2010s Draft - Playin - Jon_3232* vs Laimbeer

Here is a quick list of what you need in your writeup.

1. Specific years for each player on your team
2. Rotations and minutes for each player
3. Reasoning as to why your team will win and/or why people should vote for you.

Do not vote in this thread until both managers have submitted their writeups. Once the writeups are posted, I will add a poll, and the team with the most votes after 24 hours will advance. EACH MANAGER SHOULD ALSO VOTE FOR THEIR OWN TEAM IN THE POLL - IF YOU FAIL TO DO THIS, YOU ARE SIMPLY GIVING AWAY A VOTE. If the votes are tied, we will decide the matchup via AI vote.

You are not required to state or explain your vote, but you are free to comment in the thread if you want to.

If writeups aren't posted within 24 hours, we will vote solely based on the players they have drafted (and any rotations they have posted on their roster page).

This will be a battle but I like my matchup here as I’ve got a good balance of elite shooting, versatile defense, and interior dominance that lines up perfectly against Laimbeers teams strengths.
Steph Curry and Brandon Roy give me two elite perimeter shot creators who can both stretch the floor and attack off the dribble, forcing Nash and Holiday into constant rotations. Danny Green and Draymond Green complement them as defensive anchors on the wings, with Draymond also neutralizing Giannis as much as anyone can by matching his physicality and using his IQ to wall off drives. Meanwhile, Joel Embiid provides a mismatch inside, overpowering Lopez in the post and is also being mobile enough to contest his spacing. Offensively, Curry’s gravity bends the defense, Roy punishes mismatches, and Embiid commands double-teams, leaving Green and Draymond free for spot-up threes or playmaking cuts.
On the defensive end, my team’s defense is switchable and discipline with great matchups for each player. Draymond is about as good as it gets to go against Giannis and Embiid at the rim should really slow him down. Ariza off the bench has good length to sub in against him too.

Brook Lopez ( 2019 ) 9.7
Giannis Antetokounmpo ( 2019 ) 17.3
Khris Middleton ( 2019 ) 14.9
Jrue Holiday ( 2018 ) 15.4
Steve Nash ( 2010 ) 12.2

Chris Andersen ( 2014 ) 3.8
Jason Tatum ( 2018 ) 10.4
Royce O'Neale ( 2019 ) 4.2

87.9

Brook Lopez (36) / Chris Andersen (8) / Giannis Antetokounmpo (4)
Giannis Antetokounmpo (36) / Jason Tatum (12)
Khris Middleton (30) / Jason Tatum (18)
Jrue Holiday (26) / Royce O'Neale (16) / Khris Middleton (6)
Steve Nash (36) / Jrue Holiday (12)

Good luck Jon.

We've got the champion Bucks joined by an absurdly over-qualified secondary playmaker. Nash running pick and roll with both Giannis and Lopez surrounded by space will be a huge new dimension to an already title worthy offense.

Defensively we'll invite Draymond to jack up threes, allowing Giannis to roam some, his best defensive role. Lopez/Embiid, Mids/Roy, Nash/Danny and Jrue/Curry is pretty solid. Particularly good is Jrue being almost uniquely qualified to dog Curry.

I like our bench better, Rookie Tatum played a big role on a team making a playoff run. Prig and Anthony are bargain fodder.

I don't trust Embiid to come through as one of two main cogs in a high stakes series.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

6 votes is a little underwhelming considering 2 of them are probably mine and Laimbeers lol
