FYI, my birthday is today/tomorrow, so if my friends have my way I won't even be able to figure out how to operate a computer, much less post. Vintage and Poolboy are in charge. See you Monday. Happy Father's Day to those it applies to!

Guys, I'm going to make a decision. Due to Father's Day, I'm going to extend your write-up/rebuttal deadline by a day. Plan on Wednesday at noon being the start of the judging.

Writeup

Panthers Roster

PG - Chris Paul (40)/Jamal Crawford (8)/Baron Davis (inactive)
SG - Ray Allen (34)/ Raja Bell (14)/
SF - John Salmons(30)/ James Posey (18),
PF - Chris Bosh(40)/ Al Harrington (8)
Cc - Kendrick Perkins (34)/ Anderson Varejao (14) / Rasho Nesterovic (injury reserve)

General Team Overview: Starting 5

C- Kendrick Perkins:

9/8/1 with 2 bpg, 58% from the field and 60% from the free throw line.

Currently a top defensive center in the NBA, he has had a great season in BOS, and did a great job of defending Howard one on one in the playoffs. He is a guy that knows his limitations on offense and plays within them. He has one of the highest FG%'s in the league for a reason, he lives in the post and gets garbage baskets, although his offense has improved this year and he has a few nice post moves now.

His job is to anchor the defense from the C spot, and do the things he has always done, provide great post and help defense, block shots, and provide some serious lane intimidation. We will have fun building a defense around a center like Perkins, and great perimeter defenders. Due to the makeup of the team, he will get a lot of open looks, and has the perfect front-court mate in Bosh.

PF- Chris Bosh:

23/10/3 with 1 bpg, 1 spg, 49% from the field and 82% from the free throw line.

One of the best big men in the game, and the best offensive big man not named Dirk (Amare had a down year, 21/8). He will create mis-match problems for opposing bigs, and can score at will. His mid range game is automatic. He has the ability to post you up if you try to cover him with a smaller quicker guy as well as good passing ability for a big man. His defense has improved over the years and he also rebounds like a center. With the all help he has now, he will be able to get his points a lot easier. He can no longer be doubled and tripled

He is decent defensively, and now that he doesn't have to carry the whole team on his back, he will have more energy to concentrate on defense. In the Olympics he looked like a DPY, so we know that he is a good defender but the problem is that in TOR he has to carry the whole team without any help. Not the case here.

SF- John Salmons:

18/4/4 with 1 spg, 42% from 3, 47% from the field and 82% from the free throw line.

One of the more underrated players in the league, he is a good shooter from mid range and a great shooter from the 3. He can score in a number of different ways and is great on the fast break, but can also break down his man in the half court set and take it to the hoop. He is a fantastic defender, and can lock-down the other teams best wing player, in this case though he will be guarding Prince.

On this team his role will be a bit different then the one he has on CHI. Primarily his job will be to shutdown Prince and help on Ginobli, and on offense he will be a 4th option. He also gives my starting lineup a shot of athleticism, and a target for Paul to throw the alley to. Since Bosh is a perimeter based big, it will give Salmons more room to operate in the post, more room to drive. Add that to the fact that he is surrounded by great 3 point shooters, and I think he will thrive on this team.

SG- Ray Allen:

18/4/3 with 1 spg, 41% from 3, 48% from the field and 95% from the free throw line.

The best 3P shooter in the league, and probably the best off the ball star in the league as well. His job will be similar to what he does in BOS spread the floor, run off screens and rain the threes. We want to tire Kobe out, and will have him fighting through countless screens to get to Allen. A big reason that I traded for him was because he is such a good player off the ball. He is very active, and will cut and set screens and do all the little things that win games. It is a rare quality, a star that is willing to hustle for that extra possession. He has no ego and that is important in a league like this.

Allen's an outstanding clutch player, too, and a good defender. His defense largly goes unnoticed, he isn't a bowen or battier by any means, but consider the fact that he rarely goes for the steal and concentrates instead of staying in front of his man and contesting shots.

PG-Chris Paul:

23/11/6 with 3 spg, 36% from 3, 50% from the field and 87% from the free throw line.

Best point guard in the game. After a season in 2007-08 that ranked with the best point guard seasons in history, he simply topped it in 2008-09, raising his rebounding, scoring, shooting percentages, and steals. Not bad for a guy who has now led the league in assists and steals twice in four years as a pro.

