Free Agency Draft - R1 - Dr Positivity* vs MadNess

Post#1 » by durantbird » Wed Jul 16, 2025 8:06 pm

Here is a quick list of what you need in your writeup.

1. Specific years for each player on your team
2. Rotations and minutes for each player
3. Reasoning as to why your team will win and/or why people should vote for you.

Do not vote in this thread until both managers have submitted their writeups. Once the writeups are posted, I will add a poll, and the team with the most votes after 24 hours will advance. EACH MANAGER SHOULD ALSO VOTE FOR THEIR OWN TEAM IN THE POLL - IF YOU FAIL TO DO THIS, YOU ARE SIMPLY GIVING AWAY A VOTE. If the votes are tied, we will decide the matchup via AI vote.

You are not required to state or explain your vote, but you are free to comment in the thread if you want to.

If writeups aren't posted within 24 hours, we will vote solely based on the players they have drafted (and any rotations they have posted on their roster page).

PG: Kyrie Irving (2015: 16.5 FGA)
SG: Dwyane Wade (2006: 18.8 FGA)
SF: OG Anunoby (2020: 8.2 FGA)
PF: Kevin Love (2018: 12.4 FGA)
C: Anthony Davis (2020: 17.7 FGA)

PG/SG: Alex Caruso (2020: 4.5 FGA)
SF: Otto Porter (2022: 6.6 FGA)
C: Nick Collison (2012: 3.2 FGA)

87.9 / 88

PG: Kyrie Irving (38) / Alex Caruso (10)
SG: Dwyane Wade (34) / Alex Caruso (14)
SF: OG Anunoby (32) / Otto Porter (12) / Dwyane Wade (4)
PF: Kevin Love (36) / Otto Porter (12)
C: Anthony Davis (38) / Nick Collison (10)

GL MadNESS

Defensive matchup: Anunoby on Kobe, Wade on Marion, Irving on Nash, Love on Mobley, Davis on Chandler. I expect him to have some defensive issues as well, as a set up like Nash-Anunoby, Marion-Wade, Kobe-Irving would have issues at all spots.

Note that he is using Mavs Marion, arguably less valuable than OG due to weaker 3pt, which makes his team less scary overall. Our frontcourt spacing is better overall and will stretch out his defensive bigs more while Davis can stay on Chandler and protect the rim. While he has a great bench we will take advantage of Amare and Caruso's defense will be huge in the series. Our best players being SG and C is more balanced while Nash is unlikely to be as valuable as he was on the Suns sharing the ball with Kobe.

17’-18’ Kyle Korver 6.6 FGA 44% 3’s

Write Up:

GL Dr. P

There’s nothing wrong with Mav’s Marion (Starting SF on championship team). He was still an elite defender.

The reason Kobe and Nash didn’t work in LA is because Nash was 40. MVP Nash and MVP Kobe would work just fine. Both high IQ basketball players with great vision and shooting.

Nash runs around and throws lobs to prime Mobley, peak Chandler, prime Marion, peak Amaré and even MVP Kobe. KCP/Marion always defend the best wings so Kobe can save for offense, and Nash hides on the worst offensive player.

Kobe in the 7SOL offense would be insane. Bring in Mobley and KCP’s (and Kobe’s) and watch out.

We easily have the best bench in this game with superior defense. One of the few teams with 2 true MVP’s.

Vote NESS!
