Draft Night Trades Draft - R1 - GeorgeMarcus* vs durantbird

Here is a quick list of what you need in your writeup.

1. Specific years for each player on your team
2. Rotations and minutes for each player
3. Reasoning as to why your team will win and/or why people should vote for you.

Do not vote in this thread until both managers have submitted their writeups. Once the writeups are posted, I will add a poll, and the team with the most votes after 24 hours will advance. EACH MANAGER SHOULD ALSO VOTE FOR THEIR OWN TEAM IN THE POLL - IF YOU FAIL TO DO THIS, YOU ARE SIMPLY GIVING AWAY A VOTE. If the votes are tied, we will decide the matchup via AI vote.

You are not required to state or explain your vote, but you are free to comment in the thread if you want to.

If writeups aren't posted within 24 hours, we will vote solely based on the players they have drafted (and any rotations they have posted on their roster page).

Bench: Raja Bell 03' - 3.0
Bench: Dorian Finney Smith 21' - 7.8

Rotation:
PG: Jrue Holiday 37 / Brent Barry 11
SG: Jimmy Butler 36 / Raja Bell 8 / Brent Barry 4
SF: Kevin Durant 16 / Dorian Finney Smith 30 / Jimmy Butler 2
PF: Giannis Antetounkumpo 26 / Kevin Durant 22
C: Myles Turner 34 / Giannis Antetounkumpo 14

87.6/88.0

vs

Kemp (38) / Haywood (10)
Dirk (38) / Pippen (10)
Pippen (30) / Snell (10) / Allen (8)
Allen (32) / Harper (16)
Payton (40) / Harper (8)

Matchup:
- Defensive assignments: Holiday vs Payton, Butler vs Allen, Durant vs Pippen, Giannis vs Dirk, Turner vs Kemp.
- We've got great defensive matchups. Our team has zero holes defensively, and the Giannis vs Dirk matchup is heavily in our favor. Pretty weak interior defense is going to be a problem against Giannis. While Payton and Pippen are great defenders, GM still has many holes we can exploit, and we are much more suited to switch heavy defensive scheme.
- We've got superb fit with 7 spacers around Giannis, including Butler with a good shooting season. Durant Giannis combo is igniting the imagination, and Holiday Giannis is already proven as an elite foundation.
- We also got a much better bench, with DFS Barry Bell as all very solid contributors with Snell and Haywood pretty limited, forcing three players to 40 minutes of play.

Starting Lineup
96 Shawn Kemp ~ 11.9 FGA ~ NBA2, MVP-8
11 Dirk Nowitzki ~ 16.2 FGA ~ Finals MVP, NBA2, MVP-6
96 Scottie Pippen ~ 15.8 FGA ~ NBA Champion, NBA1, DEF1, MVP-5
01 Ray Allen ~ 16.0 FGA ~ NBA3, MVP-11
98 Gary Payton ~ 15.6 FGA ~ NBA1, DEF1, MVP-3

Bench
11 Brendan Haywood ~ 3.1 FGA ~ NBA Champion
21 Tony Snell ~ 3.6 FGA
97 Ron Harper ~ 5.3 FGA ~ NBA Champion

87.4/88 FGA

Rotation
Kemp (38) / Haywood (10)
Dirk (38) / Pippen (10)
Pippen (30) / Snell (10) / Allen (8)
Allen (32) / Harper (16)
Payton (40) / Harper (8)

Write-Up
Initial Defensive Assignments:
Kemp --> Giannis
Dirk--> Turner
Pippen --> Durant
Allen --> Jrue
Payton --> Butler

Gotta keep this brief. Here we feature All-NBA talent at all 5 positions. Payton and Pippen will share responsibilities as primary floor general with highly efficient volume scorers in Dirk/Ray to feed early and often. The proven success of the Payton/Kemp 2-man game is one more way to keep defenses honest, with nobody to cheat off of.

Harper is a significant presence off the bench with 2-way talent and Championship pedigree. Defensive stalwart Haywood had success playing next to and behind Dirk, while Snell summoned the basketball Gods in the chosen season where he shot over 50% from 3 and over 70% TS.

Good luck db and great building!