He is a tough physical defender that will make you work for every basket, he was an all NBA defender, first team. Fantastic passer, great dribble penetrator, and a great all-around player. Has no real flaws he can hit the three at a pretty high %, he knows when to get everyone involved and when to take over. He's the primary playmaker on our team but we will have him be aggressive due to the lack of defense at the opposing PG spot.

Paul had no help in NO, here he has a team that is basically tailor made to suit him. Bosh is a legit 1st option on most teams, here he takes a ton of pressure off of Paul and in turn Bosh benefits from having a playmaker of Pauls caliper. I want the ball in Paul's hands as much as possible, and having Allen in our backcourt makes this possble. Allen with be getting a ton of open looks from 3. Paul is the ball-handling guard and Allen is the perfect off-ball guard.

A link that gives a bit of perspective on what Paul accomplished this season.

Ladies and gentleman, the Panthers starting 5.

Bench

We feel that our bench is a realistic one that has low maintaince guys that can accept their roles and do them well. This is the playoffs and we feel that our starters can handle heaver minutes, so we have them playing enough minutes to have as big an impact on the game as possible, but get enough rest to stay relatively fresh.

I've got size and rebounding in my front-court. Our frontcourt also has great defense and offense in both Variejo and Harrington. Posey will do his thing off the bench, lockdown defense, and hit the open three, spread the floor. Another reason I love Posey is that he is a savy vet that has rings and can be that calming presence on our team, a guy that knows what it takes and can guide some some our younger guys. Bell is similar to Posey except at the SG spot, he will make Ginobli take lower % attempts, and Harrington is my “score in bunches” guy. Salmons can handle some PG duties, but for this series I'll play Crawford as my backup PG, his job will be to bring the ball up and dump into Bosh or give it to Allen. Crawford is also an explosive scorer and can really boost my benchs offensive production.

Ladies and gentle men the Panthers bench!

Strategy

We built our team on three platforms. Defense, efficiency and balance. All starters shoot above at or above 47% from the field. My three point shooters are highly efficient, Ray Allen is the most efficient player in the league and Salmons is also amongst the league leaders in 3P%.

Defensively all my starters are commited two way players, Bosh is the worst defender out of all of them but now that he isn't carrying the team he will have more energy to concentrate on it, much like with the Olympic team. In terms of balance, everyone has a clear and defined role. Paul is the go to guy, Allen is the off the ball shooter, Salmons is the secondary wing creater and primary wing defender, Bosh is the dominant big, and Perkins is the defensive anchor. My bench is built the same way, our team chemistry should be perfect.

In terms of our gameplay, the team will run through Paul. Paul/Bosh pick and roll/pop will be near impossible to stop. We will primarily be a half court team, though we can ignite the fast break with our tight defense. Paul is a one man fast break. In the half court, we have a very balanced attack, and can score in a variety of ways, be it Allen raining 3's off of created shots from Paul, Bosh can create for himself and take also take advantage of the oppurtunites that Paul creates, same with Salmons.

On defense we will attempt to stop Ginobli by tiring him out on the defensive end, by having him chase Allen around screens just like we did with Kobe. It is a tiring task guarding Ray Allen, and on the other end Allen will have help guarding Ginobli. We have Raja Bell coming off the bench and his task is to force Ginobli into taking lower % attempts, and basically making him work for every shot. Salmons and Posey will also see some time on him, and we will try our best to play him straight up but will double when needed. Salmons and Posey will guard Prince.

Bosh can handle Camby or Scola and now that he doesn't have to carry the team all by himself he will have the energy to concentrate on defense.

Paul is a first team all nba defender and will give Williams hell on the defensive end. Our bench is also built around defensive stoppers that will make the opposing team work for every basket and force them into turnovers and lower FG%'s.

A few quotes regarding Pauls incredible defense.

But any and all small lapses aside, Paul's defensive pressure in the half court game is what truly makes the Hornets defense go. Putting pressure on the ball is what keeps the opponents' dribble drive to a minimum ... and that is what allows the team to double as much as it does. That can be a point of contention among critics of Byron Scott's scheme (why double at all?), but it's hard to argue that Paul's presence at the top of the key does not impact the effectiveness of this defense significantly.

