GM a Team: Voting

Post#1 » by skorff26 » Wed Aug 19, 2009 2:45 am

Category 1: Rate the teams by conference, from the best to the worst for this category;
How well did the team improve for the present compared to what the team started with.

Category 2: Rate the teams by conference, from the best to the worst for this category;
How well did the team improve for the future compared to what the team started with.

Category 3: Rate all the teams together, from best to worst;
How well did the GM do in general (take everything into consideration)

-Teams that did not send in a write-up will be penalized by losing some points. Please still include them in your rankings as you think they should be.
-Also, do NOT rank your own team, for submitting your votes, your team will get an automatic 50 points for each category
-Submit your rankings to me at skorf26@yahoo.com

-The scoring will be
1: 50 points
2: 42 points
3: 37 points
4: 32 points
5: 28 points
6: 24 points
7: 20 points
8: 16 points
9: 13 points
10: 10 points
11: 7 points
12: 5 points
13: 3 points
14: 1 point
15: 0 points

-I will post any rosters that write-ups are not up for by Wednesday morning (except for Philly and LA Clippers, they have asked for a day extension)
-If you have not submitted a write-up, please do right away.

I hope to see how each GM voted after the results are all in.

It's email this time? Usually it's public...

But I guess it is better - r0cd0gg, it probably wouldn't end up being pretty...

My opnion is they shouldn't be allowed. Some teams cheated to get the teams they have and outsiders have no idea about it so i think only ppl who participated on the game should vote.

what do you mean by cheating... it is really hard to cheat when trades can be vetoed if the are in favour of a gm.

Sorry for the flood but i think this is important. I am giving my rates right now and i have a suggestion for the Write Ups to make our lives easier when rating the teams. Would be good if all teams post the 2010/2011 and the 2011/2012 total salary, that way we know how much cap space or how deep on the LT teams will be.

A few teams have done that, and that made easier to understand what they have done with their teams.

when are votes due? Only 21 teams with write ups and only 9 teams in the WEST. I only will vote for teams that bothered to do a writeup

Should we just do the top 8 in each conference? (And then top 15 for overall)

Or should we rate every team?

with all the GM's not doing a writeup, I can not see how we could do top 15 in each conferance

What is the last day you are going to accept any write ups?

I don't know when the voting is due and I've already started to do it but it's become too much of a pain in the ass. When people can't even give us the respect to do a write up or atleast update their rosters so we can do our voting why should we give them the respect of going through all of their trades and transactions, adding up their total salaries etc so we can actually give an accurate vote?

Teams that don't have write-ups by tomorrow night, I'm going to fill them into the bottom slots and vote for the teams that actually put the time to do what is part of the game.

I don't care if it's the best tema in the league. If they didn't do a write-up, they are getting a bottom slot. IMO the better GM's are the ones that actually do their jobs :D

My right up was only 3 words. I expect towards the bottom of the barrel so...

I don't consider that a write up, just like I don't consider Sac's a write up. (Not that you care.)

I don't. I ran out of steam on this go round a few weeks back and don't expect much at this point so no reason to try and garner any 10th place votes by bustin my nuts with typin a whole lot o nuthin. If I had a team worth a crap I would mos def put in a good effort but that went down the toilet with FA so...

I will say I had fun for the most part and will take the time to read and rate everyone else as they deserve to get proper respect for their time and effort.

If we could anonymously see what each GM rated us that'd be nice; at the very least we can see what kind of teams get what kind of ratings for the purpose of improving the game and for us to individually get better at it.
