Matchup-
Defensive Assignments: We'll use Porter on Isiah Thomas, SGA and Hinrich to check Mitch Richmond, Ariza and Batum on Jalen Williams, Barkley on Philly Green or Anthony Mason (whichever is in), and Horford/Chandler to handle Moses Malone.
-
Defensive Advantage: Outside of Barkley (who is well-hidden on a low-usage guy like Green or Mason), we feature elite defenders across the board. Porter, SGA, Ariza, Batum, Hinrich, and Horford form a versatile and highly switchable defensive core capable of slowing down their main perimeter threats — Thomas, Richmond, and JDub. Horford matches Moses physically and tactically, and Chandler is an elite backup who brings elite rim protection (DPOY year). Plus, 2016 Horford’s spacing pulls Moses away from the paint, opening up driving lanes.
-
Exploiting Weaknesses: If JDub is tasked with defending Barkley, that’s a mismatch, he might struggle with a physical specimen like Charles. If Mason starts instead, he’s creating a lineup with three non-shooters — which compresses their spacing and hampers their offensive rhythm. Due to their rotation, Philly Green ends up logging heavy minutes on SGA, which we’ll exploit — this version of Green is slower and less equipped to handle elite on-ball creators of SGA's caliber.
-
Offensive Synergy: Our team has an outstanding fit. SGA and Barkley form one of the best inside-out duos in the draft. Both SGA and Porter can play on or off the ball, giving us flexibility. Add Horford, Hinrich, and Batum — and you've got a lineup full of smart, unselfish ball movers who can space the floor and find the open man. Porter and Horford slot in perfectly as third and fourth scoring options.
-
Depth & Reliability: We bring a real 8-man rotation with no weak links. Kerr in Portland isn’t providing much impact, while Chandler is a significantly better big than Tree Rollins. Both Chandler and Hinrich have a real case for best bench piece in the matchup.