Of course it is the doubling itself which is where he makes his living in the steal department, so to speak, so I'm not going to pretend like that isn't helping his numbers. But it can also be argued that the scheme works only because he is so good at generating turnovers out of it.

Regardless, Paul's importance on the defensive end is profound, and it's time people started recognizing that. Take the anecdotal evidence out of the equation, and you're still left with the best thief in NBA history.

http://blog.nola.com/gladow/2008/12/chr ... llian.html

My perimemter defenders are all good and our rotations will be tight and help defence will be there in case anyone gets beat..

We feel the opposing team have a few holes on their team, that we can exploit. The first is their frontcourt. It is good defensively IF Scola is coming off the bench, but no matter what way you cut it the oppising team has no answer for Chris Bosh. Scola is a crafty player but he is a role player and he doesn't have the lateral quicks to stay with Bosh. Same with Camby/Nene and Bynum, they along with Scola are all low post defenders and they can't slow down a perimemter big like Bosh. Also they aren't dangerous offensive players, Scola is the best scorer out of all of them. Bosh is a top 2 offensive big and a top 10 player in the game arguably. Simply a huge mis-match problem and the key to this series.

The second is for all of ShaqSux's talk of being “the best defensive team in the league I'd argue that he is up againest a comparable defensive team. I have a ton of post defense, Perkins is one of the best defensive anchors in the league, and Varejo is great as well. I have better defense at the PG spot. Bench defense is comparable though Bowen at this point us living off reputation. So Shaqs main advantage in most series is matched by me.

Now I assume ShaqSux is going to bring up the h2h matchup numbers between Williams and Paul and say that since Williams has the better numbers/most wins, that Williams is better or that ShaqSux has the advantage in the series. The thing about basketball is that its a team game. Williams had a lot more weapons, a better coach, and a better team defense. A lot of Williams assists came off of Okur hitting 3's off the drive and kick. All Paul has in NO is West, thats it. He took a pretty medicore player in Chandler and made him a lot better but other then that Paul has nothing to work with. NO has the worst wing rotation in the league so it all falls of Paul. I argue that on this team Paul murders Williams, and this is the reverse of the NO/UTA situation. Paul has Bosh as his big/primary weapon who does Williams have? Scola? Is that the primary weapon? Most of Ginobli's points come off of his own created shoots, he doesn't rely of a PG to create for him. I have Ray Allen as a guy that both doesn't need the ball in his hands to be effective and can also take over a game with his scoring. Outside of the backcourt ShaqSux (Even their 6th man, JR Smith is a guard) they have very little offense, Prince is similar to Salmons in that he is primarily a defender (both are damn good) but he isn't really a guy you want to rely on for offense, he is more of a very good gluy guy.

To some it up both teams are defensive monsters, and very balanced as well, but the opposing team has no answer for Bosh and simply can't match my offensive production. Ginobli isn't the player he used to be, he's been hampered by injuries all year and simply isn't as good as he used to be. Also he no longer has Tim Duncan to attract doubles and take the attention off him. The lack of offense out of the opposing frontcourt lets me concentrate of slowing down the opposing teams backcourt.

Panthers in 6.

The Teddy KGBs vs. The Bryant08s (love the name Teddy KGB, Rounders was a great movie)

Teddy KGB:
Cc: A Bogut/T Murphy
PF: K Garnett/P Millsap/Z Randolph
SF: C Anthony/S Jackson/M Beasley
SG: B Gordon/R Fernandez
PG: T Parker/R Alston/R Westbrook

bryant08:
PG: Derrick Rose (30)/OJ Mayo (10)/Roy (8)
SG: Brandon Roy (30)/Andre Iguodala (18)
SG: Danny Granger (30)/Andrei Kirilenko (18)
PF: David West (32)/Andrei Kirilenko (10)/Antawn Jamison (6)
C: Joakim Noah (18)/Mehmet Okur (30)

The Point Guards:
Derrick Rose vs. Tony Parker
Interesting matchup here, both players are solid offensively. Rose has the advantage of being larger and more physical, while Parker is quicker and has more experience. Both very solid floor generals IMO.

The Shooting Guards:
Brandon Roy vs. Ben Gordon
Gordon is good offensively, but Roy destroys him. This is where this series really needs to turn in my favour, with Roy being an elite player on the offensive side of the ball. He also can keep Gordon in check defensively. Roy is going to be working on the ball, pushing the tempo and doing what he does best late in games.

