Redick Draft - Play in - Larry_Russell* vs MadNess

Post#1 » by durantbird » Fri Apr 11, 2025 6:42 pm

Here is a quick list of what you need in your writeup.

1. Specific years for each player on your team
2. Rotations and minutes for each player
3. Reasoning as to why your team will win and/or why people should vote for you.

Do not vote in this thread until both managers have submitted their writeups. Once the writeups are posted, I will add a poll, and the team with the most votes after 24 hours will advance. EACH MANAGER SHOULD ALSO VOTE FOR THEIR OWN TEAM IN THE POLL - IF YOU FAIL TO DO THIS, YOU ARE SIMPLY GIVING AWAY A VOTE. If the votes are tied, we will decide the matchup via AI vote.

You are not required to state or explain your vote, but you are free to comment in the thread if you want to.

If writeups aren't posted within 24 hours, we will vote solely based on the players they have drafted (and any rotations they have posted on their roster page).

MVP, NBA-1, DEF-1, AS

PG/SG: Delon Wright (2019-20) 5.6

SF/PF: Ime Udoka (2007-08) 5.1

C: Bo Outlaw (1995-96) 3

DPOY-8

PG: Stockton (38) / Wright (8)
SG: McGrady (38) / Wright (10)
SF: Erving (38) / Udoka (10)
PF: Jones (38) / Outlaw (5) / Udoka (5)
C: Kareem (40) / Outlaw (8)

87.9/88

Stockton - Category 2
McGrady - Orlando
Dr. J - Philly
Jones - New Orleans
Kareem - Milwaukee
Wright - Dallas
Udoka - Category 1
Outlaw - Los Angeles C

Defense will be as follows

Stockton on Billups
McGrady on Allen
Dr J on Korver
Herb Jones on Giannis
Kareem on Davis

I have pretty phenominal defense here. All time leader in steals manning the point, McGrady and Dr J get to use their length and athleticism to close out on shooter Allen and Korver while also being only a step outside the middle to help close off lanes. Herb Jones all defense DPOY vote getter takes on Giannis and plays positionally, Kareem mans the middle.

Off the bench I have great defenders as well.

Offensively, We completely obliterate Allen and Korver. Those 2 guys cannot come close to defending the firepower of McGrady and Dr J. And even though he is a great defender, I dont think that Davis has the chops to slow down prime/peak Kareem in the paint. Everyone can create, everyone can pass and I have an elite 3pt shooter who is the alltime assist leader who can run a lethal pick and roll 2 man game with Kareem allowing for McGrady and Dr J to take some plays off and instead attack off ball movement.

PG: Chauncey Billups (38) | James Harden (10) | Ray Allen
SG: Ray Allen (38) | James Harden (10) | Kyle Korver
SF: Kyle Korver (32) | James Harden (16) | Giannis
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo (38) | Anthony Davis (10) | Kyle Korver
Cc: Anthony Davis (30) | Marcin Gortat (9) | Brendan Haywood (9)

18’-19’ Giannis Antetokounmpo 17.4 FGA
14’-15’ Anthony Davis 17.6 FGA
07’-08’ Ray Allen - 13.5 FGA
05’-06’ Chauncey Billups - 12.5 FGA
23’-24’ James Harden - 11.4 FGA
05’-06’ Kyle Korver - 9.3 FGA
09’-10’ Marcin Gortat - 3.0 FGA
10’-11’ Brendan Haywood - 3.1 FGA

Total: 87.8 | 88.0 FGA

GL LR, it’s a shame this a play in game

Defense:
AD on Kareem
Korver on Herb
Giannis on Dr. J
Ray on Stockton
Billups on Tmac

Plan to cheat off Herb with Korver and double as needed. Between Giannis, AD and Billups we have 3 elite defenders who can slow down his big 3. Spacing is somewhat questionable, as Tmac needs the ball and is the main 3 point shooter. We can pack the paint especially.

Offense:
Elite spacing around Giannis / AD. Harden off the bench kills every teams second unit. Ray Allen will have Tmac running all over the court and getting tired.

Big 4’s are pretty equal.. but I have James Harden and his bench nothing…
