are we going to get the option to negotiate with our own free agents before the free agency starts?

we did in the last game.

such as we send an offer to the commisioners say like

Rasheed Wallace - offering him 3 years and 10 million to stay in Miami and then the commish will send back, Rasheed would like 4 years and 11 million to resign.

or they deal could just be accepted if the commishs feel its good enough.

gives people a chance to retain their own free agents.

Probably, but I will post a more detailed schedule in a couple of days.

Also I will address cap holds from unrestricted free agents either tomorrow or sunday

I think situation and location need to be taken into consideration as well with unrestricted free agents. Bosh is a good example. Toronto's not so good of a team and/or the location may cause him to look elsewhere for instance even if they are willing to offer him the max amount.

Now if a team/location are perfect for the player AND they are offered a max amount...

Also big time players with opt outs should automatically become unrestricted free agents. Boozer, LeBron, Bosh, Amare, etc.

You can add

Robert Swift
Rodney Carney
Mikki Moore

to the unrestricted free agent list

No, I said he was partially guaranteed so essentially an expiring, which is why i gave you a 2nd to downgrade in talent while picking up my homeboy.

No, its thats not how partial guarn contracts work. He is bought out, and of the 6 million, only 2 counts against the cap...which is why i wanted to move him.

I call BS. I still have your emails. You said you wanted Collins cuz you knew him personally and I wasn't using him and you were willing to toss in a crap 2nd(#60 pick) to get him. You also said that Moore was unguaranteed so it didn't make a difference if we swapped.

thought i'd chime in. moore is partially guaranteed for 2 million next yr. so if he is kept on the roster next yr, he counts as/gets 6 million. if he is cut, he counts as/gets 2 mil. he's not an expiring deal.

That much is NOW obvious. It is the misrepresentation that has me annoyed.

I still have emails too. I did want Collins, I do know him, but even though I know him, it doesn't change the fact that he isn't really all that great of a player.

Jason Collins for Mikki Moore (last 2 years unguarenteed, so an expiring) and Miami 09 2nd?

I know Collins personally and want him on my team. I noticed that you aren't even playing him at all, so trade him for a player that is a tad bit better and a free 2nd?

That is misrepresentation. You offered him up as an expiring knowing full well he had money owed him. You don't say a word until just now. As I said, BS...

Well technically he wasn't completely off. His last 2 years weren't guarenteed. Only 2 million of the second to last season was guarenteed. Essentially he is an expiring contract. Its just that he is an expiring contract of $2 million less than you had thought. Maybe he didn't know the particulars. Maybe he just found out about the whole $2 million thing now. Or maybe he knew about it but figured it wouldn't be a big deal. Or maybe he was just trying to pull a fast one. I don't know. The situation is a little unclear.

In any case the only solution that I can see here is for the deal to be vetoed. It can't be vetoed completely because it seems as if the pick was then dealt away to someone else so that deal would be affected as well. Just have the two guys switch sides and let Sac-town eat the additional 2 million in salaries. As far as I can tell they seem to have plenty of salary space to absorb that amount of cash.

Considering deNIEd was the one to bring up the fact that he was owed $2mil once I released him, I will have to go with... he knew exactly what he was doing.

IMO it is crystal clear.

I can eat the $2mil if it comes down to it as I won't be active in the 09 Free Agency anyway. It is more the priniple of it that leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Then the situation is resolved.