The Small Forwards:
Carmelo Anthony vs. Danny Granger/Andrei Kirilenko
Granger is simply put, a fantastic shooter. From all over the floor he has the ability to score the ball. He's also a solid defender, but it's Carmelo who is one of the best pure scorers in the league, and I'm not taking any chances. The longer and more adept defensive player in AK will be getting his minutes to ensure Carmelo's offensive effect is weakened.

The Power Forwards:
David West vs. Kevin Garnett
KG wasn't fully healthy this past season. His effectiveness may be harmed by this, and this gives David West some room to close the gap. However, KG is one of the best players in the league, and it's a very tough match up. AK will be seeing minutes here too to alter shots with his length, but I believe David West is just too much of a threat for my squad offensively to not play big minutes. His usage off the pick and roll is going to be huge. KG is a great defender also, but I'm hoping the screens West sets are hard enough to open up opportunities for himself or others.

The Centers:
Joakim Noah/Mehmet Okur vs. Andrew Bogut
Once again, Noah is going to be getting the start to slow down Bogut early on, but I don't believe Bogut is a big threat offensively. Okur adds the spacing and takes away from Bogut's opportunites to rebound. I believe that Okur is going to have to be very big for me to win this series, because he definitely will get his opportunites with the attention created by Roy/Granger/Iggy. If he hits his jumpers (which he is more than capable of), I have every chance of winning this series. On defense, whoever is guarding Bogut needs to utilize his strength to not let him establish low post position, but again I don't think much of my opponent's offense is going to revolve around Bogut.

The Benches:
Murphy/Millsap/Jackson/Fernandez/Alston vs. Mayo/Iguodala/Kirilenko or Granger/Jamison/Okur

Two very solid benches, and I would say my opponent's is more players who are used to having roles off the bench, but my team has the edge in talent. Once again with Mayo/Iggy/Kirilenko/Jamison/Okur, the squad is built to simply explode offensively, while creating turnovers on the defensive end. My biggest strengths are my opponent's biggest weaknesses with less talented players at the guard positions.

My advantages:
1. Offense
- My team is just deadly offensively, so much so I think it will be the key to the series. I have guys who can get to the hoop, shoot the 3, create plays, and shoot the mid range shot. Granger/Iggy/Roy can easily be players who ALL command double teams, and if even one is left open, they'll light you up.

2. Spacing
- It's been mentioned how important spacing the floor as so clearly illustrated in the NBA Finals. Whether it was the 3 point shooting that helped the Magic win games, or the clutch 3s hit just yesterday by Lamar Odom to put the game beyond reach, spacing the floor has never been more important. With Okur/West/Granger/Iggy/Roy as fantastic shooters from various spots on the floor, they'll definitely be causing problems.

3. Clutch scoring
- With all the excitement of the NBA Playoffs, guys need to keep their cool. In close game situations, I don't think there are more clutch players than the group that I have assembled. All have the ability to hit a shot towards the end of the game, and there is no defense against this.

Style of Play:
We're a half court team tailor made for Brandon Roy's needs. As mentioned earlier on, I like the idea of Rose starting the game as the primary playmaker, and using Roy for the majority of the game on the ball. Granger is the major perimeter threat for my club, and we're not the type to go into the low post and look for scoring there. The pick and roll is going to be a valuable part of our offense, as I think from the pick and roll, many opportunities are created due to sloppy rotations by the defense. On defense, it's going to take lots of pressure on LeBron James, and I'm not afraid to use the double team due to a lack of offensive options for the Knicks. Other than that, single coverage on everyone else should work, and I really don't see anyone who could just turn it on and light me up.

Conclusion:
I know this is going to be a tough matchup, but my guys are ready to battle. But I'm not going to sugar coat it and say that my team is going to take it in 4, Teddy KGB has built one of the best teams in this league. It's going to be a dog fight, and I say Roy/Granger/Iggy have the firepower to get it to 7 games. What happens after that, is up to you. May the best team win.

THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS

PG: Williams (35)/Duhon (13)/Ford (spot)
SG: Wade (38)/Parker (10)
SF: Durant (35)/Deng (13)
PF: Wallace (22)/ Aldridge (26)
C: Jefferson (34)/O`Neal (14)/Gortat (spot)

STRATEGY
Like my last opponent, MK’s team is well rounded and talented, with a nice mix of offensive and defensive players. However, my Cavs are just too offensively diverse and dynamic, and match up well enough to take advantages of the Heat’s flaws.

Offensively, Mo Williams won’t be asked to attack Rondo too much, but he is a good enough ballhandler to avoid too many careless turnovers against Rondo’s quick hands. Ironically, though Rondo is a disruptive help defender, his man defense is lacking, and often consists of letting opposing point guards blow by him and trying to poke the ball away from behind. Since Williams shares ball-handling duties with Wade, I won’t be asking Mo to try to create too much, but he will make Rondo pay if he leaves to double off of him onto Jefferson, Durant, or Wade. Defensively, Rondo can still be left open, as he has yet to prove that he can hit long jumpers consistently, let alone with pressure on him. If Duncan is causing us too much trouble, Rondo and his 36% jumpshooting can be left open and forced to beat us himself. He’s definitely still dangerous, but Mo is fast enough to stay in front of him and give him space to shoot, and dominated him statistically in the regular season, holding him to 33% shooting from the field in four regular season games. Off the bench, Ford should be able to get into the paint against West, who does better defensively against bigger players, and Duhon can provide solid defense when necessary. Overall, as long as Mo hits open shots and plays smart defensively, I don’t see why he can’t win this matchup.

Wade should be able to have his way with JJ, much like he did in the Heat-Hawks series. Though the Hawks won, Johnson struggled all series and only shot over 50% once in 7 games, while Wade put up 29/5/5 while being the focus of the entire defense. In this case, Wade has infinitely more offensive help, allowing him to focus more on making Johnson’s life hell and bothering him defensively. Johnson will likely also have to guard Wade, and being the primary creator for his team and defending Wade will take a lot out of him. Off the bench, Parker can play more tough defense and hit open threes, and hopefully limit the smaller Stuckey, but Wade will get the bulk of the minutes here, and even if Rondo or West is guarding him, he’ll have his way against any Heat guard. This is where the series will be won.

At small forward, two pure scorers match up. Durant and Jefferson have similar shapes, game styles, and stats, but Durant has him beat in every statistical category, confirming his superiority. Both guys have similar roles, but Durant just fills it better by being a better shooter, rebounder, and all-around player. Luol Deng can come off the bench and provide solid defense on Jefferson, Johnson, or Marvin Williams, who might get some time at power forward too. If that’s the case, Deng will be moved to the 4 to match up against Williams if he’s really too quick for my bigs, which I doubt is the case. Overall though, Jefferson is not a good enough defender to really contain Durant, which is crucial to beating my team, whereas Durant, with help defense from Wade, should do a better job on Jefferson.

Sheed will have to use every defensive trick in the book to stop Duncan, but I think he can do a good job of it. Over the last few seasons Wallace has held Duncan to games of 37% and 39% shooting, and with some timely help doubling from Wade, should be able to harass him into some tough shooting nights again. Offensively, I’m only asking him to space the floor and hit open jumpers, pulling whoever is guarding him out of the paint and creating room for Jefferson, Wade, and Durant. Duncan will still get his, of course, but Sheed is one of the first people you would choose to guard him. Aldridge can come in off the bench to make Timmy work on defense, and Jermaine will come in for more solid defense. Duncan will have to absolutely dominate for the Heat to have a chance of winning, and I don’t think he can against my bigs.

Jefferson should be able to handle whoever is thrown at him in the post, especially if Marvin Williams is starting again. Horford is a quality rebounder and can hit open shots, but he’s undersized and doesn’t have the length to bother Jefferson’s shots. Duncan will be able to play tough D, but Jefferson’s game is based on pump fakes, spins, and great footwork, and a finesse game is much harder to defend than a pure power game. Jefferson’s post moves will bother even the veteran Duncan, and he can easily catch and shoot short mid-range shots from passes from Mo or Wade, and finish dump passes down low. Sheed and O’Neal will also get minutes at center, but Gortat may be brought in if I feel we need more rebounding and shotblocking down low.

