Total: 87.0/88.0

We replicate the Showtime Lakers with Magic flanked by a dominant big man and a bunch of rangy athletes. Ewing is our defensive anchor, and this younger version should be able to change ends quickly to keep pace with Magic. Jones, Ariza, Cooper, and Beverley are all varying levels of 3-and-D perimeter players who can benefit from Magic's GOAT-tier playmaking while covering for his defensive deficiencies. Marion plays an even more crucial role as a rebounder and help defender who can guard multiple positions, while his off-ball cutting and speed in transition are fully weaponised playing with Magic. Frye is a legit stretch 4/5.

In the halfcourt, Magic is one of the most reliable offensive hubs the game has ever seen, and peak Ewing is a monster post scorer with a solid midrange jumper who should see his effectiveness jump with Magic setting the table. Marion and Jones slot in nicely as third and fourth options, with everyone else being at minimum a plus outside shooter.

PG: Chauncey Billups (2008: 11.2 FGA) - category 3, Celtics
SG: Marcus Smart (2019: 7.1 FGA) - category 4, Celtics
SF: Paul Pierce (2008: 13.7 FGA) - category 3, Celtics
PF: Jayson Tatum (2024: 19.3 FGA) - category 2, Celtics
C: Hakeem Olajuwon (1993: 19.5 FGA) - category 1, Rockets

SG/SF: Amen Thompson (2025: 10.1 FGA) - category 4, Rockets
PF: Nicolas Batum (2025: 3.1 FGA) - category 4, Rockets
C: Kurt Thomas (2007: 3.9 FGA) - category 4, Heat

87.9 / 88

PG: Chauncey Billups (38) / Marcus Smart (10)
SG: Marcus Smart (24) / Amen Thompson (24)
SF: Paul Pierce (38) / Amen Thompson (8) / Jayson Tatum (2)
PF: Jayson Tatum (38) / Nicolas Batum (12)
C: Hakeem Olajuwon (38) / Kurt Thomas (10)

We have 4 shooters around Hakeem, with Tatum as the Michael Jordan of Robert Horrys, and Pierce and Billups as superb 3rd and 4th options for this format, Billups is also a rich man's version of a Hakeem PG. While some teams can be argued to best us on offense, our defense gets the advantage over them as we have great defender at 4 starting spots in Hakeem, Tatum, Billups and Smart and the X factor in Thompson off the bench, our Billups/Smart/Thompson/Tatum/Hakeem lineup will be a terror on D. Thomas and Batum are solid old guys, Thomas played for 6 more years after this so was hardly running on fumes, and Batum still played 25mpg in the playoffs on a borderline contender playoff team.

Rotations
PG: Luka Doncic (38) / Jason Terry (10)
SG: Mikal Bridges (28) / Jason Terry (20)
SF: Peja Stojakovic (28) / Mikal Bridges (10) / Thabo Sefolosha (10)
PF: Al Horford (28) / Peja Stojakovic (10) / Jerami Grant (10)
C: Bill Russell (38) / Al Horford (10)

Offense
We run a PnR/PnP-heavy offense. Luka is one of the best floor generals of all time. Horford can either roll to the basket or pop from 3. Russ would have been an elite roll man in the modern game thanks to his freakish athleticism. Was also a terrific ball handler and facilitator at the C position. Peak Peja finished 4th in the MVP vote and made the all-NBA 2nd team. Can either stretch the floor for Luka or provide secondary shot creation. Terry brings additional scoring and shooting off the bench. Bridges is the ultimate glue guy.

Defense
We switch everything. Bridges is at his absolute defensive peak finishing 2nd in the DPOY vote and making the all-defensive 1st team. Can comfortably assume POA duties and switch on wings. Russ and Horford are mobile switchable bigs who can defend both the paint and the perimeter.

FGA
