Franchise Draft History Game: Play In- Jon_3232 vs lilroddyb*

Here is a quick list of what you need in your writeup.

1. Specific years for each player on your team
2. Rotations and minutes for each player
3. Reasoning as to why your team will win and/or why people should vote for you.

Do not vote in this thread until both managers have submitted their writeups. Once the writeups are posted, I will add a poll, and the team with the most votes after 24 hours will advance. EACH MANAGER SHOULD ALSO VOTE FOR THEIR OWN TEAM IN THE POLL - IF YOU FAIL TO DO THIS, YOU ARE SIMPLY GIVING AWAY A VOTE. If the votes are tied, we will decide the matchup via AI vote.

You are not required to state or explain your vote, but you are free to comment in the thread if you want to.

If writeups aren't posted within 24 hours, we will vote solely based on the players they have drafted (and any rotations they have posted on their roster page).

C: Nikola Jokic 38 min / Goga Bitadze 10 min
Pf: Andrei Kirilenko 38 min / James Posey
Sf: Paul George 38 min / James Posey
Sg: Reggie Miller 38 min / Brent Barry 10 min
Pg: Jamal Murray 38 min / Brent Barry 10 min

23 Nikola Jokic 14.8
23 Jamal Murray 16
95 Reggie Miller 13.5
14 Paul George 17
06 James Posey 5.9
08 Andrei Kirilenko 7.6
01 Brent Barry 6
25 Goga Bitadze 4.8
85.6

Offense

Team is build around Jokic. everyone around him is an good or elite threepoint shooter outsite of Goga so the floor will be spaced with high volume threepoint shooters like Reggie/Jamal and Paul George and AK was even good in the chosen season ( 38% from three ).

He can run pick and roll/pop with Murray and when Jamal is healthy he is extremely hard to contain and plays at an allstar level.

Reggie will score in the flow of the offense but can also take over games same with Paul George and AK will score in various ways like cutting to the basket or alley oops

Defense

I admit probably worst in the tournament hehe but should be ok all considered. AK and Paul George can guard multiple positions and cover ground. Jokic may not be the best defender but he is strong and can guard in the paint. Jamal and Reggie are not great defenders but can put more effort on the defensive end considering they don't need to carry the offense like they usually do

Jokic on Duncan/ Arvydas
AK on Duncan
Paul George on Grant Hill
Reggie Miller on drazen
Jamal on Manu

overall

Jon build a great team and his team is clearly better on the defensive but I think my team is clearly better on the offensive end.

I got the best offensive player in Jokic and maybe the second best in Reggie Miller and a lot better spacing overall with everyone in the starting lineup being a good threepoint shooter while Grant Hill/Duncan are not good threepoint shooters and Arvydas is not high volume shooter

best of luck Jon

San Antonio Spurs
- 2002/03 Tim Duncan (Cat 1) - 17.2 fga
- 2004/05 Manu Ginobili (Cat 3) - 10.5 fga

Portland TrailBlazers
- 1992/93 Drazen Petrovic (Cat 3) - 16.2 fga
- 1996/97 Arvydas Sabonis (Cat 4) - 9.5 fga
- 2016/16 Omer Asik (Cat 4) - 3 fga
- 1984/85 T.R Dunn (Cat 4) - 4.4 fga

Detroit Pistons
- 1996/97 Grant Hill (Cat 2) - 15.7 fga
- 2007/08 Tayshaun Prince (Cat 4) - 11.5 fga

88/88 fga

PG - Manu Ginobili (38) / Grant Hill (10)
SG - Drazen Petrovic (36) / TR Dunn (12)
SF - Grant Hill (20) / Tayshaun Prince (28)
PF - Tim Duncan (34) / Grant Hill (10) / Tayshaun Prince (4)
C - Arvydas Sabonis (32) / Omer Asik (10) / Tim Duncan (6)

GL Roddy

Tough match up, but I think my teams elite fundamentals and defence can squeak out the win here.
With Duncan and Sabonis, I think we can limit Jokic’s impact by matching his passing while overwhelming him physically inside. We have elite playmaking at almost every position that’ll force a lot of rotations to open up looks for Drazens shooting and Manu/Hills slashing.

Defensively we have answers to Roddy’s team, our length and intelligence will suffocate the perimeter. Sabonis/Duncan control the paint.

Manu on Murray
Drazen on Miller
Hill on George
Duncan and Sabonis share time on Jokic

Tayshaun Prince and Tr Dunn off the bench are big pieces to put on George and Miller that will be a big help here too