Overall, I don’t see how MK’s team can really win. His two main scorers will have fantastic defenders guarding them, and Rondo is always an offensive liability, making it possible for my guards to play off him and use their quick hands to discourage Johnson’s forays into the paint or Duncan’s postups. If those two are somewhat neutralized, this becomes an easy game, as Richard Jefferson cannot beat a team this talented by himself. The only concern here is Duncan’s ability to anchor a defense, but with constant pressure from the best slashing guard in the game, as well as Durant and Jefferson, Duncan will have to stay on his man or risk early foul trouble, and if he goes down they have no interior presence to discourage my offensive studs. In conclusion, the Cavs are just too versatile offensively and have the right mix of defenders to really bother the Heat and pull out a convincing win.

BlackIcevs. ShaqSux

ShaqSux's Starting Lineup:

ImageImageImageImageImage

Starting lineup summary:
As you can clearly see this lineup has extreme balance. You have got a ton of playoff and championship experience while still having great youth on the floor. You have offensive threats waiting to erupt, while still having tenacious defenders. This lineup is a lineup that can take you to the O'Brien Trophy.

The bench:
ImageImageImageImageImage

Summary of the bench: Once again what you will notice is balance. The bench once again has youth and experience. Some great offense and shooter in Fisher and Smith and loaded defense from the whole bench. This team is loaded with clutch leaders.

Way deep:
ImageImageImage

Summary of the deep guys: These guys are great players who will definitely get some time off the pine. Brooks is a dynamic scoring point guard, Chandler is capable of putting up big numbers any game and Collison played 156 games in 07-08, how was he not the MVP?
(See. http://www.realgm.com/src_playerfile/839/nick_collison/)
07-08 SEA 156 28.5 50.2 73.7 0.0 9.4 1.5 0.6 0.8 9.8

Minutes:

Deron(38)/Fisher(10)/Brooks*
Ginobli(34)/Smith(10)/Bowen(4)
Prince(30)/Bowen(14)/Chandler(4)
Scola(24)/Camby(16)/Nene(8)/Collison*
Bynum(28)/Nene(10)/Camby(10)/Collison*

*= Denotes blow out minutes only

Strategy: Attack the paint. Keep up hard defense.

My opponent has one of the weaker interior defending big men in Bosh. I plan to run many pick and rolls with Deron and Scola. Bosh does not have the quickness or footwork to stride with Scola, while Bosh a great offensive player he simply doesn't have the skill set on defense to control a crafty player like Scola within 15 feet of the paint. By attacking Bosh with every angle with guys who are very capable of drawing the foul like Deron, Manu, and Luis we will put Bosh in foul trouble and force guys like Al Harrington on to the floor. Yikes! My opponent for some reason believes he can just simply state that a bad defender will become a good defender if paired with the right team mates, because their offensive load is lightened. This could be. But in this game we can not assume that someone is going to be better, some people just don't have the skill. Saying that Bruce Bowen would be a better offensive player because he is playing with Rondo and Camby, two other good defenders , is the same thing. Do we really know that someone's capabilities on one side of the ball will increase just because they are doing less on the other side? Saying that Ginobli's offense will be limited by running him through screens is absurd. My team has to capability of switching on defense and picking up Ray through any screens he decides to run. So your plan to defend Ginobli is washed. Allen can simply just not stay with Ginobli. Deron will create havoc, just like Paul he is a one man fast break, Paul and Deron are close comparisons when it comes to any category you can put out there. Deron plays very solid defense, has amazing court vision, precision passing, and can create his own as well as anyone not named Kobe or Lebron.

Running your point for 8 minutes of the game... Saying Jamal Crawford or John Salmons will handle your point against Derek Fisher, is going to get you in trouble. The idea of not having more than one point guard in a rotation is insane, especially with so many guys on your team who are best with the ball in their hands.

Offensively this team can run many different styles. You will see pick and rolls with Scola and Williams, you will see banging the ball down low and kicking out to great shooters, and you will see some serious battles down low.

Chemistry will not be a problem, all of our players are playing the roles they not only play well at but roles they like to be in. The perfect compilation of veteran playoff experience and young stars is exactly what is needed to take this series.

At every position, I have a good or great defender. Defense wins games.

