Here is a quick list of what you need in your writeup.

1. Specific years for each player on your team
2. Rotations and minutes for each player
3. Reasoning as to why your team will win and/or why people should vote for you.

Do not vote in this thread until both managers have submitted their writeups. Once the writeups are posted, I will add a poll, and the team with the most votes after 24 hours will advance. EACH MANAGER SHOULD ALSO VOTE FOR THEIR OWN TEAM IN THE POLL - IF YOU FAIL TO DO THIS, YOU ARE SIMPLY GIVING AWAY A VOTE. If the votes are tied, we will decide the matchup via AI vote.

You are not required to state or explain your vote, but you are free to comment in the thread if you want to.

If writeups aren't posted within 24 hours, we will vote solely based on the players they have drafted (and any rotations they have posted on their roster page).

Matchup
- Defensive assignments: Holiday vs Haliburton, Reggie vs Billups, Granger vs George, Garnett vs Tatum, Mutombo vs Walton.
- Defensively, we’re locked in. Mutombo anchors the paint with elite rim protection, and the combination of him and Garnett is just historically elite. Garnett takes Tatum and making him work hard for every possession. Jrue is locking down their initiator in Haliburton, making it hard for them to get into rhythm. Granger is a strong, underrated defender with the size and footwork to match up well with Paul George. Reggie’s not a stopper, but he’s smart and plays within the system—he can chase Billups and funnel him into our bigs. Off the bench, Iggy gives us switchability and high-level help defense, Ben Wallace brings toughness and rim protection. We’ve got the length, IQ, and physicality to make every possession a battle.
- They’ve got no real answer for Garnett—he can score from anywhere and exploit any mismatch. Haliburton gives them nowhere to hide defensively, and we’ll target him in actions all game. Plus, Billups lacks the size to bother Reggie off the ball, making it hard for them to contain our perimeter threats.
- Offensively, we’re well-balanced and tough to guard. Garnett is the hub—he can score, pass, and force constant attention, which opens up clean looks for Reggie and Granger. Jrue keeps the offense flowing and can create when needed, and Mutombo gives us second-chance points and vertical spacing. Their bench is nice, but we’ve got the edge—Hardaway gives us shot creation and tempo, and Iggy brings elite defense, playmaking, and transition pressure. Those two are probably the best bench players in the matchup. We stay dangerous when we go to the bench, and our offense doesn’t drop off.

Bill Walton ( 1986 ) 5.1 -
Paul George ( 2014 ) 17 -
Jayson Tatum ( 2024 ) 19.3 -
Chauncey Billups ( 2010 ) 13.2 -
Tyrese Haliburton ( 2025 ) 13.8 -

Isaiah Hartenstein ( 2024 ) 4.9 -
Anthony Mason ( 1995 ) 6.6 -
Brent Barry ( 2002 ) 7.4 -

87.3

Bill Walton (28) / Isaiah Hartenstein (20)
Paul George (30) / Anthony Mason (18)
Jayson Tatum (38) / Paul George (10)
Chauncey Billups (30) / Brent Barry (18)
Tyrese Haliburton (38) / Chauncey Billups (10)

On offense, we've got playmaking and scoring galore. Hali will run the team most of the time with Billups as backup providing 48 minutes of top notch playmaking. Garnett is not at his best defensively chasing a top drawer wing like Tatum, denting his help defense. Walton will work in the high post so Deke won't be camping down there too much. Granger and Miller are okay defenders in this setting, not elite.

Defensively, Walton/Deke is nice in that it creates some congestion. KG isn't a great spacer vs George, with Mason contributing some bumps. Tatum on Granger and Billups on Miller is solid. Jrue isn't featured nor elite so an improved Hail will be fine on him.

Bottom line, I don't think their offense works quite as well. I like our bench a bit better with IHart, Barry, and 6MOY Mason.
