Orlando and Boston have a trade to announce:

Orlando:
Ben Wallace 0.9 M
Bo Outlaw 2 M
Gatling 4.87M

for

Boston:
Pervis Ellison $2,750,000
Dino Radja $2,270,500
Calbert Cheaney $2,000,000
2005 1st

Orlando is setting itself up nicely for free agency this summer with this purely cost cutting move. Hoping to jump start the rebuilding process by signing two franchise corner stones this summer. Mostly done trading for now but may be willing to deal draft picks in the upcoming drafts (particularly 3 round expansion pick and 2000 2nd).

Egh can't quote on phone. ^^ Confirmed, we add long term salary and it interferes with our FA plans, and the pick could be high but I couldn't pass up on a 4 time DPY, the greatest defensive center on this decade.

Dallas and SA will edit the trade they made last game

Dallas will trade
Steve Nash (5.5)

to SA for
Manu Ginobili (rites)
Antonio Daniels (2,794,920)
Samaki Walker (2,716,667)
2000 1st (unprotected)

we are bumbed that our manu for the #6 contraction pick got canceled, but still like what this trade brings. We love what Nash turns into once he figures things out. It will hurt losing the unprotected 1st since all draft picks will now be lottery picks, but we had to do it.

Dallas accepts we hate trading Nash but i feel we can get another PG in the draft. To replace him. I also love Manu's game, him coming off the bench in a few years will be great. He'll probably retire a Mav unless i get a great offer.

Anyone else a little miffed that a cost cutting move is cutting a 4 time dpoy and getting not a single guy who's probably going to start and a draft pick that's going to be late?

I'd like to get the opinion of some other gms before that trade goes through.

Well Ben Wallace is also expiring. Its not guaranteed that he would be resigning with the Magic. This move frees up 10M dollars in extra cap space for next summer, and get's rid of Outlaw 5 year 30 M dollar contract. And when it finally comes, that 2005 1st round pick will value for me.

Duncan, Nash, and possibly Ben Wallace...in 2005. Even if we've only got 12 teams, a top 10-12 pick isn't going to be that great. I understand your reasoning, I just frankly find it pretty faulty.

Don't have Duncan or Nash...anyways it's perfectly fair to request a veto the way it works is majority rules, so 7 vetoes and it goes through. Usually there is a 24 hour waiting period but since there was a veto request I will prolong I so GM's can decide for themselves.

Edit: Sorry only 5 since me and orl aren't included.

Erm, you were Boston...so pending the other moves, Shaq and Wallace was it? And Walker? I'm still not seeing a high pick in there :)

Er no we've reset, so Wallace/Walker (who I'm moving for
picks)/ Pierce.

Also this is a 12 team league so it could very well be high.
Like I said though 5 vetoes and no deal.

my opinion is Orlando had to gice a young cheap Wallace to get someone to take Outlaws worthless long contract (he is like Diop in a current game) and all draft picks (in my opinion) are now valueable since they are all lottery picks. Hell now 2nd rounders in certain years are valuable. to me the trade is fine, but I don't matter

Problem is how many lottery worthy players are there? Is someone going to take Martell Webster in the top 10 again? Is Stromile Swift going to be a top lotto pick? You can't evaluate these picks as if they've got the same value we'd see in the real world.

not that it is my deal to argue, but the 2005 is a great draft and that pick will land one of
(CP3, Deron Williams, Granger, Lee, Bogut, A.Bynum, M.Ellis, Marvin Williams, Villenuava, Felton, Nate Robinson)

If everyone's comfortable with the gamble, then by all means, but for my money, there's only three names on that list really worth it, though an argument could be made for 2-3 more. I've said my piece, and I'm rebuilding, so I don't particularly care how good BI gets currently.

I am pretty happy with the trade. I got rid of a long, ugly contract and got a 1st round pick for a player that I didn't really want that badly and who is a free agent this summer.

Dallas and LA have come to a deal:

Michael Finley $7,200,000
2000 Dallas 2nd Rounder
for
2000 LAC 1st Rounder
2002 LAC 1st Rounder
2002 LAC 2nd Rounder

Deal works, LAC is under the cap significantly.

Trading first round picks, especially as the Clippers is dangerous practice. But I'm confident in this team's ability with a young building block at the 4 spot in Lamar Odom, and now a stud veteran SG in Michael Finley at the 2. I've also got a very high contraction draft pick (which is very much available via trade) so the future is looking bright.

Dallas accepts, I love Finley but im looking to build for the future. and this a good way to do it. Expecially with getting the LAC's pick in the first round... lol The picks will eventulaly make up for Finley's lost.