PG- Deron and Fisher are both hard nose fighters who can hang with any point guard in the league.
SG- Ginobli is a tough hands in your face good perimeter defender.
SF- Tayshaun and Bowen will not only exploit your weak offense at this position but be huge with their help defense.
PF- Scola is a crafty defender. Camby is a former DPOY who hasn't lost much since then.
C- Bynum and Nene are both above average defenders.

To sum it up:
A. My opponent is not a balanced team, if he only has one point guard in his rotation
B. My defense is capable of limiting every player on his team
C. This balanced team has all the fundamentals to be champs...

Strategy: Attack the paint. Keep up hard defense.

Attack the paint? Thats fine I have Perkins one of the best "paint" defenders in the league and depth at that position. Keep up hard defense? Well seeing as I also have a top defensive team I'm not sure if this is even an advantage for you, its a wash.

My opponent has one of the weaker interior defending big men in Bosh. I plan to run many pick and rolls with Deron and Scola. Bosh does not have the quickness or footwork to stride with Scola.

This is laughable. First of all, how is Scola going to operate in the post? All your centers are post players save maybe Camby who is a bench player if I'm not mistaken. Bosh doesn't have the quickness to keep up with Scola? Is this how you are going to address the biggest mismatch in our matchup? Scola doesn't have Yao taking the attention off of him, and he is the one that doesn't have the quickness to keep up with Bosh, not the other way around.

First off Al Harrington put up 20/7, and I can play my backup C if I run into to any foul trouble with Bosh. Also Perkins is the one manning the post, not Bosh. As to your second point, watch the Olympics from last summer. Many said that Bosh was the teams best defender, and certainly their best big man. When you don't have to carry a team on your own, when you don't have to constantly worry about foul trouble, when you don't have to face double and triple teams everytime you touch the ball, you have more energy to concentrate on defense. Plus your acting like Scola is this offensive monster.

You also fail to mention that Scola isn't a good defenders either and he has no way to stop Bosh on the other end. All you mention is your team defense and yet you ignore mine.

Saying that Ginobli's offense will be limited by running him through screens is absurd. My team has to capability of switching on defense and picking up Ray through any screens he decides to run. So your plan to defend Ginobli is washed.

? I said that I'd tire him out on one end of the floor, but that isn't the main way I was going to defend him. Allen and Bell will defend him, and Posey sometimes, you took one thing I said and made it seem that the main way I was going to stop Ginobli was to tire him out.

Deron will create havoc, just like Paul he is a one man fast break, Paul and Deron are close comparisons when it comes to any category you can put out there. Deron plays very solid defense, has amazing court vision, precision passing, and can create his own as well as anyone not named Kobe or Lebron or Paul.

Fixed. Also Pauls season numbers are better then Williams in almost every cat.

Running your point for 8 minutes of the game... Saying Jamal Crawford or John Salmons will handle your point against Derek Fisher, is going to get you in trouble. The idea of not having more than one point guard in a rotation is insane, especially with so many guys on your team who are best with the ball in their hands.

....Crawford plays PG for GS. So there goes that. Its 8 minutes, I think I'll manage.

Offensively this team can run many different styles. You will see pick and rolls with Scola and Williams, you will see banging the ball down low and kicking out to great shooters, and you will see some serious battles down low.

Let me repeat Scola no longer has Yao taking all that attention off of him. In the role on this team he is the 2nd option? He is a role player being asked to do way to much in a 12 team league. Also who is going to be banging it down low? Bynum? Not much of a low post threat. Also your shooters are going to have a hard time getting open looks. Your lack of scoring up front will allow me to stay on shooters and slow down your backcourt.

Chemistry will not be a problem, all of our players are playing the roles they not only play well at but roles they like to be in. The perfect compilation of veteran playoff experience and young stars is exactly what is needed to take this series.

Again this isn't an advantage I also have the same traits on my team.

At every position, I have a good or great defender. Defense wins games.

You need to put points on the board as well, and Scola isn't exactly a good/great defender.

PG- Deron and Fisher are both hard nose fighters who can hang with any point guard in the league.

Paul is the exception though Deron can matchup with him, Fisher is going to be roasted.

SG- Ginobli is a tough hands in your face good perimeter defender.

He is also a year older and not the same player he once was.

SF- Tayshaun and Bowen will not only exploit your weak offense at this position but be huge with their help defense.

