Here is a quick list of what you need in your writeup.

1. Specific years for each player on your team
2. Rotations and minutes for each player
3. Reasoning as to why your team will win and/or why people should vote for you.

Do not vote in this thread until both managers have submitted their writeups. Once the writeups are posted, I will add a poll, and the team with the most votes after 24 hours will advance. EACH MANAGER SHOULD ALSO VOTE FOR THEIR OWN TEAM IN THE POLL - IF YOU FAIL TO DO THIS, YOU ARE SIMPLY GIVING AWAY A VOTE. If the votes are tied, we will decide the matchup via AI vote.

You are not required to state or explain your vote, but you are free to comment in the thread if you want to.

If writeups aren't posted within 24 hours, we will vote solely based on the players they have drafted (and any rotations they have posted on their roster page).

Nice team Dr P.

GL

Matchups will change a little in this game for me and it will ALMOST be a straight up defense. THe change is going to come with what I do with McGrady and Herb Jones. Herb is an ELITE wing defender so he is going to be tasked with Jerry West and McGrady will hide on Al Horford as he is the least of my defensive worries.

MAtchups
Stockton on Oscar - Stockton is a cardio monster with elite hands. He can make Oscar work as hard as anyone can, especially this past peak version of Oscar.
Herb Jones on West - Jones is an ideal cover for west hasving the size, speed, power and athleticism to prevent west from doing Jerry things.
DrJ on Kawhi - Dr J was a great defender and averaged 3.7 stocks per game. He can easily match power and athleticism with Kawhi.
McGrady on Horford - Older Al and on this team, horford is much more a 3point line player, Should be a much easier cover for McGrady who was never known for defense but certainly has the height and athleticism to at least make Al have to work for his shots.
KAJ on Dwight - Dwight is an athletic monster, but he does rely on the pick and roll and KAJ should do fine enough defending that with his own athleticism and length.

Offensive

I believe I have the edge here.
1st: KAJ - Top 3 player of all time, master of the sky hook, athletic. Ungaurdable at his physical peak
2nd: He is getting set up by thge master of the 2 man game, alltime assist leader John Stockton in his absolute peak. The 2 man game with KAJ would be lethal.
3rd: the wing play - McGrady was one of the most gifted scorers to ever step on the court. Him playing off a 2 man game of Stockton and KAJ open the floor so much for him it would be scary. And to cap it off, the 6foot3 west has to guard either him or DrJ and that is a baaaad mismatch.
4th: Dr J. Come on, what more needs to be said about this.
5th: Spaced by shooters

The offense in the half court is lethal and thanks to awesome defense the transition offense will be deadly.

PG: Oscar Robertson (1971: 14.7 FGA * .85 = 12.5) - Bucks
SG: Jerry West (1968: 18.2 * .85 = 15.5) - coach
SF: Kawhi Leonard (2020: 19.9 FGA) - Clippers
PF: Al Horford (2018: 10.5 FGA) - 3pt
C: Dwight Howard (2010: 10.2 FGA) - Magic

PG/SG: Jason Terry (2005: 9.3 FGA) - Mavericks
PF: P.J. Tucker (2023: 3.0 FGA) - 76ers
PF: Larry Nance, Jr (2023: 4.7 FGA) - Pelicans

85.6 / 88

PG: Oscar Robertson (38) / Jason Terry (10)
SG: Jerry West (28) / Jason Terry (20)
SF: Kawhi Leonard (38) / Jerry West (10)
PF: Al Horford (28) / P.J. Tucker (10) / Larry Nance, Jr. (10)
C: Dwight Howard (38) / Al Horford (10)

GL Larry

Defensive matchups: Kawhi on Erving, West on Tmac, Oscar on Stockton, Horford on Herb, Dwight on Kareem

- We're in good shape on defense with two strong wing defenders to put on Erving and Tmac

- While his team is supremely talented, I believe mine has the edge in fit as I trust 2002 Tmac to incorporate less than any of my perimeter stars. Horford should also score on him well.

- Terry is the clear best bench player.

Wow both of these teams are insane!
Kids played football, drove cars, went to school, celebrated life; while soldiers, heroes, their brothers struggled to find their way home from war; and young boys watched and grew wiser in their dreams.

I was torn and ended up voting LR. Can't really go wrong with either of these teams. Well constructed gentlemen
