Build A Dynasty 1995 Season

by SabasRevenge!
Now that the contraction draft is over, the regular season will begin.

Here is the schedule:
Saturday, August 22: Regular Season/Trading Ends
Tuesday, August 25: Voting/Ranking Due
Wednesday, August 26: Draft Lottery
Friday, August 27: 2005 NBA Draft Begins
Free Agency will begin when the draft concludes

Any 1995 season news or players who are on the trading block should be posted in this thread.

Notes: We need to find judges for free agency. I'll run the draft lottery if nobody has any objections; I don't think the Sonics will be in the lotto.
Updated team descriptions will be crucial for voting; please make sure you have at least a brief description of your team and roles for each player if possible.

The Sonics claim Todd Day, Marty Conlon, Michael Cage, Howard Eisley off of waivers. We assume the duration of their contracts.

NEWSWORTHY:
Scottie Pippen (Chi) was tossed from last night's game vs San
Antonio. After he was tossed, he threw a chair on the court.
Ref Sam Crawford: "I asked if he was concerned with the safety of
other players after throwing a chair. 'Not really,' Pippen said."
Fine and suspension to be announced later.

Scottie Pippen (Chi) says that he wants out of Chicago and does
not care where. "No place could be worse than here." "Trade me
or [Chicago GM Jerry] Krause." Pippen is signed through the 96-97
season and will be 32 when he is able to become an unrestricted
free agent.

Scott Williams (then Chi) took the prize with wierdest injuries
last season with a bowling injury, injury due to lifting a TV,
and injury while stretching. Charles Barkley (Pho) is this
year's winner. Barkley burned the first layer of his corneas
when he rubbed his eyes because of the bright stage lights at
an Eric Clapton concert. A chemical reaction occurred due to
the body lotion Barkley had been using. The eyes are just
irritated - no permanent damage. He will miss Phoenix's first
game due to his eyes and his strained stomach muscle. He is
listed as game-to-game.

Dennis Rodman's (SA) suspension ended and he decided to
celebrate by skipping Thursday's practice. The GM and coach
have scheduled a meeting with Rodman for today - wonder if
he will show up for it.

Dennis Rodman (SA) is not listed as suspended. He has been given an
indefinite leave of absence - it was mutually agreed upon between the
team and Rodman.

Dennis Rodman (SA) showed up for the Spurs practice Friday. He is
expected to play in Monday's game vs Washington.

Shaquille O'Neal (Orl) on Dennis Rodman (SA), who said that O'Neal does not
rebounds as well as he should for his size: "Me responding to Rodman is like
talking to a Bugs Bunny doll. I don't like to talk to Looney Tunes."

A Nike ad showing in Japan has an American going up to some Japanese boys
who were shooting around and teaches them how to trash talk. CNN
correspondent Bill Dorman: "Roughly translated, (it means), "Your mother's
belly button sticks out."

"I thought in overtime you got another foul." Coach John Lucas (Phi) on
trying to send Shawn Bradley, who had fouled out in the 4th quarter, into
an overtime game against New York.

John Stockton (Uta) passed Magic Johnson to become the NBA's
all-time career assists leader. Stockton now has 9,927 assists.
Johnson had 9,921.

Vernon Maxwell (Hou) was ejected after going into the stands and punching
a fan. Robert Horry (Hou) and assistant Larry Smith (Hou) were also
ejected for following Maxwell into the stands. Fines and suspensions to
be announced later.

Also, Clyde Drexler was requesting a trade prior to the contraction draft but is happy to be home in Houston.

Nate McMillan, Kendall Gill, Sam Perkins are on the block.

Anyone outside of Payton can be had as well. Kemp has six very good season left, especially if he's in the right situation. Gill can play great defense and peaks offensively with a great season in '97. He also leads the league with 2.7 SPG in '99 and is a two way contributor for the rest of his contract. Perk is a very good shooting big man and McMillan is a tenacious defender at either guard spot, a pretty good distributor, and a great hustle guy and leader.

Don't you think this would be a little difficult considering all rosters are still not even posted?

The regular season ends at midnight, votes can be sent in starting Sunday. Each voting GM will receive one additional point.

I just sent out an e-mail reminder for roster posting and voting on the playoffs.

Voting guidelines:
16 teams will get one point each for making the playoffs. Four teams will be in the draft lottery. *Do not rank your own team.

The top eight ranked teams will receive extra points (12, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1).

Each GM must rank the top five promising young teams, top three offenses, top three defenses, and the five teams who made the biggest improvement.

To recap, all teams (20 minus own team equals 19) will be ranked in order by each GM. Each GM will also rank teams in the four sub-categories (promise, improvement, offense, defense).

I still need e-mail addresses for dcash and cellardoor. It looks like booz is ignoring this game even though he's still posting on the board, so we should find a replacement for the Magic.

Keep the faith Denied! You guys are only two seeds from Wesley, Jordan, Pippen and Davis!

Alright, looks like this is rolling. I'll get my rankings together shortly.

Are these rankings strictly speaking of regular season, or are we talking about playoffs as well?

lol,

I really only consintrated on the playoff teams. With very min movement, I used actuall season standings for most, guess I didn't subtract Richmond.

And for this game, Jordan was not playing, that is why I had the Bulls 9th. Without Jordan they struggled. I am only 1 vote. Looking forward to the draft later in the week. Charlotte is looking to make some deals. Send all offers

another question is was the Nets/Pacers trade void or not? Nets posted that it was canceled because of the trading consecuative picks rule, but Pacers have those players in his roster for judging

Jordan came back mid-season and played better than most every other SG, but not quite his usual insane self. Pippen/Wesley/Davis is nothing to sneeze at considering a similarly talented team won 50 games the year before.