 , Salmons put up better offensive numbers then Prince (14ppg compared to 18) and same with Posey and Bowen (3ppg compared to 9). Also both Salmons and Posey are exceptional defenders. Er looks like that backfired

PF- Scola is a crafty defender. Camby is a former DPOY who hasn't lost much since then.

Again this crafty word pops up. How is Scola (your only threat up front) going to match Boshs production?

C- Bynum and Nene are both above average defenders.

Agreed but both are also non threats offensively

To sum it up:
A. My opponent is not a balanced team, if he only has one point guard in his rotation
B. My defense is capable of limiting every player on his team
C. This balanced team has all the fundamentals to be champs...

A. ...But I have a backup PG in Crawford who doesn't need to be a pure point. My backup PG is playing 8 minutes a game. This equates to me not having a balanced team? Grasping for straws now aren't we?
B. But it isn't. Read my writeup I'm not going to repeat everything I wrote. Also my team is comparable defensively and much, much more potent offensively.
C. So is mine...

Miami Heat
Line-up for round 2:

PG: Rondo (33) / Stuckey (15)
SG: Joe Johnson (38) / Delonte West (10) / Garcia*
SF: Richard Jefferson (33) / Marvin Williams (15) / Garcia*
PF: Duncan (25) / Bargnani (18) / Marvin Williams (5) / Bass*
C: Horford (33) / Duncan (15) / Dampier *

(*blow-out minutes)

vs

PG: Williams (35)/Duhon (13)/Ford (spot)
SG: Wade (38)/Parker (10)
SF: Durant (35)/Deng (13)
PF: Wallace (22)/ Aldridge (26)
C: Jefferson (34)/O`Neal (14)/Gortat (spot)

Match-ups:

Guards:
Starters: Rajon Rondo/Joe Johnson vs Mo Williams/D.Wade
While Wade is a top 3 player in the league right now, I have a very good defender who's effective guarding him (has length to bother his shot and enough quickness to keep him out of the paint) while still providing an offensive option. And for 15 min, Stuckey is also gonna guard him. Rondo is the best perimeter defensive PG in the league and will eliminate Mo-Will on one end quite easily while blowing by him on the other. Only because of Wade, the Cavs get a slight edge here.

Advantage: Cavs (slight)

Bench: Rodney Stuckey/Delonte West vs Duhon/Parker
Well, Stuckey is definitely a better creator and scorer than either of Duhon/Parker and at least as good a defender.

Advantage: Miami Heat (slight)

Wings:
Starters: Richard Jefferson vs Durant
Jefferson has absolutely destroyed Durant every time they've met. I don't see any reason why he wouldn't do it this time.

Advantage: Miami Heat

Bench: Marvin Williams vs Deng
Marvin is a better shooter, better rebounder and (slightly) better defender than Deng.

Advantage: Miami Heat (slight)

Bigs:
Starters: Tim Duncan/Al Horford vs Al Jefferson/R. Wallace
This is where the series will be decided at. Tim Duncan is the best PF/C in the game at both ends of the court. While Al Jefferson's game may be based on pump fakes, spins and great footwork, Duncan pretty much invented all those moves. I will run a lot of early isolations for TD on offense and he's just gonna abuse Jefferson or Rasheed (or whoever is guarding him) in the low, mid or high post and score or get them in early foul trouble fairly easily. Or if he's doubled, he can pass the ball to the open man for the open J (or Rondo for the cut to the basket).

Advantage: Miami Heat

Bench: Andrea Bargnani/[Duncan] vs Aldridge/J.O`Neal
Bargnani's main role will be to draw the opponent's defenders away from the paint and play solid man-to-man defense and bother their shots with his length on them on the other end. I believe he'll do well, but the Cavs still get a slight edge here.

Advantage: Cavs (slight)

My main advantages:

1. Defense
While I have great to excellent defenders at every position, my opponent only has Wade and a worn-out Rasheed. Wade's gonna have to help out on defense a lot and my shooters will be left wide open. Having to do everything on the defensive end will also tire him and limit him on offense.

2. Experience
All of my main rotation guys have played quite a lot in the playoffs. Some of my opponent's players haven't even been close (or played very little)...

3. Chemistry
3 of my main rotation players have played on the same team for 2+ seasons.

Conclusion:
No doubt, it's gonna be a tough series, but I just don't see how Miami Heat can lose this.
