOU ARE SIMPLY GIVING AWAY A VOTE. If the votes are tied, we will decide the matchup via AI vote.

You are not required to state or explain your vote, but you are free to comment in the thread if you want to.

If writeups aren't posted within 24 hours, we will vote solely based on the players they have drafted (and any rotations they have posted on their roster page).

This is going to be a really fun matchup. I think GeorgeMarcus put together a thoughtful, well-rounded team with a strong defensive identity and some sneaky scoring upside—Moncrief and JJJ especially give this group a lot of versatility. My approach leans on a balanced attack, with Hakeem anchoring both ends and supported by versatile defenders like Prince and Gordon to contain perimeter threats. Offensively, I’m looking to create mismatches through movement and spacing, while leaning on Kyrie and Spree for consistent shot creation. I’ve got a lot of respect for the way this team is constructed, and I’m excited to see how the styles clash.
Empathy doesn’t mean softening the truth — it means holding truth with humanity.

Starting Lineup
23 Jaren Jackson Jr / 13.0 FGA / DPOY, AS
79 Elvin Hayes / 18.0 FGA / NBA1, MVP-3
10 Mike Miller / 8.0 FGA
84 Sidney Moncrief / 14.2 FGA / DPOY, NBA2, MVP-8
05 Gilbert Arenas / 19.0 FGA / NBA3, MVP-12

Bench
13 Udonis Haslem / 3.3 FGA
98 Dale Ellis / 8.9 FGA / 6MOY-3, League Leader in 3pt% (.464) and eFG% (.588)
87 TR Dunn / 3.4 FGA / DPOY-8

87.8/88 FGA

Rotation
JJJ (36) / Haslem (12)
Hayes (40) / Miller (8)
Miller (24) / Ellis (24)
Moncrief (32) / Dunn (12) / Ellis (4)
Arenas (40) / Moncrief (8)

Write-Up:
Awesome team JP!

Offensively we'll rely on Arenas as our primary perimeter threat and Hayes as our primary interior threat. Our supporting scorers (JJJ/Moncrief/Miller/Ellis) are all well above league average in efficiency and will help offload the pressure from our top dogs.

Defensive Assignments:
JJJ --> Hakeem
Hayes --> AG
Miller --> Tayshaun
Moncrief --> Kyrie
Arenas --> Sprewell

Let the games begin.
